Hey, Happy Monday

I went to go catch up with everyone and found that we had a new thread...

Theresa, thanks for starting us up for the week before slipping back into grad stuff. You are almost there, that has to feel great!

Kim, Good Luck with your DH. I am sure they will find the problem and correct it.

Jen, I think I wanna go out partying with you! Sounds like you had a blast, and then played baseball too. You ARE livin'!

Mary, congrats on fixing that caffeine jones! I don't know if there is a concoction out there that would power me through a weekend of cleaning and household stuff

Diana, thanks again for posting the carrot cake recipe. I made it on Saturday (and fed it to LCers, including a guy that is working on our stairwell, who LOVES "real" carrot cake) and it was a hit! I used coconut oil for half of the veg oil, used whey protein for the wheat protein (how much difference can a couple letters make, right?), and it was pretty darned good! I baked it in a silicone pan and I didn't like that...it was more cooked on the edges than the middle. And it was just such a flat cake, I cut it in half and stacked it to make a "real" cake. Mmmmm...mmmm.

Now, I have been chowing down for three days of what was supposed to be induction, and I am still in ketosis but I know I must be pushing the envelope. Time to get back in the collar and settle down to lightening up I guess I have to cook bacon and an omelette for breakfast.

Hi to everyone else and have a good day!

Lord Beer Me Strength! (for all of you "The Office" fans). A co-worker just brought in the Girl Scout Cookies I ordered weeks ago! I had originally planned on sticking them in my freezer for a later time. Now here they are, IN my office, ON my desk, taunting me!

Oh Kathy, we know you go to sleep and get up with the chickens!!!!

Good morning everybody and BRRRRRRR.... wow, is it chilly here today! We're in the mid-40s this morning, but the sun is shining and it is BEAUTIFUL!!!! Supposed to be in the upper 30s tonight, then back to more normal 70/60 temps.

Well, I guess this cold front has pretty much pushed through most of the country but I actually LOVE the cool air. Glad that I didn't get the veggies in the ground just yet tho... they are still sprouting in their starter box. Why did I try to start tomatoes from seed??? Brought my dwarf Meyer lemon tree inside though so the temperature change wouldn't shock it. Hope the banana trees are okay.

Diet Update! Well ladies ... it appears that my body prefers a lower protein, but higher fat and higher carb diet because I am down a total of 3 pounds for this past week. I guess that's like 5 pounds in about 11 days since I changed my plan up, so a little slow on the drop, but not too bad. I'm just happy happy that the scale is moving down and it's fat I'm burning.

It's a pain in the rear to have to track and plan everything around 400 calorie meals and a mix of 30/30/30, and those totals have been fluctuating - but on average I've been at about 1700 calories, with 40% fat, 30% carbs and 30% protein. Sooooo, the experiment continues!!

Off to eat some breakfast.. catch up with ya'll later!!

YAY Mary! Whatever you're doing...stick with it...it's workin for ya! Now I don't have a CLUE what plan I am on...guess just basic LC, but I was down a pound from last Friday, EVEN with the bread I ate on Saturday! Go figure! Yesterday I had my leftover steak and green beans, then made some hot wings later on and I was so stuffed last night, I thought the scale would be way up this morning????

The sun is shining here, too, after a really rainy, cold weekend. We are actually going to see the 60's the remainder of the week. the grass is really getting green with all the rain we have had! I think Spring has finally Sprung!

I have to go to a conference out of town for a couple days (tomorrow and Wednesday). I will be going thru withdrawal not being able to check in...might have to take the lap top...

Well, have a ton of work to do...

Good morning lovely ladies! Well I'm back on strict induction this morning. My weekend eating all went to pot, so here I am again. I hate this part!

Yeaaaaa Kathy on that pound!! See?? Bread isn't necessarily evil, it's the bingeing on bread that gets us... now THAT is a whole 'nother thing!

Glad spring has finally sprung up north! Yippeeee! Isn't it amazing how a good drench from Mother Nature can just green things up so much? I can water all day long but let a good rainstorm come through and everything greens up so much more and things seem to grow overnight!!! We're due for some more rain mid-week I think.

Well, hope your conference goes well! I always bring a laptop with me when I travel anywhere, but most times I don't have a lot of luck with the hotel internet connections for some reason. If we don't see you be sure to check in when you get back! Have a safe trip.

