Hi Camy--I quit smoking on August 2nd and have still managed to lose 4 or 5 pounds. (And I am old! So my metabolism isn't they greatest. LOL) I actually have lost more weight since I quit smoking! I have been in a stall for months.
I just stick to my plan (Atkins). When I get antsy, I eat raw veggies, like cauliflower, green peppers, broccoli. When I wanted something sweet I found low carb cremecycles.....actually they had 0 carbs. I don't know the calorie count, but I don't think it was very much. Also, taking deep breaths and blowing out the air seemed to help. I have been using the nicorette gum. The first week I used alot of gum, maybe every hour. This week, I keep forgetting to chew it. The cravings are pretty much gone. I also walk around my block after work. It is about .8 of a mile. It's not much, but it's alittle more than I was doing before I quit. Another important thing I did was tell EVERYONE at work and home I had quit smoking. That way I was held accountable. You can quit and lose weight, or at least maintain your weight while you are quitting. Jeannie ![]()
