Hi Karen,

I’m new to this board so I don’t know if you or anyone else would be allowed to start something specific to alcohol. As for me, my drug of choice is food. However, as an addictive type I have noticed that when I put the food down, alcohol can easily become a way for me to medicate. I attend a recovery group at my Church that works through “Celebrate Recovery’s” 8 principles (AA’s 12 steps condensed into 8) and that has been helpful to me in dealing with the food as well as anything else that comes up. Good luck in getting something new started.

I participate in a 12 step program for food as well, but abstaining from alcohol is part of my plan.
