Hiya lushies.
Had a good night last, a little crazy but fun. Hoping for a date night with hubby tonight.. have shopping to do and of course, housework..

Still waiting on my saliva hormone results.. havent gotten answers yet...TOM is here 4 days early another sign of hormone imbalance. Cant wait to start treatment. Im planning a total elimination diet at the same time and strict induction.. no booze. I will be driving this wagon!

Hope you all are well, miss you, come check in

Hey Tracy! Love the new thread, it's beautiful and sunny here in Toronto today. Just got back from taking my girls to ballet (well the older one, the youngest just tagged along) Will be interested to hear about your saliva results. Good plan on the elimination diet and strict induction. I will support you! I plan to return to induction after the holiday (also going to low carb on the holiday with the exception of drinks and maybe a few treats)
I have a week to go of this protein only plan and I can't for it to be over. I miss my veggies! Can't wait for a big salad again. Hope everyone is having a great weekend

Oh.. id sure miss my veggies too A!
Whats the temp there today? Its still about 80-85 here.. yuck!

Were having a turkey breast roast for dinner and its smelling up the house.. everyones hungry now!
I think i'll make a spinich/ cabbage salad from W-mart with a spicy tex mex dressing (SOO good) and steam some new potatoes with butter for the kids.

No date night for us t'nite.. too much rain in the area. BOOhoo.. think we'll order up a payper view movie, do showers and pjs early and hunker down for family time
I have my sweet 2 year old niece this weekend and she's a clone to Caylee Anthony
So hard to look at this sweet baby and think about chloroforming her, duct taping her mouth, stuffing her in 2 laundry bags and dumping her in the swampy woods to decompose and be eaten by animals.. then go out and party ... wow!

Hi ladies!
I woke up to woosh this morning, down another pound. 144.5 So happy I rocked out a 5 km run first thing in 32 minutes. Felt awesome. Still drink free, day 12. It's beautiful today, in the low 70's but crisp and fall like. 6 days to go...I am sticking to plan 100%
Had some delicious chicken thighs for dinner last night with peri peri sauce ( a portugese roasted red pepper sauce) was so good. Lunch today was leftovers and tonight my hubby is grilling up some extra lean homemade hamburgers.
Hope everyone is having a good weekend!
xo A

Ainsley, you're doing so well . . . congrats!!
Tracy, it's rainy here too, but not muggy. It's cooler, and really getting windy. Fall is definitely in the air.
Well ladies, I'm at an all-time high, and thoroughly disgusted with myself. I'm having yogurt and fruit for breakfast. Lunch is a staff get together, which means pizza. Then dinner will be crack slaw. I absolutely refuse to keep feeling/looking this way. Drinking was WAY down over the weekend . . . maybe one drink a night. I've made a new rule - don't go to bed to read with a drink. Sounds simple, but it's working for me!!

Hey girls! I had another woosh today, 143.5!! I think that 5 km run I did yesterday blasted off another pound. I read the best blog today on dietdoctor.com on a self experiment he did on himself and diet pop affecting his ketone levels. I know I have been drinking way too much coke zero since I gave up wine and also splenda in my tea and sugar free gum. Going to cut out all of that until I leave to see if it improves results. god help me, I'm down to water and green tea and black coffee. Life is just a ton of fun over here! lol.

I'm so confused - is this our current thread?
Well, yesterday was good. Which is really saying something since we got a call at 4AM from DS#2 from the emergency room!! I swear, I don't know what's worse - having little ones so dependent on you, or adult children who live too far away to help!! Anyway, it all turned out - he has an extreme stomach virus. He's a school social worker and constantly around little ones, and the ER doc says he caught it there. Thank God he has a sweetheart of a girlfriend who was with him the whole time.

Hey girls! Sorry I have been MIA. Did we lose Kim?
Kacey, I also hope your son is ok

You guys want to keep one really long thread or change up every now and then?
Doesnt matter to me, im easy.

Ainsley- you're making us all jealous here lady! You are going to look smoking hot for your trip!
My DH drinks a TON of coke zero.. all that artificial sweetner can stall weight loss. I drink alot of those flavored ICE waters and they are sweetned with Splenda
I wish there were more Stevia flavored products.

