Mornin girls...I had a "carb-0 load day" yesterday with the hopes that I might jump start my weight loss again! I ate toooooo much legal food yesterday and had a few carbs on top of that...I was so bloated last night, I swear I looked 8 months PREG! Back on plan today....And to make my week even better, my little boy Rowdy has pink eye!! My mom took him to the dr this morning and he has to stay out of school until Thursday...which means that my Daughter is prolly going to get it too..ugh!!!
Breakfast- Coffee with stevia and heavy cream (Kitty..that crap cost $13 a bottle!!!! OMG..I bought it but almost died! I don't really care for it that much either....how many drops do you use in one cup?) Lunch- will be tuna Dinner- probably chicken Well girls have a great day...I am working on my first bottle of water...cutting way back on the diet soda's *tear*

Gratz Tommie!!!
Yikes, hope your little girl doesn;t get it Shala. I made the oopsie rolls this morning and I don't find them to be much better then the reg RR. Still a bit too eggy for me to like them as hamburger buns anyways. Today's Menu: B - I actually ate bfast today. Made a burger w/cheese, mayo, mustard and 1/2 tsp 0 carb ketchup on an oopsie roll, iced tea w/liquid stevia L - maybe some of LS's cheese crackers w/some sour cream, iced tea w/liquid stevia D - Not sure yet. Something using cheddar cheese before it goes bad!

Good morning Ladies!
I remembered the new thread today...LOLTommie - Woo Hoo! You hit the 140's! ![]() ![]() Halley - Congrats on the 4 inches lost! ![]() ![]() I had a terrible weekend. I was feeling depressed again about my weight and I cheated all weekend! Why do we do that to ourselves?? I felt soo sick after each time too. ![]() I'm going to get back on track today. I made up menus last night for the week, adn I cooked some pre-made breakfast quiches, cheese crackers, rev rolls, and roasted 2 chickens. Hopefully I can stick with it this time (again).

Hi Halley,
No veggies on induction except: Two small green salads a day (each less than one cupful, loosely packed) made with leafy greens, celery or cukes and radishes. Dressings with vinegar, oil, dry spices, herbs, grated cheeese or anchovies. So, the mushrooms, tomatoes, & olives are not induction foods. And no LC ketchup. Cheese is only 4 Oz a day on induction as well. Just thought I'd mention that cause I can eat 4 oz of cheese in no time flat. |

Good afternoon, all
Well, I'm still stuck, but no Known cheats over the weekend (I say "known" because I had to clean out all the seasonings with sugar we'd been using, and quit coffee & diet cola, and tic tacs...so hopefully I'm now really not eating hidden carbs!)
Halley--way to go on the inches! Must make some clothes pretty loose now. I could have guessed your lunch salad's not on induction- looks delish to me --my basic rule of thumb now is, if it tastes really good (or even just sounds really good) it must have too many carbs for me! Tommie--now that's wonderful, in the 140's, even if it's a "hovering" weight. (Did you try leaning sideways a little to get the scale to stay under 150? Or try the wrestler's trick of "spitting" the extra ounce off that put you back over 149? Just kidding! )Kim--you can come to my house and stock up my low-carb week!! That looks like a great set-up to keep on track for the next few days. We finally got a bit of a January thaw here in Nebraska. We've been having gloriously warm days lately (high 30's-high 40's.) Which was a blessed relief from day after day of bitter cold (not as cold as Canada, but still...) Typically, though, it melted a lot of the snow just in time for the weather to change tonight...more snow & colder tomorrow. Ugh. I want SPRING! Anyone making any Summer vacation plans? (One of my favorite things to do for that long stretch of winter after the holidays.) Cathy

Wow, what inspiration...
Anybody needing a boost of extra inspiration, go look at Missalissa's thread "Look How Far I Have come" on the Main Low Carb forum...amazingly good pictures of how good losing 100 pounds looks.

