Good morning ladies! Well, sorry to sound like a broken record, but today is 7 days and no movement on the scale. I am not discouraged, and still feel great, but of course I need to see some numbers move.

Here's my menu from yesterday:

B - coffee
L - eggs/bacon/diet soda
D - cup of lettuce with oil/vinegar
S - pork rinds

I don't skip breakfast on purpose. If I'm hungry, I do eat - heck, I love to eat! LOL

I'd appreciate any suggestions to get me really going.

Juicy - welcome! You are doing really well!! Keep it up!!

You might want to cut out the bacon and pork rinds for a few days and see if that makes a difference. It could be your body is retaining fluids ..... Try substituting SF jello for a snack at night.... If you do decide to try this experiment - let me know what happens....

OK gals - time to come clean. I told you I was starting over this morning and I hemmed and hawwed around not wanting to get on the scale. Well I finally did after three cups of coffee. I am now at a grand total of 146.6# - up from 126# last August. I knew it would be bad because of the crap I've been eating the last 5 months.

NO MORE!!!!! I am going to get back down to that range again. So there - I am declaring that this is the end. There is no way I am going back to 183#. I am now going to change my stats - I am going to post my high weight on my spread sheet ..... and I will post everyday as a participant - not just a person giving advice and not following it myself. What a hypocrite I have been and not much of an inspiration. Who was I fooling?

I will also weigh myself daily and be accountable to all of you!

Cheryl - I think you are anything but a hypocrite! You may have experienced a gain - but look at all you have accomplished! AND you are here proclaiming that you are going to get on track. To me, that is the fighting attitude of a winner - and true mentor! Hey, I'll race you to the 130's!

Thanks for the suggestions about the bacon and porkrinds. I'll do it. I don't even enjoy the porkrinds - I just need that crunch, you know?

New mini goal for me: 140 by June 8th (day after my birthday and first day of weekend get-away).

Morning everyone. I am quite the slacker and have not done anything except lose and regain 4 pounds since I got back from vacation. I know I should be starting today but it's not happening. SO, my big commitment is - no matter what - I start back full swing - exercise and eating - Tuesday, May 29th! I MAY try before that because I don't want too many consequences, but that's my drop dead date to begin. Wish me luck - I'll be lurking 'til then!

Furkid - I know what you mean. That's what did me in - vacation! Went on a cruise - fit as a fiddle - and the last four days of an 11 night cruise I started eating things I shouldn't have. It continued until today and the 20# gain is the result of that. Who was I kidding - of course I will gain when I eat that crap. Another tell tale sign was falling asleep in the afternoon and sleeping later in the morning. When I was on it full force I was up and adam by 4AM - even walking in the neighborhood because I couldn't fall back to sleep. All the signs were there - but I continued to lie to myself.

I just cannot handle carbs - too much of a trigger for me to go hog wild. The doctor had told me many years ago that I will have to follow this WOE the rest of my life. He sure was right!

Oh Bella - thank you for the kind words. You don't know how hard it was to get on the scale this morning (especially after a few cups of coffee).... I did not want to face reality.... ignorance is bliss!

I did real good yesterday and jumped on the scale and went from 146.6 to 143.8 in one day! So it's going in the right direction.

Jaimie: I do feel better physically but I still have a long way to go. If I did it before I can do it again. It's just a matter of not indulging in junk food. I keep asking myself why do I do that when ultimately I just gain weight and feel horrible? Maybe there is a deep seated issue that I like to punish myself

Hi Cheryl, I agree with Bella - you are our hero and will remain so Maybe one day we'll learn how to vacation and stay on program. I also believe it is easy enough if you go away for a few days, but like you, I was gone over 2 weeks and that kind of stuff just breaks down your will power - or at least broke down mine. Hey, I'm just happy I managed to log on - for me that's a start!

Furkid: I know what you mean about vacation and it breaking down the willpower for weeks and sometimes months after. It's like a light switch isn't it.

Like I promised I got on the scale this morning and yesterday I was 143. 8 and this morning I am 142.3# Yippee! Two days ago I was 146.6 so that is a grand total loss of 4.3#. I'll take that!

YEAH Cheryl!! Awesome!!! I'm so happy for you!!

Now how can I get some results like that??? Still no change in the scale. Put on my "tight" jeans today - no change.

Now I am officially discouraged. Certainly someone has experienced this type of no loss and found a way out??? I posted on the weekly thread and didn't get any ideas except maybe to add in some more veggies.

Don't know what I am going to do.

Are you eating salty stuff? How long have you been stalled? Are you "backed up" There has to be a reason for the stall. What about drinking a lot of liquids - are you running to the bathroom all the time or retaining fluids?

Don't get discouraged! I know my loss will start slowing down .... but I'll take whatever I can get.

Yesterday I had one hard boiled egg and for dinner I had a few brussel sprouts and a roast beef. I had 3 SF orange sunkist soda but no SF jello. I don't eat that much cause I'm not hungry - so why eat!!!!

Do you have your menu planned for the upcoming holiday?

Welcome Shelly ..... You will love it here.
Go up to "user control panel" and click on edit signature and edit profile..... you can make changes and add picture. I think that should work for you....

Fifi,
A couple of random thoughts on stalls...I am having a tough time myself. I know that cheese is an issue for me, it makes me retain water. TOM is also an issue for me where I stall for quite a while. Honestly, I feel like I only have hope of the scale moving at all 2 weeks out of the month!

Good morning,

Cheryl! WTG!!

Yesterday I had WAY too much fun shopping! I bought the cutest top at chicos (see below) and it was so unusual because it is quite dramatic and a bold pattern. I would NEVER have worn this before losing nearly 60 lbs!
And I also got my new Eileen Fisher in the mail (the photos below are the shirt, which I got in India Sky Blue which is pictured in the third photo)
and I am SO excited! This is one of the rewards of staying on plan.....

I hope everyone has a great lowcarb day!

As for me, the thing is, I don't even consider this a "stall" because I have not lost anything at all in 8 days. I did cut out the salt and soda, and I have not had cheese at all. I am now only eating eggs, meat, lettuce, and water. I am "regular", too. The laws of physics alone say I should have gone down even if a pound or two.

What the heck?

congrats,, They are so nice.. I wish I could get more weight off before my b-day on july 10th.. I want to try for 20.. Well so If I`m not hungry should I eat or no.. cause I heard you are to eat small meals about 6 and i dont even eat that many times i usually eat 2 or 3 times.. any suggestions...

Yesterday I ate a bunless burger lunch

Hi again!

While I have been losing my rate was about 3 lbs a week but there was one week I only lost 1 lb and I was SO upset! Then the following week I lost 5!
So all I can say it look very clearly at your plan, track it in ****** and see if you are eating any hidden carbs. And how much are you eating? Sometimes too many calories can stall you. (even Dr A said this in his second book).

Bella (not stalking you, really) don't know if you were replying to Juicy or to me or both, but truly I am at a loss. The most carbs I could have had in the past 2 days is 10 each day.

The whole point of induction is to start the weight loss. I know it works as I have done it before. So, since I should be well on my way to weight loss, I am right now.

I guess I'll see what happens over the long weekend.
