Woo-Hoo!!!
Kat made it all weekend w/o eating off plan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Man, it was a struggle all weekend, but at least I did it, ya know. I ate LOTS of legal food, but I think I was still pretty much in the 20-30 carb range, so hopefully the scale will reward me come Friday Mag - congrats on your big lil grandbaby. Can you post pics? I haven't mastered that technology yet, myself, but if you can, we'd love to see him Kacee - What an inspiring story about your surgery and subsequent kiddos. It's amazing to me, sometimes, how our lives can be so touched. Mama - thanks for the advice We've already got a boy name, Daniel Thomas (his Dad's first and my Daddy's middle). Kinda like the tradition you were talking about Beulah As far as girls go, who knows. The boy's name just kinda came about in random conversation, before we were even married, I think, but I'll take any baby talk I can get out of DH brilliant - thanks for starting the thread! How was your weekend? I forgot to check your stats before I started typing. How bout everyone else? TTYL kat

Happy Monday! Quiet weekend for me, cleaning house, church, etc. DS#2 was home for a bit, kind of blue because he broke up with his girlfriend of 4 years. All of my boys have had long-term relationships, so when the breakups came it was hard on the whole family.
Jenkat - congrats on a legal weekend!! My eating wasn't too good, but I did exercise both days. I've decided to really buckle down and work hard so I'll be thinner for the holidays. Anyone want to join me? Brilliant - how was your weekend? I've gotta tell you - I've started chewing gum now. Your "bad" habits are catching - LOL. Jenkat - my only baby-naming advice is this: if you're going to have more than one child, don't name them with the same starting letter. My guys' names all begin with C - seemed cute at the time, but what were we thinking?

Kacee - Yay, I need a buddy for my Thanksgiving goal! After this weekend I'm both motivated and discouraged. Motivated cause i did it, so I know that I CAN do it, but discouraged cause it was SO HARD! I'm not sure that I'll have the energy to fight the fight, especially since TOM'll be visiting in a couple more weeks. Having someone on board with me might help!

My weekend was great. It always zips by so fast. I consumed to many calories on Saturday night due to drinking and excessive cheese consumption so my weight is up. Plan to eat really clean all week and get back into the 150's!!! |

Brilliant - I'm a YoCheese fanatic (big surprise, Kat obsessing over a new food
)I swear by the stuff now. I eat it whenever I'm hungry throughout my work day, and then eat a meat/veggie LC dinner. i'm totally satisfied all day, don't tempt myself by driving thru for lunch and don't have to think about what to take to work. It's been a life saver for me. I believe (true or not) that the calorie reduction from eating it for breakfast/lunch has helped kick my loss a step up, and that I'm losing in my stomach faster. I NEVER lost from my belly before, and now it's getting smaller Let me know if you try it. I'm totally converted ![]() |

I am totally freaked out by an article I read today in the Main Lobby.
The thread is called Sugar Addiction Conspiricy. If you read it let me know cuz I want to chat about this. The article did not really talk about the hormones feed to animals such as chicken, cows, etc that we eat. I'm wondering what type of crap am I eating along with the meat. Im almost too scared to do any research on the web but I think I am going to have to go organic this year. I do not want to eat weird crap in my food. AHHHHHHHHHHHH - why cant our food be pure as the Lord indended. Why the heck are they putting all that crap in our food!!!!!!!!!!!!! ![]()

Flavoring - I pretty much stick to heavy cream and either caramel or white choc davinci's (cause that's what I've got), this weekend I added some cocoa powder. I also always add ground flax, for the health benefits n stuff. As far as the other stuff goes, I try not to read too much into the hype, I'd go bonkers (more so than I already am ) I rely on my common sense, more than anything. If it's processed, it's probably got crap in it, but I can't afford to buy entirely organic, so I do the best I can, where I can. As far as SPlenda goes, I try to limit it, cause we just don't know - long term - but it's better than plain sugar, so I'll take the help where I need it.YoCheese Rocks! kat |