Hey ladies! Congrats to all you losers!!
Well, here I am reporting in, the big fat failure that I am. ![]() Hope, I think I need to take it one cheat-free-day (or maybe minute?) at-a-time like you, so that I will have some accountability to come on here and say I made it through another day without a cheat. Kitty, I just don't know how you have done it. Apparently I don't think that I deserve it enough or something. Okay, pout, pout... get over yourself Mary!! ![]() Thanks Tommie - I totally love that little man... I wish I could spend more time with him, but my DIL will not let him go!! Well, this is her first child, so maybe as he gets a bit older she'll be more comfortable letting him go. |

I thought Green or Black olives were OK in induction?
(I didn't even think about the mushrooms and tomatoes) I won't be having my LC catsup tonight on my burger, just mayo and pickle... |

Mary - you're in the same boat I am. Just pick up and keep going, that's what I am trying to do. I carbed out all weekend, not just one day. I'm paying for it now too. I feel awful, just as I always do. You'd think I'd learn!
Keep going sweetie, you can do it! We're right there with you! ((HUGS)) |

Thanks ya'll for the encouragement.
I still feel like a LOSER, though not in the good way!! Hey, at least I can laugh at myself, right?Halley - I think that green olives are okay on induction if you have them in place of one of your two salads for the day. He mentioned on the list page if you didn't want one of your salads you could have a pickle plus some green olives. Black olives are listed on the next page veggie list, though I guess that's for the next week as you step up in carbs, just like the mushrooms and tomatoes. None of those veggies are bad, just remember they all are higher carb, and if you're starting with a clean induction you want your carbs as low as you can make them. Then each week you add in more of those veggies. See, I think I know what to do... I just need to continue to DO it!! <kicking herself in the butt multiple times> |

olives
"Diet Revolution Salad Material: Celery, Chicory, Chinese Cabbage, Chives, Cucumber, Endive, Escarole, Fennel, lettuce, Olives (Green or Black), Onions, Pickles (Sour or Dill), Parsley, Peppers, Radishes, Scallions, watercress."
(from the book) I guess I just misread the olives stuff... I do see where it says OR pickle..plus olives... Thanks for the clarification. I'm making the Rev. Rolls right now, 35 more minutes... kinda unimpressed so far, they smell like a fried egg.... Are the good with butter? How should I anticipate eating them for a snack tonight???? (didn't have a burger for dinner.. just broiled fish, with butter and a sprinkle of parmesan cheese and 1 wedge of lemon, tiny lettuce and cuke salad with evoo and vinegar... couple of glasses of water. Going to have some Yerba mate... |

Good evening everyone and congrats Tommie & Halley on your losses.
Shala - that pink eye is a bummer and hope your little girl doesn't get it. Also, hope you get to feeling better, too. Kim & Mary - I so feel what you are going through. I was in the same place a week ago. This is the first week that I have been cheat free. We just have to pick ourselves up and get on track again. Just hang in there - you can do it!!!! Have a great Tuesday everyone. Hope |

Halley - the truth is that the '72 book can be totally confusing, and contradictory too! Just an example.... Atkins said no cottage cheese on induction, yet he advocates the RR rolls that contain cottage cheese on your very first day of induction!! Made me crazy at first trying to figure things out, so I just interpret it the best I can. Anyway, seems to me that you're doing great ... just watch out for any of those tricky "hidden" sugars!!! That was my downfall many a week of trying to go clean. I think that's what has led to my frustration. I'm aiming to do much better this week! Right, Hope??

Mary, it's so confusing! and I'm just frustrated. Been in dark, dark pink ketosis for 5 days straight and only 1lb??? I've done low carb before and lost 15 pounds in 2 weeks... so I'm kinda worried since my loss is so low now and eating LESS carbs... weird, huh??
I'm going to just eat meat and those tiny salads from now on to be safe. |

Cute avitar Halley! I had a roommate once who had a ferret but his kinda freaked me out and it smelled funny to me too, though it was cute. I love animals of all kinds, but I'm most partial to cats.
If you are in dark pink then you are burning fat so there are definitely changes going on with your body for sure. It will show up on the scale or the tape measure eventually as long as you are in ketosis! I think that is one of the most positive things about using the stix - when you don't see changes on the scale you still KNOW that there is an exchange going on and that body fat is dissipating! Keep it up and hang in there.. it'll show up and you'll be happy that you didn't cave like me... <still kicking herself...> Quote:
