I know Im still losing a little at a time; Im 5 ft 7 and could probably stop now, or maybe at 140-145 and be really great! But I have never been able to maintain my weight below 140 even when I was in my 20's. Bella |

Bella, PLEASE post what works for you during your "maintence" time.
I have found that the most difficult. . .I bounce up and down around a certain weight. . .I have to return to Kimmer's LEAN meat and eggs and "72/Kimkins just to maintain. ..and I'm not at goal. You seem to have been the most dedicated here recently. . .outstanding job BTW, and do both LC, LF, LCal, plus EXERCISE!!! Since I have done all the above, but not at the same time. . .I'm going to use you as inspiration and do the 4. . . Have I missed anything? You've done us all proud, but you DID IT!!! I've finished teaching for summer. . .so I'll keep you posted on how the plan works--I have 12 weeks and NO excuse not to exercise. Please tell me if I'm missing anything. Janie |

This is what I am eating right now...
B: 1/2 piece Ezekial bread with .5 teaspoon almond butter OR 1/2 flax muffin 1/4 cup cottage cheese (might add 2 organic strawberries) L: Protein, usually grilled chicken salad Snacks list: 10 almonds, 1/4 cup cottage cheese, baby bell cheese if needed, sf jello, tuna with mayo, LF Hebrew National frank. Please note: This is a list, I dont eat them all each day! Maybe 2-3. D: 4 ounces protein, veggies such as butternut squash, mushrooms, bell peppers, a small salad. Coffee (1.5 cups per day) tea, water etc Exercise: 5-6 times per week cardio and weights 2 times per week The main difference here is the ezekial bread and flax muffins plus strawberries which I can eat without spiking my blood sugar and getting cravings. Also higher carb veggies sometimes. I use fitday everyday and weigh twice a week or so. BTW, I dont eat only lean meats as I like hamburger! I also do eat 1 Lowfat Hebrew National frank if I need protein fast. Hope this helps! Bella

I think I really need to up my exercise I have been very slack lately so my goal is to go on the treadmill everyday.
I am now down 10lbs but if I want to hit my goal of another 20.5 lbs by July 2 ... I am really going to need a miracle lol I would need to lose at the exact same rate my loss has been going so far. Either way I will weigh less and be closer to goal than I am now. I had a couple of maltesers yesterday... I really need to get back on plan 100% I know a few maltesers didnt hurt me but until I lose the last 20lbs I want to be strict. |

Bella, thanks for your info on maintenence.
I am on day 3 of K/E. . .to kick start the process. I will then do '72/kimkins. . .with exercise. Then I can start maintenence. . .when I'm at or below goal. . .as you have. Unfortunately I have a ways to go, okay 25 lbs, yikes. . .but I wasn't getting there doing what I was doing. I'm enjoying the exercise. . .I can walk fast in the sun and get a tan at the same time! Ha. . .doctor has me on sunshine, believe it or not. . .well, not much, but some every day! \ I think I will do minimum of 30 minutes. But cardio every day, and preferably 1 hour. I am so pumped. Thanks for the inspiration. Janie |

Bella: You asked what I think about maintenance and the ideal weight. I too am 5'7.5" - and when I was in my 20's I got down to 122#. Now that I'm in my 60's the lowest I got to was 126#. All my bones showed (neck, chest). In fact my head looked to big for my body. Plus my skin really sagged on my legs and arms. I maintained at that weight for about a few weeks. I then was between 126# and 131# for a few months and while on the cruise I weighed in on the spa scale at 134#.
I think that the 120's are too low for me because I look horrible with my ribs showing, etc. I look like I'm anorexic. The low 130#s are better for me. I know I can maintain that weight when I stop eating junk! tee hee. If I could stay around 130-135 I'd be happy. I look more "filled in" instead of sick. Now you know what I think about maintenance As soon as I start eating fruit - the triggers and cravings start all over again for me.