Checking in kind of late today....
My parents are in town for Halloween. It's a tradition that my dad has started. They come every year for Halloween and then for my dad's b-day in March. Too bad DD had to go to school (we're paying for it so she is going). As for naming babies...Kacee ~ my kids are Myra and Noah. If we have a third, DH says we have to stick with the four letter names ending in the "ah" sound. I've got a girls named picked out ( Lana [Lawn-ah] of course DH doesn't like it) but finding a boys name is hard. BTW, we have to come up with both because with our third and last baby (if we even have one), we're not going to find out the sex until it's born since we have our girl and boy already. As for Yocheese(?) - never heard of it except for on this site. What is it exactly? Is it like yogart? I'm not a big fan of yogart. Eating this weekend with the two birthday parties ... to make a very long story short ... we missed one of the parties due to me assuming I knew where I was going. The good news is that I wasn't the only one. Another family missed the party because they ended up at the same place we did. Oh well, no second piece of cake to give into for me. I skipped lunch and saved room at the first party ("a small piece for me please") so I could have cake at the second. I don't think I'm going to make my pound this week but at leasst the scale is still going down ... very...very...very slowly. No guarantee that I'll be back today so I'll just look forward to talking to eveyone tomorrow. Mag ~ how's our new baby boy doing? How about big brothers? |

Rant over here!
Why can't I figure out tha I need to keep my personal vices (sp?) seperate from each other? I know that when I drink or give in to that social pressure, I'm gonna head to the kitchen in my next move. For some reason, I let myself drink before I eat, then my night is shot, cause I'm battling that voice in my head that wants food ALL NIGHT GRRRRRR. I guess I just needed to get that out, so maybe I'll remember that I've got this figured out, just need to DO IT!!!! At least it was all legal food, last night, but I ate it ALL right before bed <stupid stupid stupid>OK, I feel better How's everyone else dong this lovely morning? (said sarcastically as I look out the window at darkness and clouds at a truly ugly morning ) Think I'll go for my walk kat |

Kat- sorry. We're having a glorious morning. I live in the mountains - the skies are blue, the leaves are turning, yada, yada, yada. Quiet morning at work, too - except for the regularly scheduled monthly fire drill. Today is the first day of eating clean for the month of November - are you still with me?
Morning, everyone else. BBL Kacee |

Thanks Kacee!
I now have a very lovely picture in my mind of your morning, and it's spectacular I feel better, I went for a walk and kind of talk to God and examined why I felt soooooo compelled to eat last night. I've peacefully come to the conclusion that the answer is to seperate my vices. I knwo, seems like a weird thing to talk to God about (my over-indulgence in drinking and eating), but I feel much better now, and I'm gonna be OK! Gawd, I don't know why I'm always thrown for a loop when my eating really acts like an addiction. It's not like I don't KNOW that it is! I'm definitely still with you on eating clean. I did NOT give in and eat the DQ chicken basket that my friend was eating and I was sooooooo covetting We can do this <repeats over and over in chant form> Thanks for "listening" kat |

Hi Kacee and Kat. I am totally in on eating clean for November.
Kat - I have a similar problem with having a cocktail then wanting to eat. For me the alcohol lowers my will power and triggers cravings. Its fun to celebrate with a cocktail and with the holidays being here its tough to avoid. I'm going to think long and hard about this cuz it is interfering with my goals big time. |

