What is the egg and meat diet and how do i do it.And how long can i do it.

Meat and egg diet is exactly that just meat and eggs theres a thread on the notice board 50lbs in 50days alot of people in there are doing the meat and egg diet. Some people stay around the 5 carbs a day and it usually works for most people. As to how long it can be done i am not sure i am doing it 5weeks now. here is the link>> §º°º°••··50lbs in 50 days- Week - OCTOBER 16-22nd··••º°º°§ maybe this will help some what.

well my experience with the egg and meat only diet is although i lost large amount the first week (9lbs) through a whole months time i lost the same exact weight i had doing my normal low carb program (20lbs)


i think its a good way to get back into losing if you are in a stall but long term i dont feel its any better or worse then any other low carb diet.

again just my experience, some results may vary

Can I do the meat and egg without going through the induction and still get the same results?

the point of induction is to cut your carbs and get sugar out of your system, however you can do that i believe is up to you.

i never followed atkins suggested procedure, i simply cut my carbs down and weight came off

with meat and egg only diet you will be looking at less the 5 carbs a day depending on what you eat. atkins suggests less then 20 carbs a day for induction so to answer your question yes it will work for induction, just make sure you take a multivitamin and drink a LOT of water

What do you mean by regular foods, higher carbs items... more veggies etc?

I wanted to loose 20 more pounds but after being 144 for 3 months i decided my body was not going to loose anymore, which is bull crap...

so i decided to do maintiance...

i " was" trying maintiance out so i was eating some "regular" foods but very few had any sugar/starch/bread. i did have a krystel cheeseburger and it was good and was 16 carbs. i did not have very many more carbs that day. over the week i was on maintiance, i had about 8 strawberries on day. i did not really eat a large amound of food, did not binge.. had some squash that i had not had in 14 months. ( oh the fruit----awesome- my first fruit in 15 months) they were better than the krystal.. anyway to make a long story short, by the end of the week i had a 5 pound weight gain, i uniform pants were so tight i had to unbutton then and let the belt out two notched. i dont know what happened but i do know it scared the heck out of me and i have been on meat/eggs/cheese ( I do the cheese because i only eat one slice a day and it is only one carb) so i have been on it for two days and down 3 pounds and hopfully 6 more by the end of the week... and hopefully 10 by thanksgiving and 10 more by christmas
then the new year i will start this maintence again and i will have 10 pounds to mess around with

Harley..did you work your way up the carb ladder like it is suggested?? I am no where near maintiance but that just does not sound like you should gain weight from eating cheese, strawberries etc..glad you got back what worked for you...!!

I would suggest getting the book back out and reading up on it....
Start out in an induction type, and after 2 weeks move up to OWL, then if by the the weight is moving slowly add more veggies, fruits and whole wheats

no i did not and it has already been told to me that i shocked my body when i suddenly put carbs in it when it was not use to it, and it does make sence. i know nothing about maintieance and i paid dearly. i have not read anything on maintaince and lost my atkins book amoung my mess at the house, i am so unorganized and everying has no place. i am going to buy another book on ebay really cheap and read up on maintiance and adding back carbs a little at a time instead of shocking my system to death. i have been meat and eggs ( i do have cheese it does not hurt me and i only eat a small amount) the last 3 days with wonderful results, 5 pounds so far and my uniform pants are getting loose again and i will be sewing up the pockets again soon. i have taken then up 4 times the legs are still baggy and the the city will not buy me a pair and i dont have 45.00 to spend on a pair, at least not until may 07 then we get an alotment. last year i bought a size 16 and 14 and had no idea i would get to a size 10, never ever have i been a size 10 so i have been taking up the size 14 for months.. they look so funny. the crotch is sagging, the butt is sagging, but the waist is always beeen sorta tight (ERR) i just dont loose fast in my waist...

i am still eating cheese....
i lost another 4 pounds.
i went to the store and got a gorgous red top with glitter like stuff a size med and a pair of dress slacks, size 8 and they fit perfect... my goal of going from a size 28 to 8 has been accomplished.. but now i am going for a size 4-6 because i have a huge amount of fat on my stomach and my boobs are still a 38d and i still can not fit into my wedding dress that is from 1977 because the breast is lacking about 5 inches.

the pants are gorgous. it is silly to still see myself as fat, but when i can see the apron on my tummy it is so gross
also my thighs , oh well

i ate whatever i wanted thanksgiving, dressing, cramberry, gravy, potato salad, deviled eggs, yams, but no desert...
but i basically stick with meat/cheese/eggs most days.
i have never been under 140 except maybe when i was 8 or 9 years old and when i started out on this i just wanted to get under 200
so amazing... so so amazing...

I did this before my wedding

The funny thing is I didnt' even know it. I worked very well though. I was pretty extreme though, I wouldn't eat after 2p. That lasted a good while. The funny thing was that if I ate even a salad for lunch instead of a hamb patty it would completely stall me.
