I would definately like to try....even though Christmas is right dab in the middle, lol. I did eat some carbs on Thanksgiving, but have been on meat and eggs for that past few days trying to make up for it. I actually want to try to get off like 20-25 pounds before christmas if I can.

SO, I will join, too. I took Thanksgiving day and the following off, but started easing back in on Saturday.
My weight today is 255 and I will call that my starting point. I'd like to do the full 50 days, but I'd be happy if I can just make 20 by Christmas. MM |

well i lost 2 pounds over night so maybe i will make the 50 pounds in 50 days afterall, that would make me 106 which i would find a little thin though, and plus the hubby would kill me if i had no boobies!

2 lb drop, but it might the scale -- I'm getting new batteries this afternoon.
I had a question. Has anyone who's done the 50 in 50 challenge come close (within 5 lbs) or succeeded at it? I'd like to see what they did... MM |

OK -- how did it come to be called the 50 lbs in 50 days -- is there somewhere that it's stated that it can be done -- has it been done? I'm sorry, but I've not read up on all the diets...

May I join also? I've been lurking for a couple months but ashamed to post because my weight has just continued to increase despite my effort to stop it. I had lost alot on Lean for Life a couple of years ago (208 to 135) but it was very difficult to maintain and I hit rock bottom when I when to the dr's last Monday weighing 169, he is testing me for pcos and hormones and put me on an adrogen lowering med. I've been working off my tail all week eating 100% clean and I'm now down to 160.5.
I'd love to be part of a group again, I love the accountablity it brings. So will you take me? Soontobesexy...I have time for you, how dare they! Heather (ignore the numbers to the left they are wrong) Last edited by Pendry : 11-29-2006 at 12:48 PM. |

50 in 50 was just an idea somebody had to lose 1 lb a day for 50 days
yes it is possible to do. there is no particular diet to follow everyone was trying different things if you go back to the atkins forum and go back a few pages there is a ton of threads about it, one for each week for 50 days actually starting back in early to mid september as far as i know i am the only person from the original group that stuck to the challenge for 50 days. there MAY have been someone else but they dont post here in the threads anymore. ifthere is anyone else please speak up! most people that tried it would go a week or two and then never post again and even some that lasted close to 50 days i dont think made it all the way without restarting at some point during the original 50 not sure if its just to hard to go 50 days on diet or what for the 1st month of the 50 days i was doing the M/E diet which is only meat or eggs. pretty self explanatory and pretty simple to follow. most people cant handle eating only meat and eggs though so its not for everyone. i personally saw no weight loss difference between it and regular low carbing so i stopped doing it. the one thing i did like about it though was the simplicity. didnt have to think about whether something was good or bad for me, it was either meat or eggs

well, I can understand why it'd be hard to do....but I'm working on it. Thoday I'll be very strict. yesterday I had a slice of tomato and a piece of lettuce.
Anyway, I'm down 2 lbs from Tuesday, so clocking along. today, it's just pork loin (I bought a huge length of it) and eggs. I intend to stick to this AT LEAST until Christmas and I'm considering adding in that "couch to 5k" program.... I'd like to be at my lowest weight in 6 years by Christmas day and below 200 (should be pretty easy if I stick to it) by my son's 3 yr birthday (2/13) -- Actually, I'm hoping to be at 180..I guess I should make a sig list of mini goals. what sort of supplements are folks taking? I need to get some. Also, does anyone in here use Stevia more than splenda...I'm thinking about switching ot it exclusively... MM

I'm down another 1.5 pounds which makes 159 this morning (I do weigh daily) and I'm feeling much more in control of my eating and actually rarely hungry...which for me never happens. I'm one of those people who are so envious of people on the main lobby saying I have no appetite I'll just drink water today!
My breakfast, lunch and dinner yesterday and my breakfast and lunch today was baked salmon with a teaspoon of mayo and mustard at each meal. My drinks included coffee, water and diet pepsi. Maya, I do use splenda and stevia, I prefer splenda because it's sweeter however I use stevia to reduce some of my carbs. I only take b complex and a multi-vitamin, I'm on alot of meds for a neck issue so I try not to take anything I don't absolutely need. Hope everyones having a great weightloss day! |

I weighed this am and I'm down another two woohoo! I'm 157 today. Maybe that new med is really what I needed. I just woke up and was again looking forward to eating my salmon and my darling husband ate it sometime between 11pm and 6am argh! Maybe he's on to my secret!
So now I'm here procratinating on my real work HA! What end of the month paperwork? Is anyone here in the Christmas spirit yet? I just can't find mine, for me this year it all comes down to dollars and cents. I wish we could do without the expensive presents and just enjoy the christmas lights. Soontobe, are you weighing in at WW also or are you just following from their paperwork? Does anyone have any weekend plans? Have a great weightloss day! Pendry |

I'm more stressed about meeting goals adn getting the right gifts than I am in the real spirit of things. This year we're doing a less traditional "spread" when it comes to the holiday for the first time, so that's going to be interesting and hopefully will bring more cheer...
Today is my husband's and my anniversary. We ate at Bennigans for lunch, but I'm sure the sauce on the ribs I had wasn't really compliant, so I'm keeping it fairly pure for the rest of the day. Steak and more steak and that's about it. Also, my scale fritzed out as the kids dumped it into teh bathtub last night when I wasn't looking....I am hoping it dries out, but I'm so dependent on it, that I'm likely to buy another one tonight. I have no idea where my weight is. Does anyone know how Frank's buffalo hot wing sauce (which SAYS 0 carbs) adds up? My ketosis even though i've been strict meat/water/eggs/herbal tea/stevia -- is barely there, and after lunch today I'm worried I'll be on another 4 day spiral till I get back into ketosis just in case I bounced out. Cheers everyone - hubby and I have scored a few hours out alone tonight, so we're off. MM |