I think I will bring the laptop...not sure how much free time I will have, but at least I can try to get on tomorrow night. The dang meeting is at a Casino/Resort/Conference Center about 3 hours away. The same group of us go every year and we will definately eat at the buffet tomorrow night! I'll TRY to be good... Then some go to their rooms and some of us try our luck in the casino...

I tried to do a protein shake with coffee this morning, but I have this real problem with eating anything in the morning for at least a couple hours. So, I brought it to work and threw it in the freezer to get it good and cold! I used a couple eggs, a splash of cream, chocolate silk coffee, a splash of amaretto Davinci's, and 2 tbs. of protein powder. I tried it warm, but I felt my tummy starting to object!

Well, ladies, I am back on the track. I ate an egg and some bacon. No baking experiments today

Sounds like I am not the only one having to keep the straight and narrow this week. Kim, we can DO IT!

I am so happy to have lost 14 pounds in 14 days of Lc. Wow. I wish it would continue at that pace all the way down, but man, it's a rush. Or a whoosh, I guess

Kathy, stay away from those cookies. Think about it...they aren't even REALLY that good, those overpriced mass-produced child-peddled Girl Scout cookies. Doing that crime isn't worth doing the time. 142 is a place PAST the Promised Land to me, so don't jeopardize it!

You know, not really. I have been there a couple times while the major construction has been going on. You know, the casinos up here ae constantly getting bigger and "better"...Manistee is just finally finishing their construction, and they started out as practically a mobile home with slot machines in it less than 10 years ago!

But I do notice, when big construction is going or has just finished, the slots always seem a lot tighter at these places. I know they are regulated and audited and all, but you do notice that you hear a lot less of the "jackpot" rings around you (and nary a one FOR you). I am getting kind of jaded about paying for a new wing at these developments

Good Morning Beautiful People!! I shouldn't even post today!! I've been SOOOO bad!! I ate crispy cream donuts Friday...Pizza Saturday....yesterday I made homemade egg noodles. (which is my favorite meal in the entire world and my momma makes them for me all the time!) Then I asked my kids what they were craving and they said fried pies...so guess what?? I made home made fried pies!! With homemade dough!! That is my next favorite thing in the world!! Sooo....I'm not gonna weigh!! I guess I will have to starve myself all week because one of my mechanics told me my BUTT looked BIG today!! Like it doesn't everyday, but today I know I have a fried pie hanging on each butt cheek!!

Okay..confession is OVER!! I gotta make memories with my kids!! I just don't have to EAT those memories!! Its all my momma's fault!! These are things she always cooked for me when I was at home!!

Ty done GREAT at her Track meet Saturday!! We Froze our BUNS off though!! It was about 50' and the wind was straight outta the north!! Of course I didn't bring enough warm clothes and we froze!! Left at 6am and didn't get home until after 7pm!! Long day!! The boys ran wild!! Some man finally walked up and told me how much he had enjoyed watching the twins fight!! Said they reminded him and his wife of their own children who were 18mths apart!! I offered to give him mine!! He was in his 60's...The boys kept rolling each other down the hill we were sitting on!

But Ty got 4th in two of her events....no metals, but 4th outta 49 runners wasn't too bad!

Well Everyone...I will check back in...Hard to get motivated today!

There was a bad wreck in front of my mothers house yesterday evening and We were there. I didn't sleep well for thinking about it. One was killed and the other was mediflighted from the scene. Really tragic. I think they had been drinking. Took out mom's mailbox and flipped 6 times. We couldnt get outta mom's drive for the wreckage.

Gratz Kathy on your lb!! And for putting those cookies in the TRUNK!

Mary, you are doing SOOO great ono your new plan! You are going to be in Onederland in NO TIME!

Good morning to everyone else I missed.

I made myself a flax muffin for b-fast today and oh man was it GOOD! I ground the flax myself this time. A long time ago when I tried it I had bought it ground. I ground it in my coffee grinder and did it for a good long time and WOW did it make a big diff to me. It was alot less grainy and SO like a real muffin in texture and everything. I did it in my silicone muffin cups so 1 recipe makes 2 muffins. Oh man I am gonna REALLY enjoy adding these back in now I cut them in half and put SB Lite butter on one and PB on the other. I will never use the pre-ground stuff again.
