Just a hello from an AA member....
I didn't want to slog through the other thread. I've been in AA too long to have that discussion again.
I'm a firm believer in whatever works. The problem with that often becomes that we want to drink more than we want to accept the solution. I've seen many people recover (or not) in AA and without AA. There seem to be some common denominators for success and some common ones for returning to drinking. I'm not going to defend or debate AA. I hope everyone who needs recovery from alcohol finds something that works for them. In my case, it was the AA program, but not always the AA culture. ![]() I'm very grateful for the foundations for living I learned in early recovery. And grateful that I've moved on while still be available to help. Wishing everyone peace and happy sobriety! ![]()
