Pardon me for butting in, but I make my RR's with mayonaisse, and that's "legal" for the first weeks.

I started yesterday. . .made savories yesterday and plain ones today.

They are not that bad, prep IMHO.

Sheila, I remember you from another thread here. . .about a year ago.

So , Im jumping back on the bandwagon with you all.

Thanks. How much mayo instead of cream cheese or cottage cheese? I will have to make homemade mayo. My mayo has Sugar as an ingred.
Lets see. I was in callanetics? I might have even stopped in Atkins. Dont remember. LOL

I got the book at a yard sale for 25 cents two weeks ago and started on the 26th.
I was 199, today I'm 189!! I'm enjoying this so much.
I started with the new plan
than switched to south beach but get talked out of it by well meaning relatives and rejoined
weight watchers for the umpteenth time. I gained on it because I was hungry and then
I found kimmer and I lost on that but missed the fat and was looking at suzanne sommers
plan when I took a walk and found this book at the yard sale.
I also restarted callanetics too! I'm sore but happy because I know how good it will make
me look and feel!

Sheila, I used 3 T. of mayo in the RR. Actually, I used 5 T. mayo and 1 T. ricotta. . .for a double batch. Turned out LOVELY!!! I'm so impressed they turned out since one time I forgot the Cream of Tartar. Whoooooooooops! Still turned out!

Now I gotta go check my mayo for sugar.

It hides everywhere!

Will the 3T of cream cheese really be that bad in the rolls? I am curious about this. How will they taste with Mayo instead? Sue

I made my salad for lunch today with out avacado in it. I was sad, but I lived. lol I did not think I could, but I did.

Is it that bad to have veges in the first week after induction? I know about the 2 cups of lettuce, but what about green veges? I would like to eat 2 things on my plate for dinner. Does that make sense?

Is the 1973 edition book the same?

Tia: Thank you for remembering me.

I too started gaining weight back adding in more carby stuff. It just doesn't work for me. I did get down to 126# but then in Dec. started eating stuff I shouldn't.

My doctor was sooooo right when he told me that for the rest of my life I really couldn't afford to go over 20-30 carbs a day if I wanted to stay at my goal weight. Why oh why didn't I believe him?

I think I've only tasted havarty..(not really sure if that's a "Wax" kind) and Asiago...

THANKS!
I think Havarty cheese is processed - so that would be a no/no. I absolutely love Fontinella Cheese and also Treasure Cave Bleu Cheese. Also check out Kraft cheese. What about parmesean cheese triangles that you grate yourself?

Good for you - get it out of the house. I know how hard it is when it calls your name from the refrigerator... I also like cream cheese - but would never just spoon some in my mouth ......

Now if I could just get a handle on the butter issue. I like a few veggies with a ton of butter. I really should start experimenting with spices - maybe that would cure my love of butter.

One thing I did the other day when I made SF orange - instead of the cup of cold water I substituted 1 C of Sunkist orange soda and also put in some dried orange peel that you buy in the small bottles. It was excellent.

Hi there: It looks good except I noticed you started in March and I thought asparagus was a no/no I'm probably wrong because I don't have the book. Aren't you on induction? Also I know nothing about the revolution rolls - don't know what are in those. Everything else looks great.... So now it's your time to educate me. By the way I also love asparagus!

Cheryl, interesting what your doctor has said. . .I might be in the same boat. . .I controlled calories by starvation when I was in my 20's. . .and stayed thin. . .but it needs to be either carbs low for me (and I don't know that number) or calories way low--1200 calories, more or less, at least that is what I think at this time.

The calorie way is not acceptable to me. . .as I stay hungry when I eat carbs.

Wish I'd listened to your doctor in the past, and not just this last 7 years of lCing. . .I did Optifast back before Oprah did. . .and just didn't get the carb/calorie connection. Plus the time I did every other diet in the world!! Including Atkins '72 back in '73!!!!!

I agree with you on continuing to keep carbs low after reaching goal. The more carbs I start adding back in the more hungry I get and the more hungry I get the more I eat thus the more weight I gain. I'm not a big exerciser - just walking and Bodyflex bar (without the breathing)

The calorie diet does not work for me either. If I don't keep the carbs low - I get hungry even with lower calories. I guess it is just low carbs all the way with an occasional indulgence. That is my sentence!

Ten years ago, I followed the 1972 Atkins book. To this day, I don't count "net carbs." I lost 105 pounds. Although many variations have surfaced of the Atkins diet, I stick with the original.

Wow - that is close! What a coincidence! I live in Sugarmill - south of Hwy. 98.

I agree with you - I don't figure net carbs - all a bunch of you-know-what. That would really put me in denial.

Great news on your weightloss. I see you just reinduced - how much do you want to lose?

My MIL lives in Spring Hill. What a small world.

Cheryl, I know asparagus is not on induction, but I did not want them to go to waste so I ate them. filled me up. I think the rev. rolls are on induction. I have not gotten my book yet, but I think I read that on this website. I got the 1973 edition and hope that one is the same.
