Bella: I think that the carb count for butter/garlic is almost ZERO. Now I think shell seafood has more carbs than fish. Just like organ meats have carbs. Don't worry about it - you had a good time. Thank goodness I don't eat anything that lives in the water so I just have to worry about other things.

Hey guys, long time no see. Been busy with the kids lately it being so nice out, so i havent really had the chance to visit here. I fell off the wagon a few weeks ago
. I was doing ok, i had lost 10lbs after 3 weeks on it. i woke up one morning to find that i had gained 5 lbs!!!!!! i weigh every morning. Well needles to say, i got discouraged and went off, i know i shouldnt have, and since then i packed on a few extra more that i seriously didnt need. I want to lose this darn weight, i feel as though i cant have any fun with my family cause im so embarresed of my weight. I also cant understand the slow weight loss the the sudden 5lbs gain, and no it wasnt anything i ate cause i was eating almost the same thing for the 3 weeks. I need some encouragement, and some answers i guess. Im so sorry for the long post but i needed to vent, and u guys seem to know what to say. Thanks for listening. |

Oh Bella!!!! You look beautiful and what are those collar bones I see poking out on both sides of your neck?
Thank you so much for sharing the picture ...... by the way how was the steak yesterday?Have you given it any thought as to how you are going to do maintenance? Only 5# to goal is such great news! I'm very proud of you. What an inspiration you are to all of us. You stayed the course and didn't waiver....... |

Thanks so much Cheryl and I hadnt even noticed my collarbones! Another perk
Maintenance- well, I have thought about it alot. I think I will add in more veggies, and some fruit a couple times a week. Ive been looking at people's maintenance menus and they are still low carb! So it seems that my plan wont change all that much, but maybe more variety. I would love to add in a little Peanut Butter a couple times a week, I have missed it. But Im not sure cause it's really a trigger food I think. How are you doing?? Bella |

I think your plan sounds good ..... walk before running! I as well love peanut butter and when I've ran out of cashews I will just have 1tsp and it doesn't seem to trigger any cravings for me. In fact it takes away the cravings for nuts - just one little teaspoon.
I think you and I are the only ones on this thread ..... don't know where everyone has disappeared to. |

(slowing creeping in...
) Hello, all! It's been a couple of weeks since I have been here. I'd like to say it's because I was at goal and that I had my diet under control...but I can't say that. I am restarting my restart. I have no excuses, although I know my triggers have been a lot of stress and some sadness. My current plan is to do meat/eggs for the next three days. Then I'm back on Cheryl's plan. And I am back here for support. I hope each of you are having lots of success!

FiFi: Welcome back! I have a question - while you were off plan - how did you feel physically?
I'm glad you are back and on plan. I too have been struggling with triggers .... so back on plan. Got some nice mushrooms and steak for grilling. No need to go off plan with the junk food! |

Cheryl, do you count your calories? I wonder how many a day you are eating on maintenance? Bella |

I know Kimmer recommends to eat fewer calories during weightloss and the people on her site are losing a ton of weight. Then during maintenance they can add back in some foods that higher calories and carbs. One gal just lost 100# in 5 months and will be in the June issue of Women's magazine. Also the magazine picked up another member to be in that same issue. The weightloss is unbelievable and in such a short period of time.
For me I think I basically stick to the same foods - not much of a variety person. Then if I do have something off plan (during maintenance), I follow strictly LC for a few days. That's what I did on the cruise...

Cheryl: thanks for the welcome back! I have been feeling miserable about myself. With every bite I was fighting within, knowing I was the cause of my own pain. But, I am more clear headed and I am ready to recommit.
I have not done just meat and eggs before, so I am excited to see my results in 3 days. That info on the "losers" on kimkins is amazing. Good for them. I hope I can obtain a fraction of that success! ![]() |

Hi everyone
I have never thought of myself as tiny (Im 5 ft 7) but I will take the compliment, thankyou! My dh's new nickname for me is "Slim"! My suggestion would be to create a solid plan for yourself and stick to it. I havent varied one day in the past 4 months which is why I have lost 57 pounds! If you would like specifics, I can give you those too. Cheryl really helped me when I was first starting- and also the Atkins 72 first thread which lists the diet exactly! If you follow that, and dont have any faux foods like bars, shakes, lowcarb chocolate (NONE of which are induction foods) and also exercise 20 lbs should come off in no time! Let me know if I can be any more help. Bella |

Dear Slim:
I am so so proud of you! I too am 5'7.5" (Notice I put the 1/2" in) and what I found is I always thought I hid my weight pretty well being taller. Who was I kidding? You've been such an inspiration to all of us and I know we hope you will continue to come here and help the rest of us. We all need encouragement from a winner.... ![]() |

Morning! I hope everyone is enjoying their Friday - I am so happy to have the weekend looming!
Sheila - you are doing awesome!! Glad you are going to check in over here. I'd love to know how you stay motivated and successful. Cheryl and Bella - that's for the constant encouragement. Sticking to plan is key, I know it. I just have to learn to change my reaction to my triggers. It's day two and I feel great. Yesterday was meat and eggs all day. The scale did not move this morning (I'm a daily weigher), but I didn't expect anything yet. I'm having eggs again for breakfast and lunch. Dinner will probably be bunless burgers as my two young kids and I always have take-out on Friday evenings. Wish me luck for another "on plan" day. ![]() |

Bella: Good morning to you as well!
I found that when I increased my carbs my appetite returned. I much preferred forcing myself to eat than looking for something to stuff in my mouth. If you have increased your carbs that could be the explanation. Let me know what you think or what you discover... |

Thanks, Cheryl. Today is day three - doing well. I did not plan meals per se, but I know I am going to be doing mainly protein. We went out to breakfast at IHOP today and I was pleased to see they had a "special" menu section that included low carb options. My plate was huge and kept me satisfied all day.
I now have another motivator: weekend trip away for my birthday. That's in 3 weeks...so I should see quite a difference by then. How is everyone else doing? |