I just got my saliva hormone profile results.
Estradiol is 1.1 (1.3-3.3)
Progesterone is 55 (75-270)
Ratio: Pg/ E2 is 50 (100-500)
Testosterone is 36 (16-55)
DHEAS is 5 (2-23)
Corisol AM is 6 (3.7-9.5)

SSOOOOO- im progesterone deficient. I knew it. This Bio doc is very, very anal about when to test/ treat and how much. Apparently it is a very specific thing. She is starting me on progesterone cream from day 10-24 of each month and wants me back in 6 weeks. She also wants me to have my fasting blood sugar done to rule out diabetes.
Maybe, I can FINALLY get some relief. So, on the 10th, I start the cream, very clean LC eating and very, very little drinking.

Tracey! Glad to hear you have some answers...hopefully the cream will help. Get that fasting sugar checked for sure. Low carb eating is the best way to prevent/treat diabetes so either way you are on the right track.
Kim- glad to have you back! Lets keep this thread going for a while. I think we should do a monthly thread? what do u think?

Tracy- I am 15 days on the wagon now. Weighed in at 143 today, plan to go on another 5 km run tonight so hoping to blast off another pound by tomorrow! I'm feeling awesome the past few days, I'm in deep ketosis so appetite has bee non-existent. Love not getting cravings. Also cutting out the artificial sweetners has been really good for me. Only 2 works days left, I'm off on Friday and then we leave first thing sat morning. Getting so excited

Had another good night, so - 2 days on the wagon. Not as good as everyone else, but still, something. My girls' trip is next week - I fly out to Baltimore on Monday, then on to Atlantic City. I am so ready for this.

Gosh Ainsley im excited for you! I hope you have a blast.
Kathy- you too! Good job on 2 nights on the wagon
Gotta start somewhere.
Im figuring (for me) what the heck.. until i get my hormones treated im not losing weight anyway.. might as well have a drink..

BUT, im hoping to start anew next wednesday. With KIMMY! Wherever she is..

I did jazzercise today and it was all new routines with a packed house. Too fun!
The instructors daughter is in class alot and brings her 6 month old bald baby boy, OMG what a sweet distraction from the pain. He is adorable and pulls himself all over the room. Mama is constantly chasing him. I think someone needs a pack and play!

About to head out. Will check back with you ladies in the morning. Have a great (and safe) nite!

Of course we all! How are you? Have you been low carbing long? We are a very fun bunch here. Some of us have not had a drink in many weeks, some hours, some days. I'm 4 days in and usually I only drink only on the weekend and try to stay LC throughout.

Again!

Thanks for the welcomes!

More about me:

I'm 36, I live in Texas, I'm single and my two sons are both feline. I am basically a crazy knitting cat lady spinster, and I am happy with that.

I have been pretty lean most of my life, but in my late twenties the beer caught up to me and I got fat. I don't know how fat, exactly, because I was afraid to weigh until I had lost some weight, and I was down to 150 lbs. I got down to 150 by switching from beer to wine (and, briefly, vodka, which was an unmitigated disaster). Then I went low-carb and have had promising success with it, but I know that I will never reach my goal weight guzzling wine.

Has anyone noticed that you get intoxicated more quickly when eating low-carb? Anywho, thanks again for allowing me to join in and I look forward to getting to know you all.

So, i got to thinking about this 3 month wait to see the neurosurgeon at UAB and thought, ridiculous.
So I googled "chiari malformation specialists" in my area and a Dr. Feldman popped up. Quite an impressive repoir.. he helped the local neurological center here, win top awards 3 years in a row for the entire state and then opened his own practice.

Comprehensive Neurological and Spine Care | Ft. Walton Beach, FL - Florida Institute of Neuroscience

So then I call them. I ask if Dr. Feldman does many decompression surgeries. They said well yes! All the time. They say he is one of the best and uses a minimal invasive procedure. I then ask how long THEIR wait is. 3 weeks
I called my insurance company. They said, well, we see he is on the list of providers and since you havent used your referral yet, we can just switch up the surgeon. I can see him in 3 weeks
