Meat & Egg- what about cheese?

Hey y'all,
I've heard lots of ladies on here talking about the meat and egg fast/WOE, and I'm wondering, can someone let me know a little more detail about ithttp://images.lowcarbfriends.com/lcf/bbs/images/smilies/confused2.gif..

Does it get boring, or are you just so far into ketosis that it doesn't matter?

How much weight did you lose in how much time?

How long should you do it?

Do you gain the weight back instantly, once you add back low-carb veggies, like salad?

And, the biggie, how about egg, meat and cheese, like a slice of the Kraft American Cheese which has zero carbs (not net, but really zero carbs for one slice) and yes just one slice is enough for me, I'd just use it in my eggs.

Can you use mayo as a dressing for the meat? Like a little mayo, plus garlic salt = pretty tasty no-carb dip.

Just curious, as I would like to jump start myself after TOM.

Thanks everyone for you're help!http://images.lowcarbfriends.com/lcf...lies/smile.gif

Hi,

I just started this strict meat and eggs plan, so I also have alot of questions... I don't think I will get bored, I will mix it up alot... tuna, burgers, grilled steak.. and of course, rev rolls....

The Atkins '72 book states we can have 4ozs. cheese a day I believe, but I have opted to cut it out for now, I am not having any dairy.... You can have mayo and butter.... But I am still reading. There are alot of good links on the "50 lbs. in 50 day" post...

I hope you get all of your questions answered..

I just did meat and eggs. No cheese, and I had 0 carb diet drinks of course.

I know that like anything else your milage may vary but in 2 weeks I lost 20 lbs. I was only doing M/E for 4 days of that and lost most of my weight then.

just try the M/E thing for about a week and see how it goes. no reason to beat yourself up worrying about it before hand, just try it!

in 1 week youll know whether it works or not and whether you want to continue or try something different. cheese wont be mad at you for not eating it for a week

You're right, I keep forgetting that it's actually okay for me to hurt cheese's feelings. It's apparantly be hurting a lot more than just my feelings lately!

I think I'm going to try the M/E starting next week and do it Mon-Fri just to see how it goes!

When I do Egg / Meats You can get creative with meals, Steaks, Burgers, Omelets, Poached. Just really no veggies.

When you go t add veggies, add 1 cup of Salad for the first day, then slowly work up to atkins 72.

If you do Cheese, do very little!!! 1/2 to 1 ounce MAX!!!

If you follow it correctly you should not gain anything.

You can do a Protein only diet for as long as you like like Kimkins.

Also remember healthy fats will help you lose!! So use Butter, Mayo, Oils!

Greetings to All (New to the Board)

Hello there! I came to this site because I have struggled for about a year to get back the 30 lbs I have gained after dropping almost 180 lbs. I am not quite sure how I had the determiniation to lose this weight and then can't get back 30 that was put on.........

I am on here looking for support because I have a surgery to remove excess skin scheduled for December and it is so important that I get the 30 lbs off or the surgery will not happen.

I am going to go on M/E for about 2-3 weeks to get myself burning and just want to get people involved (that are not my boyfriend) so I can make myself accountable and get some pointers.

I already started off yesterday with
Carne Esada / Little bit of salsa
Two diet cokes
lots of water
1/2 cup of almonds........
2 oz of cheese and turkey

I know I need to nix the diet coke and cheese for this first few weeks but it was my first day.

Anyone have any words of wisdom? EEEEEEEEEK it has been years since I tried this.

Dawn

Aurorasocal - if you are going to do the strict M/E for a few weeks, you should probably skip the salsa, almonds and cheese. Also, don't forget that you need real meat and not deli meats.

You are going to have to be extra disciplined if you are going to lose all that weight by December! Don't forget that Thanksgiving kicks off the "holidays" and weeks of temptation. You can do it!

You had the determination to lose it the first time. You can do it again. Good luck.

I think I've found the trick to losing it- smoked chicken wings. The hickory wood that is used to smoke it really gives it a great flavor without adding any carbs, and because it has bones in it, it takes longer to eat and gives you time to fill up quick!

A note to anyone who enjoys deli meats- try boars head, no fillers, all meat, very good! They have a buffalo style chicken that has a great flavor with zero carbs, and none of the nasty filler stuff most lunch meats have in them. They also have plenty other varieties of turkey and ham. Check the nutrition books that they usually have on the counter of the deli. I get mine at Publix or some Kroger's (usually the newer ones carry Boar's Head) They'll let you taste a meat if you're wondering about a particular flavor!

Thanks to you for replying

Yeah I know deli meats are not that great. Good news is that despite the first day and cheese, I got some Ketostix last night and I am well into Ketosis. I was in the dark dark category!

I went to get chicken and steak at the store so I have some in containers to munch on.

I know it seems like a lot to lose but I know I can do it.......... I have TONS of clothes in my garage that I need to get back into!!!! and the skin surgery!! WOO HOO! This is the first time in years I actually feel like I am going to do it again.

Not really, last week I was pretty bad! I did get back on track and have lost 3 pounds of the crap I regained! So, at least I'm headed back down. The wedding is next Saturday, and I'm aiming for a 10 pound loss, so I'm praying for will power and strength!

Can I ask a few question re. meat and eggs.
1. Can I substitute the meat with salmon?
2. How many eggs do you eat a day
3. How long are you able to stay on the m/e

I have been hunting for the '72 version of Atkins to no avail. I have been on Atkins since June 26 and have lost 44lbs. Want to lose another 6lbs by October 14th and then a further 10 or so by christmas when I am heading for a 2 week cruise, thereafter I have another 45lbs.

Any help and suggestions greatly appreciated.

Remember, though, if you're going to do the m/e fast, be sure that at least 35 to 40% of your calories are from fat. Otherwise, the protein will be converted to glucose, and you'll lose the advantage that you're trying to gain by eliminating carbs.

oooooh HarleyLady - you are totally gorgeous - WTG. It spurs me on.

I had total sabotage time past week or so and now back at the starting gate. Lost 48lbs but not going on the scale until next MOnday - don't want to know the damage I have done.

CurveControl - zuccini is allowable if that is what you are asking. On induction for me CORN is out unfortunately.

I am starting on the 1972 version of Atkins today so ZERO carbs.

Chat later