Isnt it weird how the same weight can look different on people.
I am only about 5 '1 but I am aiming for 132lbs at this weight I am a US6 and look really good. Once I hit 132 I want to get back down to 118 - 125. According to a lot of the charts I should be aiming for about 105 .... I cant imagine how horrible I would look at that weight. Anyway I am 11lbs down today and 19 to go. Hmmmm 19lbs in 28 days ... it close to the rate I have been losing so far so will do my best to get close as possible. My biggest issue at the moment is exercise - i am not doing any most days and when I do its minimal. I am sure if I started getting on the treadmill again it would help me. Just need to do it! |

How nice of you to ask.... I'm doing great and have been real strict on this WOE even though I haven't been feeling too great. Real tired and can't sleep at night. After just one to two hours of sleep I'm up and not tired. Drives me insane.
Finally turned on the AC tonight and hopefully that will help with my feeling so pooped. I generally have a ton of energy - maybe I'm not eating enough but have no appetite.... |

The First Life-Changing Week, eat nothing that is not on the list.
Meat: Steaks, Corned beef, Lamb chops, tongue, Hamburgers, Bacon, Any kind of meat in any quantity—except meat with fillers such as sausage, hot dogs, meatballs, most packaged “cold cuts” Sample menu, level one: Breakfast: Scrambled eggs with spicy ham, Diet revolution roll and butter, Bouillon, coffee, or tea Lunch: Cold cuts sandwich on Diet revolution Roll w/ mayo or I find that weird lol is that menu from the book? .... is bacon a filler meat?..... sausage huh.... wish i had known before i bought 4 packages ![]() Last edited by AlmondBear; 06-10-2007 at 09:01 PM.. |

Almond,
I think bacon in moderation is ok. A filler meat would be hot dogs and packaged hams which could have sugar. Read the labels on everything you buy! Bella |

I havent been to this thread for quite some time. I fell off the wagon a little while (about a week) but now I'm back on. I lose so slowly that when I have a minor glitch, it does make a difference. I must have an extremely slow metablism.
If it weren't for the rev rolls, I'd have an even tougher time with this woe. I find them to be a delicious snack with just butter on them, but they are also great for sandwiches and with "dippy" eggs. I've been on Atkins for a few months now, so I am eating cheese, lots more veggies, and some yogurt once in a while. I also started to take some calcium/Vit D and some magnesium because I have read that cal helps to reduce belly fat. I am also planning to exercise more now that the weather is nice (although it was 50 this morning when I got up) because we have a pool and I can get in there and just keep moving. I can't swim, but I just love to ride the "noodle". So, if it's OK, I'd like to post more on your thread. I need the accountability. Peony |

Thanks, Jaimie. I really had hoped this would go faster, but like my DH says, it didn't come on overnight either. I've been carrying most of this weight for 22 years.

Thanks, Bella. You are an inspiration to those of us who lose so slowly.
![]() Today I decided maybe I should exercise more, so I went to curves in the am and then came home and trimmed some bushes. After that, I was so hot that I went into the pool and moved around on my noodle (I can't swim) for about 45 min. and later I pulled weeds. ![]() My arms have been feeling like mush. I remember one time when my son was little, he told me my upper arms felt like a baggie full of tapioca pudding. ![]() ![]() If he could feel them now, he may say they are more like soft jello.I really wanted to lose weight by the end of August, but even more by the end of September for my high school class reunion. I know that we are all old and everyone knows that, but I would like to lose because I'm on the reunion committee and all the women on that committee are slim. Fifi, when I was in my 20s and 30s my normal weight was between 145 and 150. I was always on a diet because I thought I was fat. I'd give anything to be that weight again. In fact, I'd love to even weigh 165 or 185 or just under 200 would be good now.![]() Peony |

Hello, all! I've been laying low for a while because I was not having success. Decided to do K/E after reading the "Ask Kimmer" thread.
I made it to the 140's today! Just barely at 149, but I am thrilled! After K/E, I'll switch to Kimkins and ease back into Atkins 72. I know Kimkims is not going to be doable for me for long - I'm going to get bored. Plus, I want to know what triggers me to gain. |
