Yay for you!!! i have found that it gets easier. I am on day 20, and that's the longest I've been in 35 years. The only time I have wished for some wine was on a particularly nice day off this past weekend when I usually would be sitting out by the pool reading and sipping wine.

It's the truth, Michelle. The obsession to drink is lifted so long as we don't take the first drink.

Yes, Bella, that's what I feel too. I say the Serenity Prayer. I have accepted the things I cannot change just for today and changed the things I can. I continue to pray to know the difference.

Still going here. Same friend is starting to annoy me a bit with it. Yesterday I text her and told her I got my yard done, bought a new patio table and was going to get some chairs and she said, well now we need to get some wine and sit out there. I said no, I'm not drinking alcohol. She never texted me back and I deleted her texts so I wouldn't have to see the conversation about alcohol.

I'm not sure what day I'm on, but it's a heck of a lot longer than I have been in a long while.

Losing track of how long sounds like a good thing, Michelle.
Sometimes it does help to change our routines and if necessary who we socialize with, especially if the alcohol is a central part of the attraction.

I received a message from my sister that her husband was in a head on collision.
He was life flighted to Wichita and they are trying to stabilize him before they can do needed surgery. She has a good support network so not much I can do right now except to wait and pray. His spine and head are ok, but major internal injuries and lots of broken bones.

Have any updates Bella?

Love the new picture Mary!

Still chugging a long here. Yesterday was the first day I've had that "taste" in my mouth for alcohol. BF and I have been having some tiffs, nothing major, but that always tends to trigger my wanting to drink. I didn't.

Way to go Michelle. I do think everytime we resist we get a bit stronger.
I also remember how those tiffs are major triggers. Proud of you!

Mary thanks for the photo, you are lovely!

BIL (whose is named BILL) is holding steady. Surgeons set a leg, but weren't comfortable keeping him under sedation long enough to the needed chest cavity work. They are keeping him in zombie land so that he doesn't move about and make matters worse. He is very swollen so they've have to keep draining fluid. We are all hoping for a good day today. My sister sounded a bit more optimistic.

Thanks, Mary. Texts from sis are sounding a bit better.
Docs are trying to bring him out of sedation to see how he follows voice commands.
They may set an arm tomorrow. They set a leg on Friday.
So, defo some progress. Appreciate the prayers.

How are things going with your daughter?

Bella, glad things are looking a bit better and Mary I'm glad your daughter is still fighting.

I'm still AF. The longer I go the easier it gets. I think I'm coming up on a month. Maybe a bit over. I wish I woulda wrote it down.

Yes! Very near a month, Michelle.

Need to go to an event tonight at a local winery. I am mentally prepared to pass on the alcohol.
I kind of want to not go, but I guess I will.

Yeah on the month Ms. Woods! You are looking great in your new avatar pic.

Hang tough Bella!

I'm still doing well. I think about it from time to time but not too much. The last time I had two measly glasses of wine I woke up in the middle of the night feeling horrible. Felt pretty bad the next day also. I needed to eat more just to clear my head and gut.

That memory is what is keeping me strong.

I survived it yeah! I thought about buying some wine as a gift for the organizers, but decided against it. I still may do that, as it would support a local business and both of the hardworking organizers seemed to enjoy the wine. I had hoped to avoid the catered meal, but it ran late so I had to not refuse the lasagne. No hassle. I did accept a small serving of a veggie medley side dish of squash, eggplant, and sweet potatoes. I discreetly (sort of) trashed the sweet potatoes. It's hard for me to throw food away, and had I been serving myself I'd have avoided that. But still, I stayed on plan! My lunch was a sort of a greek salad in a crepe, and I just ate the inside of the crepe.

Great job Bella! Very proud of you.

Thanks Erin on the compliment.

I'm still going. TOM just got here and in the past if I was abstaining that was always my "pass" to drink, because I don't lose weight when it's here and I always feel so aweful. But I will not this time. I hope I get rewarded on the scale when it's gone.

But I AM popping Aleve like it's going out of style

I am back home. The workshop was great in content. I stayed on plan but only because I decided to stay at a local hotel instead of the main site. The food was good but high carb and low protein and fat. I ate lunches with the group and managed ok. Was relieved when the final lunch was an omelette which was totally ok. I was talking myself into drinking on Saturday night (I was tired!), but managed to talk my self out of it. So relieved I didn't. It wouldn't have been the end of my resolve, but I am glad I don't have to start over today! It was the closest I've come to drinking since the end of March.

Michelle, I am hoping you are feeling good and strong today as you enter month two!!

How are yall?

I'm still going here. My weight isn't coming off as fast as it did last year, but I'm also eating more. Trying to not just go rogue, because obviously that didn't work in the long run.

Still AF.

Are you feeling stronger?
I craved a bit on Saturday, but those days are few and far between now.
Good for you. It's easy to get discouraged about weight not coming off fast, but if I am learning anything on this forum it is that persistence and patience is the ticket.
I don't have much choice, as I am not going back.
