ANY DIABETICS W/OR W/OUT HIGH BP TAKING SMOKING PATCH, ETC?
I'm in between doctors and can't get to my new one yet, but MUST stop smoking or will lose my 55 year old co-op [already given a date to vacate.... if you've ssen my other post] , and I'm too sick and exhausted to move AND with no place else to go and only saying I've STOPPED smoking will give me at least a CHANCE of reconsideration and even THAT is only a ''maybe'' I cannot LIE to them. I've cut down to half and that didn't help. Neighbors are still complaining although none of them who are directly 'around' my apartment.....others are although this IS NOT a smoke-free building. The building's lawyers who sent me this notice a 2nd time nevertheless seem confident because it is classified as objectionable ""ODORS"".... I've TRIED to stop and CAN'T, not even after having read Allen Carr's book, and scared to death of taking patch, or any other smoking remedies and need to hear if Diabetics and/or those with also Hypertension [I have BOTH] are taking any of those remedies and if it's SAFE. Please HELP, I must do something IMMEDIATELY to change this situation or I'll be in the street .....or worse. Thanks so much for ANY HELP!!!!

Hi Mamzelle,
I read a few of your posts and had to reply. (1st time on this forum) I too have read Alan Carrs book without success. Currently am trying Chantix. You may want to look into this as it has been quite successful for many people. There are several posts about it on this forum too. I am only starting week two but have already reduced my smoking by more than half. I am sorry to hear you're going through such a tough time! Am not a lawyer so can't help with your situation other than to offer support if even someone to talk to about this. Feel free to email me if so. I think your best bet is to hire your own lawyer... Meanwhile, try this forum for help. It is frequented by lawyers and covers many subjects. www.lawyers.com That is the main site, but here: http://community.lawyers.com/messageboards/list.asp?? is the place where you can post your question. Hope that helps, and good luck with everything. |

Thanks so much, I will go to those links when I'm more awake [I sleep an hour at a time and just woke up again when things become the worst after realizing my reality all over again and that it wasn't just a nightmare]. Are you diabetic? I've heard about Chantix, had it open on my screen but have been unable to absorb much. I'm in very bad shape. What does it say about Diabetics? And again are you one? Thanks

Hi Mamzelle,
No, I am not diabetic. Chantix is prescription only so your Dr. will let you know if you can or cannot take it. Their site: http://www.chantixhome.com/chantix_precautions.html does warn about the proper dosage of Chantix when on insulin medication or with kidney issues but does not say you cannot take it. Good luck with the other site, they are very helpful. |
