Weight loss completely stopped after 1 week?

I am very very discouraged right now. I have been following Atkins 72 since the 1st and have been very strict with myself. However, I have not lost any weight since the 8th and I don't know why. I am eating the exact same foods, yet nothing different on the scale. All I basically eat is protein (mostly chicken) pork rinds and I make the diet revolution bread. No pop, no sugar free koolaid, just water. My diet basically consists of water, protein and fats.

I know alot of you will say, You're doing great to have lost 12 lbs so far, but I don't understand how I can follow this diet so strictly and lose so great and completely stop losing after 1 week. I don't think I have ever been on a plan where weight loss completely stopped after 1 week. Any advice would be appreciated because something doesn't seem right to me.

Thank you.

Doesn't sound like Atkins to me: Chicken protein, pork rinds, Revolution rolls.

Can you post a menu so we can see what you might add to make this an Atkins' plan?

When you say weight loss has stopped, how long are you talking? Days? A week or longer? Most of that 12 lbs was likely to be water. It's exciting to see it fall off, and encouraging to see the scale drop each day at first, but the serious fat loss may still be to come for you.

Are you exercising?

Atkins 72 (if I recall correctly) has a zero carb startup followed by addition of carbs in the form of certain allowed veggies, allowed in moderation.

Do you have the book? There is a thread here that might help

Thats only 4 days. I don't lose every single day. Many days the scale goes up due to water weight. You need to relax. If you know your following your plan to the letter, it will come. Some people only weigh in once a week so they don't stress over it. Good luck!

I read your blog and it looks like you lost 12 pounds in a week, yes? If so,
your body is probably just adjusting and you will drop more soon. I agree though, salads are a big part of Atkins 72 so you might want to reread the book. I lost all my weight on the plan you are on, and it's fantastic!

Thanx for the input, however, according to the book for Atkins 72' you are only allowed 1 cup of loosely packed salad 2 times per day. So, I eat it sometimes, but not usually. In the book, he says to weigh daily, but I think that it is too much for me to weigh daily because it is hard to see the scale move so well for a whole week and then to come to a complete stop. We will see.

I wrote the post right after I got off the scale and was really discouraged. I feel alot better now. I have lost a whole lot of weight previously and I realize that it won't be steady all of the time. I will just keep doing what I am doing.

Thanx again!

Slim, if you keep on following the book, you'll do fine, I think. It's hard to be patient, I know. Weighing daily can work against you mentally, I think.

Take care and don't give up!

Slim, just trying shaking things up a little. Eg:Try having an extra cup of salad or eat what you usually eat at Breakfast for Dinner, vice versa. Just my $.02.

Are your ketostix purple? That will tell you if you are eating right for Atkins or not.
