Good morning everyone!
Happy Monday (or is it????) Still no movement on the scales. Just not sure where to go. I am thinking I should stop exercising and get the weight loss rolling, but I know the exercise really helps my metabolism. Needless to say, I am stuck....
I guess I am one of those folks who is somewhat resistant...
I'm off to a meeting, I'll see you all later... have a great morning.

WOE: Atkins '72/Stillman's
Start Date: restart 12/30/2007 (lost w/atkins in 1978, 1998)
Beeyoutiful Day...for now!

Happy (?) Monday Morning all...

we're having a nice day, windy but fairly warm. Weather people are talking colder & rainier for most of the week, though, so I'm enjoying it today! Hope you all had a nice weekend, and had some Spring weather to enjoy (without the T-storms!)

I'm down 1/2 lb. for the weekend, which was good news for me: we went out with DD on Friday...stayed Atkins legal with a delish prime rib & a nice salad...but was afraid that'd stall my Stillmans like it usually does...was same weight on Sat & Sun, so glad to see it down, even a little, today!

So, Mary, my coffee-friend, I'm reading my mags over the weekend, and I read yet another article about how good coffee is for you (this was saying a cup a day can help prevent the plaque in the brain that becomes Alzheimers...which runs in my family, of course.) Then, I read on another thread that I'm not supposed to be drinking Green Tea because of my hypothyroidism. So, I'm sitting here going...coffee??? tea??? About ready to restore my beloved coffee & see if it works with Stillman's.

Hi, Susan, sorry to hear you're stuck...that's why I'm "stuck" on Stillman's so much because I was soooo stalled on Atkins (I just maintain on Atkins...love it, but I HAVE to lose this weight! Even if it means giving up almost all of the "good" stuff.) Have you tried any of the shake-up-your-metabolism ideas people talk about?

Hi, Kitty, Diana, Theresa, Shala, Tommie, OneFitGal, Pear, and anyone else I've forgotten this morning (it IS a MONDAY...takes at least until Tuesday for me to really wake up!)

LOL Kitty.... I have those moments myself and I'm only a blonde wanna be!! Actually I was surprised to see that nobody had started the thread this morning... everyone must be really busy.

I know what you mean Susan. During those moments where I have exercised regularly (yeah... I have had them ) my appetite definitely goes up, I am more hungry and I eat more!! It's like a double edged sword... you know exercise is good for your body, but it also increases your need to eat! But truth be known, I haven't felt much like exercising for months and I do think it's been the lack of carbs in my diet.

Cathy congrats on that loss!! You know, I've heard so many conflicting stories about coffee, tea, alcohol, artificial sweetners, I mean it's just crazy!!! But I honestly feel that it is a moderation thing. If you drink a ton of coffee or tea, I'm sure that's not good for you, but I think a cup or two on average each day is fine. That's what I believe anyway!

Hi Ladies!

Hi Cathy, my name is Diana and I'm a coffee fiend too! I can't help it! It's my new passion and it's becoming a habit now!!
I'm toning it down as I do Stillmans though, not as much hc, so hopfully that will work.

Susan, how long have you been on a stall. I've heard a stall is not a stall unless it has been for along period of time. Your body may just be adjusting to your loss so far. That happens. Or you may be losing inches.
I saw an interesting youtube video by Jimmy Moore and he said that he had a year long stall. He said that he just kept eating how he ate before, and eventually he started losing again.

Sometimes it's not what we do, but continuing to do the same thing.

Although I'm not one to talk, because I go back from Stillmans to Atkins!

I thought I'd mention that about JM because he has lost so much weight.
Hang in there, you're doing so great, your whoosh will come soon enough!!

Hi Mary, how's the new plan coming along? I hope it's still working out for you!!!

Hi TK! I hope you have a great poop-free day!!!

Good morning Ladies...

I'm down a pound today form Friday's weight - it's weird since I was not watching carbs all weekend. Back on strict 72 today. Hoping to see some good scale movement this week.

Susan - sorry your stuck. That's the reason I was carbing up a little this weekend, I was hoping to eat a little more carbs to get the scale up, then reduce again to move the scale again. I ended up losing on the added carbs...go figure...maybe I should be doing more than 20 carbs.

Cathy - congrats on your loss!

WOE: Crack the Fat Loss Code
Soooo.... if ya wanna know about my "new" WOE..... if not just skip this post....

I am going into my first full week with this new WOE - doing a more balanced diet of 30/30/30 mix of carbs, proteins and fats, low to no sugar, avoid the white stuff but allow the good carbs (whole grains, fruit, more veggies), still eating up to 6 times a day (3 meals, 2 snacks, 1 treat) and every 3 hours or so, tracking calories for 1500 to 1700 a day (till I reach under 200 pounds), and still kinda lower carb eating but not really Atkins anymore. Well, unless you wanna consider it where Atkins sort of ends ...

I honestly feel kinda guilty hanging out in the '72 thread since I'm not doing '72 anymore ... so I won't post menus. I think I'm gonna reactive my blog so I can track stuff there instead. Anyway, I had a loss last week of 2 pounds so that's a good start. Well, actually that loss was since Friday because that was when I changed my diet. This week will be more of a true test of this change though since it'll be a full week of eating this way.

Why I gave up?

Well, I started back with Atkins for the more rapid weight loss it promises, but it's just not doing it for me, so I had to make these changes. It has to be related to my age because when I was in my 30s and did Atkins, I dropped 30 pounds easy and in no time!!! So not fair that it isn't working for me now. Going back to a balance seems to agree more with my body, no intestinal distress or bloating so far and I have more energy overall. I feel so much better than I was feeling!

It's annoying to have to track everything to try to end the day with the right percentages, but I just went back to using FitDay so it hasn't been too bad. I think that's why most people slip back into bad eating though because tracking is so tedious - so I have to try to keep up with it all.

Well, hope that didn't bore everybody!! But I know a few of you were curious about what is going on with me.

Sooooo, it is a gorgeous day down here in South Mississippi and I'm off to do some work... My last mail order plants just arrived so gotta get outside.

Will check in with you ladies later on. Hope that everybody has a glorious week and nice losses on the scales!

Hey Diana! I see that you are back to Stillman's this week - I really hope that you hit that goal of 199 and I'll be cheering for you for sure!! My new way may take me longer to get there, but I'm feeling confident that it's at least in sight for me now.

Morning Kim ... Congrats on your loss!! You may be right, you may need more carbs too. I really think that was my problem, not enough good carbs and not nearly enough calories. But, we'll see how it goes this week. Just gotta make sure I am getting the good carbs and not the "others!"

I had a great weekend because I was feeling so much better! Got to see my grandbaby and that's always nice.

How is DH? Did ya'll get the report yet from the doctor??

Well, gotta run...catch up with ya'll later!!

Mary - I don't think any of us is really doing Atkins 72 anymore. I can't speak for everyone, but this is our second "home" - and don't you dare think of leaving us.

72 woe

Hi Mary,Good luck with your new plan.I have tried what you are starting many times.I do not have too much to loose.Maybe 20lbs.But you would think I could make that happen. In the back of my mind I think if I do the balanced woe and just eat less I would loose like some people. The problem I think is my body is so used to having very little carbs, when I do,it is almost like I am allergic to them. But good luck anyway.Rena

I'm back to tracking food today too. I want to see if I'm getting enough calories, and keep track again of my carbs. I will try it for a couple of weeks and see how it goes. I do incorporate a little fruit into mine already(cantelope or honeydew melon). You plan sounds good too. Let me know how it goes,

As per DH - I called this morning and doctor is still waiting for results - I can't believe they're not back yet!