The Parental Units Are GONE!
I love my parents (actually Dad and Step-Mom) to death BUT they drive me insane after so long of being together. My dad is like a big kid and has to be entertained all the time. My step-mom ... if she's not shopping she's in a pissy mood. The thing that bothers me the most ... I'm used to promises being broken by my dad. When he tells me he's going to do something, I expect it NOT to happen. When he said that he wanted to go eat lunch with DD at school, I wasn't going to say anything to DD so that her heart wouldn't get broken when we didn't show up. Dad made a big deal out of us going "We'll see you at lunch. You tell everyone to save us a spot at the lunch table." It was time to leave to meet DD for lunch, the babies were sleeping so I told Dad I'd give him directions to the school. He said he wasn't going and that he'd just see her that night. I knew he was going to do that. That's exactly why I didn't want DD to know the "plan". DH said that DD was asking where everybody was all the way home. It sounds bad but I was kind of hoping DD would be crying when she walked in the door so Dad could see how he hurts others. DD wasn't crying but she wasn't happy either. She's usually very excited when she walks in; wanting to tell you all about her day. She was pretty quiet. She finally asked "Granddaddy" where he was at lunch. My dad didn't say anything, he just ignored her. I was so pissed. I changed some of our plans on purpose (I was going to take them certain places that they like to go that they don't have in OK) just to disappoint him. I know it's bad but ... I can't stand ANYONE hurting my babies in any way.
Okay, that's over. I've been good by not eating too much DD's and DS's candy. So far today, I haven't had any. Tomorrow is Weigh-in Wednesday and I'm pretty sure I won't be one pound down from 141.8 but I'm hoping I will be under. Well, it's naptime for the kids. I'm going to go put them in bed and then come back and try to catch up with everyone. Be back shortly! Last edited by PhotoMama : 11-01-2005 at 10:01 AM. |

Brilliant - please let me know if you have any breakthroughs, cause I could sure use an "aaahh" moment, if ya know what I mean.
mama - that sux! I don't blame you for wanting him to understand what he's doing to other people. I have some friends (well, had) like that, and it drove me so bonkers we couldn't really be friends anymore (ok, so there were some other issues, but you follow my drift). Can't exactly cut off the grandad, tho. Sorry about that, at least you survived the visit. Not again until March, right? Congrats on the Ween candy. We had nothing left, so that's a relief, and no beebies to tempt me with their yummy candy (and ridiculously quick metabolisms )I've changed my mind, I'm still in a cruddy mood, I think. Hate when that happens for no good reason At least I can have a sense of humor about it, I guess kat |

Brilliant and Kat - I'm the same way with drinking. It lets down my guard so I eat anything, but worse still it puts me in the mindset of "I've already screwed up, so let's go all out!" I'm an all or nothing kind of girl.
Mama - sorry. I have so been there. For the first 18 years of our marriage none of our parents lived nearby, so had several long visits a year. It always got stressful- we had three boys in four years, and our household was CRAZY. So eight years ago MIL moved down here and lives in the building where I work. My parents followed seven years ago. All with much stress. But that's families, right? |

10 days!! so I added the little
guy to my siggy. Double digits!!!!!!!!!Tomorrow may be hard, though, so I need support from ya'll. A friend of mine and I are gonna take off early and go see a movie. Movies are splurges for me, and I LOVE movie popcorn. I've thought through it, and I don't want to cheat (although, of course Mr. Hyde tried to convince Dr. Jekyl that I did, for a while ). I'm gonna take some "swedish" almonds that I made this weekend, so I have something to crunch. Just please, tell me I can really do this BTW, it's a much prettier and better day, here. Thanks for listenin to be whine yesterday How's everyone else? kat |

Kat - of course you can. When I go to the movies, I take peanuts -salt and crunch, that's all you need.
Yesterday was great. Ate all on plan. Didn't get to the gym, had bag packed but forgot my shoes!! It's harder for me with daylight savings time. I fully intended to run home and pick up my shoes, but when I got there, I just stayed, glued to CNN (I'm fascinated by all the political manuevering right now). But today is a new day - DH won't be home after work, so I'll do a FIRM video. Also had something yummy, yummy last night. Took ricotta cheese and mixed in DaVinci's SF white chocolate. Oh wow!! Brilliant, Mama, Magna, how are you all? BBL |

Kacee - If you like the ricotta mixture, you should try the YoCheese stuff. Similar, I think, kinda like cheesecake innards |
