Hey,
Brillian100, thanks for remembering me! I have been cheat free for 2 days, today will be 3!
Well, I bought some sf jello and told myself I could have it as a legal treat with some hc, but I haven't even tried it yet. The last 2 days (of which I've been cheat free) all the staff ordered out dinner at work. I picked good food and didn't struggle with cravings. Why? I ate a much more substantial dinner then I usually pack. I think this has been the key. I needed to eat more for dinner. I'm gonna stick with this and hopefully I will be able to cut out the after dinner eating all together.
Thanks again for remembering me.

K-A-T-E Glad to hear that you have a plan. Are you doing Atkins? Are you in Ketosis?

I tested before bed last night and I had trace ketones. This is the first time I've been in ketosis in quite awhile. I had gotten into deep ketosis when I did the fat fast about 3 weeks ago, but I gained back all the weight I lost and got out of ketosis.
I gave myself a new start date (mostly for psychological benefits). I have been doing Atkins Induction since my new start, but as I said, I was having lots of cravings and cheating like every other day! So, today I am officially 2 days cheat free and 2 days craving free and on the edge of ketosis. Finally, I'm feeling successful.
Oh yeah, I tested this am too (right when I woke up) and I still had trace ketones.

Whatchya thinking, Brilliant100?

Well now I feel stupid and depressed. I posted this on last weeks thread so from here down, I just copied and pasted (with a couple edits)...

I'm so tired this morning. I didn't sleep very well this weekend and right now I'm too stressed ($$) to take a nap. I'm staying out of the kitchen because of it. Not to mention that if I do go in there and start eating, we won't have anything for dinner. THIS is my life; always stressing over money. I'm tired of it and just thinking about it depresses me. DH and I want so much more for our family but for some strange reason, we can't/won't change our spending habits. Spending money for us is almost as bad as my eating. It's worse really...I'd rather be fat right now than continue living the way we are (paycheck to paycheck). What's wrong with us? Man, I could use some cookies or left over birthday cake right now.

Do I WANT to snack? Yes.
Do I NEED to snack? NO.

I'm NOT snacking. (We can't afford it, anyways.)

I hope everyone else is doing better. Tell me something good. Since I can't be happy for myself right now, maybe I can be happy for someone else.

:cry

Added aftre reading this weeks tread...K-A-T-E: WTG! Two days cheat free! Me next (I hope). How do you test to see if you're in Ketosis?

test stips called ketostix. There are other clues too, however. Read ketosis!? thread on the main lobby - its new today.

Whenever I eat at induction levels (all legal foods) I have cravings. When I dropped to very low carb levels (significanly less than 20), the cravings DISAPPEAR. I suggest playing with your carb levels to determin at what point the cravings go away. I would also eliminate all pre-packaged lc treats. Last but not least, diet sodas trigger cravings for me regardless of how many carbs I eat. Overall, I'm wondering if a legal food is triggering cravings for you, what do you think?

PhotoMama. Sorry to hear that you are stressing.

Any mini goals for today? I forgot to post mine.

Mini Goal
I'm really tired today and keep confusing if for hunger. I need a nap too.
1. Only eat when physically hungry today
2. Drink 5 containers of water from this point on
3. No gum while at work.

Good Morning

I really don't have much to say this morning but I did want to check in. I'm still not real happy but I've been pretty good about staying out of the kitchen. I'm just irritated with everything and everyone. I feel guilty that I don't feel like taking care of my kids right now. I am taking care of them; I'm just not enjoying it. I feel really bad about it which make me feel even worse about myself. I'm having a really hard time right now. I realize my feelings but I'm not sure how to "fix" them. I'm so sick of feeling...no...living this way.

I'm back!! AWOL for 2 weeks is too long. I really think you guys can help me, so I'm committing to this board/challenge.

Sorry, that rant was more for me than you all, but it had to be done

I am on my second day cheat free after being really sick this weekend and eating anything that didn't strike me as wanting to come immediately back up. (Sorry TMI)
I've walked the past 2 days, too, and drank more than my minimum of water. If I can stay accountable to you guys, I just might make goal eventually (for the first time ever!!!)

Mama - hang in there. I know how tough that self-defeating cycle gets. I bet everyone here does it over something (mine's often $$, too). Any way you could leave the kids w/ DH and go for a walk tonight and get back in touch with all the things you have to be proud of yourself for? Its great that you are even realizing your struggle as something you need work/help on!

Thanks all for being here!

I'm back, too - after a good day eating yesterday. Mama - been there, done that. How old are your kiddos? I stayed home with mine for over seven years, then went to work. You can imagine the guilt I had. I didn't need the $$ at that point, just some adult interaction!! Good thing I did, too; 'cause over the years we HAVE needed the money. Did you notice - our beginning and goal weights are about the same, as is our height.
Brilliant - you're doing so well.
Kat - welcome home. I try to walk when I get the chance, too. I find that everything is easier when I exercise - don't want to waste all that work!!
Have a great day - BBL

Thanks jenkat and kacee

DH just IMed me and said that he'll be receiving his pay for the wedding last week tonight. I feel a little better but I know I'll feel even better tomorrow when it and his and my paychecks are in the bank and cleared. I NEVER want to do this again. This time it was just too close.

