Thought/Question for the day 12/23/04
Ok, folks, this is late because I was in a car wreck today -- someone ran a red and t-boned me. And we were planning to leave today!
My head smashed into the drivers side window, and I have a huge goose-egg on my head. I am ok, will be sore for awhile, the DR says, and he said it was ok to leave for our trip tomorrow. My son, who was also in the car was not hurt at all. Ok here goes; What physical sensations initiate the desire to eat other than hunger? I picked this one because I just realized today that I eat when i am in pain. I had another whiplash injury about 6 years ago, and everytime my muscles would start to tense up or I'd get the chronic achiness, I think I ate to numb myself out! I have realized over the past couple of years that i have some chronically achey areas in my body, and I tend to ignore them rather than acknowleging them and doing something healthy for myself. I think I misinterpret many of my body's physical feelings, for instance, I tend to think I am hungry when really I am nauseated

Awesome!! I can totally relate.
I confuse the following sensations with hunger. 1. Tiredness 2. Sleepiness 3. Nausea 4. Flu Symptoms 5. Cramps 6. Basically any signal from my body is confused as "eat and you will feel better". The only one that I can think of that does not trigger eating is muscle soreness from working out. |
