Thank you Kim! Easy week because I had it all planned up! "free time" is my problem time. I'm always looking for "reduced for quick sale" meats at my grocery store too! I always feel like I've hit the jackpot when I get to it before someone else!

The chicken thing....way back 100 years ago in elementary school we hatched eggs and cracked one open every day for the 21 day cycle. That pretty much did me in with chicken and eggs! My husband is a poultry farmer and we have big chicken houses and some of that stuff is kind of gross too. He and my boys all love chicken though!

I love to cook in my crock pots but my boys say that everything taste exactly the same from it, no matter what it is! I finally started wrapping my pork roast in foil and putting a little water in the bottom of the crock and it keeps the juices in like the oven does. They seemed to like that better. So did I.

takin.it.off....that day after a little too much is definitly a big food day! It is wasted calories both days I agree! Good luck to you!!

Day 4 yippy doing it

Trying a new recipe tonight, crockpot lasagna low carb. Sounds very good, but we will see what the kids think.

Hope everybody is doing good and hanging in there. Have a great day.

Hello Ladies/Gents: I'm day 5 NO cocktails.

-1.8 lbs down this morning..... The woosh fairy is still hanging around me!

I also started up the old crockpot this morning. I got a whole chicken cut up and making some Jerk chicken. I think I'll try the faux mash potatoes or rice. I haven't tried it before, but so far good reviews. Enjoy this hot day if you're on the East Coast.

No Alcohol

Hi,

My 10th day on Atkins and no alcohol. I hope it lasts but I seem OK without it. The scale isn't showing much re owl but my pants felt much better on me than a few weeks ago. That is neat. Thanks for being here.

Steam cauliflower and cream cheese. Did you mash it up or slathered on the cream cheese? Just curious!

Ohh, NICE on Day 4... good job!

Everyone is doing so well! It's day 3 for me and 3 days low carb, as well. I can't do induction cold turkey, I have to ease into it. I can't wait to have a week under my belt. This is my heaviest weight in my life and I've got to get it off.

I'm all for crockpot cooking. Mmm, jerk chicken - Kim, if you have time can you give us the crockpot recipe? Keep cool! It's going to be HOT here (inland) on the West Coast, too.

Pcaltman: Mind sharing the low carb crockpot lasagne if it turns out good? Thanks.

Good afternoon!

Day 3 on induction but ooops!! Ended up having a shot of vodka in my diet coke last night .. not going to beat myself up over it tho, thats still great for me. Moving forward and not looking back!

Made a delicious taco salad last night! Yummy chicken wings and salad for lunch.. feeling pretty good.

I am feeling a bit dizzy with a bit of a headache but trying to ignore it.

One thing I KNOW I am going to have to do to make this work for me is to prep more things to eat so they are available for me in a moments notice. The other obvious thing is avoid the booze and drink more H2O!!

Day 5

Being good. Hubby said we should get wine for this weekend and I told him no. I was doing this challenge with some friends and wont drink Arent you proud anyway, still hanging in there.

Take.it.off - Don't worry too much, just keep going you will do it.

Kim - I love the mash it up together. Hubby love baked cauliflower so I will take my portion and add a little cream cheese to it, mush but yummy.

Mauigal - I got the recipe from yourlighterside. It was ok, then I really liked it. Might tweak it a bit. Add more ground beef or sausage, less cheese, less spinach, things like that.

Crockpot Lasagna

1 lb. hamburger
1 jar pizza sauce
1 Tbsp garlic powder
2 Tbsp parsley
1 medium zucchini, shredded (about 8-10″ long)
3 cups fresh spinach
2 cups cottage cheese
3 cups shredded Mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup Parmesan cheese

Brown hamburger in skillet and drain. Wipe 6 quart crockpot with oil. Spread a thin layer of pizza sauce in bottom of crockpot. Spread 1/2 of hamburger over the sauce. Stir remaining pizza sauce into hamburger, along with garlic powder and parsley. Layer zucchini and then spinach over hamburger. Top with 1/2 of the cottage cheese, spreading evenly. Sprinkle with 1 c. of Mozzarella cheese. Top with 1/2 of hamburger mixture, spreading evenly. Then top with veggies. Sprinkle with the rest of the mozzarella cheese and sprinkle Parmesan on top. Cook on low 3-1/2 to 4-1/2 hours. Let rest for 10 minutes. Cut into wedges.

Makes 8 servings.

Good Job on Day 5 Pcaltman !

I'm day 6 and and I didn't have any cravings for it last night. Althouh husband wanted to go to Karoke Bar and sing. NO WAY Jose for me. Not now. My birthday is coming soon. I will have a drink or 3 then. LOL

Crockpot Lasagn sounds really good. I will add it to my list of "tried this". LOL

So far so good! I've stayed on plan, drink my water and exercise minimally (30 min - 5 days a week).

@Takeit off - You're right no need to beat yourself up. Just keep on moving. Congrats on your day 3.

IT'S FRIDAY LADIES/GENTS! lol

Here I am Kim!! I've been busy, busy! I am still good...none since July 27th but this is my tempting Friday evening coming up and I have no plans and I'm coming off of a very hectic week and all of that add up to trouble for me. I've got to figure out something to keep me busy during my bewitching hours!

