Hello

I've been very afraid to post here. I am an addict. I eat because it calms and relaxes me. I've been LCing for 54 days and am really struggling with discomfort emotionally. Just thought I'd say hello.

Hi from California!

I think we all overeat because it calms us. I know when I'm being "real good," I can't fall asleep at night. No food coma.

Hang in there!!

Hello Heheher, For many years I overate whenever I was nervous or worked up about something. Peanut butter, pudding, and yogurts especially soothed me. I once read that if you overeat smooth things like I did, you are searching for comfort. If you are overeating crunchy things like chips and cookies, you have anger/stress and want to bite someone's head off. I hope you will find some good books or resources out there to help you work through this. Adding fat to my diet has helped all of my cravings. I recommend the book Natural Health and Weight Loss by Barry Groves. It will seem absurd at first but it's changed my life, and I have been up and down for many years with my cravings and weight. I finally think I have it under control. It does take time. Hang in there and find a support group if you need to. You don't have to tell anyone or even share your real name!

Hi Heheher!

I found the LCF forum after I joined MEDI weight loss - I joined MEDI to make myself stop a cycle of binging and purging.

This forum is a wonderful, safe place.