Thanks again.

I HATE MONEY!!

BTW: DD is 4 and DS will be 15mo on the 4th. I also have my niece (11.5mo) here during the day. The babies alone get me stressed sometimes.

Declaring another minor victory. Another day of clean eating yesterday, and I'm especially proud of myself b/c it was my anniversary, and we both still ate clean! I always use any special occasion as an excuse to go off plan, which equals a big ole binge. I still need to work on the emotional eating when I'm upset, but maybe this is a sign that I'm starting to get a handle on the emotional eating over good stuff

Mama, how are you doin?

Everybody else, how are you doing, too? Hope we get some action on this thread today!

Hi All,

I was off work yesterday. I am so behind with my homework that I had to stay home and write a paper. Its still not done and I have to turn it in today along with a presentation. I am such a procrastinator!!! But I will get it done today.

The eating went ok yesterday. I ate dinner late (after 9pm) due to running erronds late in the afternoon but I really was hungry and tried to eat something kinda light (eggs).

Took the puppy to obedience traning. It was fun! We have 3 more sessions to go.

A friend took some pictures of me with his cell phone last night and emailed them to me. I was happy with the lower body shots but not with the full body. I dont think my face looks cute in pics! I hate the fact that I will never look like Haily Barry or any other beautiful woman on TV no matter how much weight I lose.

At the age of 33, I need to accept that I will always have an average slightly cute face (as long as my hair is done and Im wearing a little lip gloss). That really sucks.

I want a beautiful face!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rant over..................

WE HAVE MONEY!!!

For a while anyway.

Daily goals from here on out...(besides staying out of the kitchen)
(1) No leaving the house unless I absolutely need to. I'm in a SAHMs group and we do get-togethers every now and then. I'm going to plan those depending on location and how much money might be spent if I go. I've changed several of my RSVPs to "no" and "maybe". This will cut way back on MY spending.
(2) No being afraid of saying "no" to DH. No being afraid of hurting his feelings if he doesn't get what he wants. This is one of my biggest downfalls. He wants something and I tell him "okay" thinking we'll cut back somewhere else. We never do the cutting back somewhere else. I'm going to start telling him "no".
(3) Stop relying on the online backing to do my balancing for me. Logging on then closing my eyes hoping that I won't see red ... I'm sick of it! From now on, I have an appt with DH to balance the checkbook at 9:30pm every night.

If I can stick to these three rules, that will eliminate so much stress meaning there won't be so much eating.

I AM GOING TO DO THIS!
(please help me )

As for my weekly goal of losing at least one pound a week...
I MADE IT!! I'm down 1.2lbs! Only 9.8lbs to go (about 10wks).

Brilliant ~ Ahhh, the college days. I don't miss them. Did you get your paper and project done yet? I don't know how many times I had to pull all-nighters to get things done. I didn't get good grades because of it (I'm not good at last minute stuff) but my thinking was..."It's better than a ZERO." If you haven't gotten your paper and project done...GET TO WORK!!

I'm going to update my siggy now. I'll check in later.

PhotoMama- I plan to spend the rest of the afternoon finishing it up. I have to stay off this site it eats up so much of my time. Why oh Why do I wait until the last minute to do things.

Your spending plan looks good to me! I need to pay more attention to my finances too. I have burned through way to much of my savings this summer. Need to develop a plan and rebuild it.

Hello everybody -
Yesterday was a good day.
I started the M/E fast. I think this will help with my cravings (at least it did yesterday). I drank a diet caffeine free soda last night and it just tasted soooo sweet. Maybe I'll actually lose my sweet tooth!

Here's wishing everyone a cheat free day.

Good Luck and thanks for the support!

I love the M/e. It truely helps me with cravings. Have you checked out the 3 Day Kimmer Thread on the Challenge Board? This was helpful to me when I started. There may also be a M/E thread on the same board.

Good Luck!

Brilliant - Yeah I am following the Kimmer 3 day challenge. I have posted on the thread. I do have a question though, since you've done this before. Are there any guidelines to how many calories you should be taking in? My meal plans for yesterday and today are less than 900 calories. This seems far too low for me. What do you think?

I know you weren't asking me but ... I've done this before also and one of the rules is "No cal counting!" (I think that was the best part for me.) The rules are listed in the very first post on the 3 Day Kimmer Exp thread.

I think I need to do M/E again. Last time, I did it for a week and lost 11lbs.

PhotoMama is correct about the no Cal counting thing but for me I needed some type of guideline in the beginniing to ensure I was eating right. I was told most people eat 700-1000 cals a day on M/E. In the beginniing, I was eating closer to 1200-1400 but it tappered way down to 700 once deep ketosis kicked in. Using fitday and checking out the thread helped me pay attention to how hungry I was. For a few weeks I was eating on autopilot for exampe I use to eat 3-4 eggs every day out of habit but during M/E some days I only wanted one egg. I started eating away from the TV so I could pay attention to my stomach. On M/E you get full/satisfied real fast. I can eat two eggs and drink a large glass of water and feel like I at a 10 oz steak. Not all the time but it happens often to the point that I felt sick if I overate.