I am doing terrible in the food department though! I took my youngest son to see Big, Loud, and Live 9 last night and we ate giant popcorns and cokes, and at Wendy's and McDonalds before we came home at 12:15 last night! Boy did we have a great time though! It was a live showing of the Drum and Bugle Corps almost final competitons....5 hours of bands!! My husband and oldest son said they would die if they had to sit through that but we loved it!!!

So proud of you all !! Seems everybody is doing great!!

Hey there Leisha!

Well congrats on your sober days.

That sounds like a lot of fun. I would have loved it too, so exciting and interesting to see I'm sure.

Well, today is a new day and just get right back to LC'ing. One day don't stop the show and that's for sure.

Have a good weekend and let's check in. Weekends are usually my worse days as well.

I meant to mention that our stats are basically the same. I'm 5'2 shorty! You look a little taller than me.

Great Job, Everyone

Wow,

I am impressed at everyone's dedication to this no alcohol week. I'm still doing fine. No alcohol and the scale was down today. I had a strange reaction around 11am. Not doing much and all of a sudden I was hot and soaking wet. I'll keep an eye on my BP as I am on a huge dose. (Too dang old for hot flashes).

I'm trying to figure out how I would make the lasagna. Our crockpot is deep but doesn't seem very big in diameter...Maybe next time someone makes it you could weigh your piece and then I would know how much I was eating? It sounds delicious.

Keep on keeping on. I need you and we need each other.

BAck to Day 1 for me too. 4 glasses of wine last night with my husband. We had the best time riding on the golf cart looking at the corn, hunting the bulls and I watched him fix a water line in one of the chicken houses and we talked for hours. Then we grilled pork chops. It was a good relaxing reconnecting evening for us so no regrets!

Pcalt & Leisha!

Happy Saturday. Well I'm down another 1.2 lbs, and drum roll!
I had one tall vodka/propel........so we all on Day 1. I didn't go overboard and I had a great workout prior to that drink. My husband tried to get me to drink more, but that was a no go!

Glad you guys had fun. I certainly did. Oh well, off to the waterpark to have some fun!

Enjoy the rest of the weekend!

Hi all,

I am glad you both had a good time. Normally hubby and I would be deep into working on things over the weekend, landscaping, painting, remodeling, building, finishing the basement etc. We love construction and do everything ourselves. It's so statisfying and much cheaper to do it ourselves. The problem we are in temp housing, just waiting for the next week to see if they can get the paperwork done so we can buy our run down dream home We have been working on this for months and hoping it comes to an end. At any rate with us over the weekends we are now just killing time, so stilling around drinking and talking is what we do. It's nice to talk to hubby, but durn if this is bugging us. It's plain old driving us nuts.

Menu:
B - coffee,hwc,splenda, 2 eggs, goat cheese
L - almonds
D - 1 bbq chicken leg
S - wine

Buying a scale today so I can keep track better. Hope you all have a great day

Restful! No Way! Girl I got blasted. Husband made me mad. He does zero, nada, nothing in the way of housework, yard work, nothing and I blew a gasket. I'm staying home today to wash cloths and finish housework.

I couldn't do it all this weekend because he invited his son and fake grandkids over. Hence, no time to clean. So of course I drank to much to calm my nerve while I cook and cleaned the kitchen and bathrooms.

I did slip and ate about 10 french fried from the kids happy meal. Other than that my food was clean, but the vodka didn't survive.

DAY 1 and a hangover! "Cryn"

I with ya! Was having a good day doing landscaping (sore today) but them decided to relax with wine and hubby and watch a movie. Well a few glasses later I was eating pasta and ice cream. I don't even like ice cream (I know I am weird). So today day 1 again. But also very mad at myself.

Ok ladies one day at a time right?

Got some really bad news last night so hubby brought home a bottle of wine. Things just stink around here and they always get worse. Wow life is so hard right now.

Still working on it. Good with food, now to get rid of the wine for a week. Am working on it. Hope you all have a great day

Hello everyone! I've been out of it too. Not eating wise but I did drink Sunday. Just recouping from Sundays splurge. I defintely went overboard to.

Crazy I'm losing weight... down to 202.2.

I don't have an appetite. This coconut oil is doing an amazing job at keeping my appetite down. I had maybe 3 oz of steak yesterday, a few mushrooms, and 2 eggs. I'm determined not to eat if I'm not hungry, but maybe that's not such a good idea.

I need to pick me up some vitamins and increase my water intake. The weekends are the worse for that.

Well girls, keep on getting up!

@Pcalt - Sorry you're having a hard time personally. I'm sure things can't stay bad forever. Thing positive and if you're a praying person..... PRAY

Hey girls! I'm still doing good but we've had a death in the family and have been doing the visitation last night and the funeral is today at 2:00. Things like this are always so hard. He was suffering with the end of his battle with cancer so it's almost a relief that he's out of it.

I am a praying person and I've been praying for both of you!
One day at a time....not only just one day....but one good decision at a time! Both Food & Drink decisions!
