Thanks so much for checking in on us!
![]() I'm doing great so far. 4days, 18 hours. 95 cigs not smoked. $21 saved. My blahs and depression are lifting. I am realizing my smoking was masking my boredom, so now I need to find more productive things to do. My weight gain seems to have leveled off now and will hopefully start reversing itself. All in all, I'm OK. This is definitely harder than dieting! How is everyone else? |

thats sweet!!!!
I feel WONDERFUL. Really. Do I think about it or miss it still sometimes or even want one occasionally? YES. Is it hard? NO. Not at all. I do have some incentive tho whereas you guys might not. I mean I went thru a life changing event last year. Definately a near death experience. And I was commanded by all my drs to NEVER smoke again. So even tho before I knew it was bad for me, I still enjoyed it and kept on thinking it won't happen to me, blah blah blah
I REALLY REALLY enjoy my oxygen now. Especially since my lungs are weak. I love it. I see ppl smoking and think man that looks gross I'm glad I quit. But on the other hand I'm very understanding and a nice ex smoker. I know where they are and how they feel. But I still wish everyone would quit. You find other things to enjoy that much. And there really IS no point to having a cigarette. Its a cop out fake coping mechanism that we tell ourselves we enjoy. I did....I really enjoyed it. I still miss it occasionally. But we all think we smoke to relax us and calm us? It actually raises blood pressure and heart rate and everything opposite of what calms us so it actually works against us. Odd isn't it? Well I'm proud of you guys. KEEP STRONG....it can be done.

I stopped smoking on March 24 of this year. Almost 4 months now.
It's been hard - but not impossible. I still have strong urges to smoke, but they pass. How long, I wonder, before those strong urges stop completely? Oh, and I gained 20 lbs. So now I am trying to deal with that too. |

The weight gain seems to have stopped and now I'm down a pound. I've been sticking to the diet very closely, carb-wise, but overdoing it on calories - still tend to do a lot of nervous eating at night. Working on it! If we can overcome this addiction, ohmystarz, we can certainly overcome the weight gain...right? (i hope!)

I quit on June 21, 2004 and I've put on about 8 pounds :/ I think its mostly because I've all but stopped going to the gym. well, that and a few too many "better the krispy kreme than the cig" moments. I'm just so tiiiiirrreeed all the time. I was starting to get some pep back and then today I stepped down my nicopatch to level 2 and now I'm all tired again. I guess I'm just going to have to force myself to go to the gym whether I feel it or not
