Accountability week of July 6-July 11
Good morning. Had a great weekend even though the fourth of cold and rainy on Mackinac Island. Eating was far from perfect, but I believe that I made better choices than last year. I need to get busy like a bee on laundry. Have a good day.

Hi Pam, I'm doing Flylady today because I have really gotten behind. I haven't been here much, lately, partly because I am having a very hard time getting back on track and don't want to be a downer, and partly because this forum hasn't been very active lately. Anyway, wanted to say "hey" to you. I LOVE Mackinaw Island, rainy or not, but DH doesn't so we've only been there once. We got free ferry tickets because we donated a piece of antique farm machinery to one of the exhibits there.
have a great day, Mary |

Hi everyone,
Today was a busy one. Went to an OA meeting at 9:30 pm and there was a great speaker who is also a member of GSA. Then have been worrying about an issue with my car for over a month now. Talked to someone after the meeting and she advised me to pray and meditate (step 11) regarding the issue. So I did and asked for direction. I ended up stopping at the dealer and had them look at the car. I paid an inspection fee. While they were doing it I walked to the YMCA and worked out for an hour. When I returned to the dealer, they were done. Now I know that the 3 problems are not safety violations, but rather inconvenience. It would cost nearly $2000 to have it all fixed, but if I am willing to live with it, I won't be jeopardizing myself or my family with the issues. That was a big concern. So God answered my prayers in a very unusual way, not what I was worrying about and thinking of. I need to learn to rely on God more frequently with problems in my life. It is just not a natural response to me, since I abandoned my spiritual life years ago. I am starting anew with some daily mediation and prayer. Please understand that this has nothing to do with religion, but more of a personal relationship with my idea of God.

briefly...
Hi, Everyone.
I haven't been around much lately... it's a very busy time for me. I spent a few days off program, and have gotten myself back to being abstinent again. Tonight I'm finishing my 8th day of recommitted abstinence. A glimpse of craziness... I'm glad to be abstinent again. More tomorrow, I hope. Blessings to everyone! Cindy |

Hi everyone,
Checking in. Did some quiet time this morning (prayer and meditation). This is new for me. I know there is no perfect way to do it. So whatever I do is better than what I did. Food is okay. Weighed and measured. Written down and called in to my sponsor. Listened in to the 7 am phone bridge meeting this morning while laying in bed. What a great way to wake up. Car issues resolved. Thank you God. Hope you all have a nice day. |

MaryMary, glad you got the car issues resolved.
Cindy, it's good to see you. Linda Marie, congrats on three days. MaryA, I hear what you're saying. I'd like more activity, too. Found myself eating a snack last night and I wasn't really hungry. Just wanted to eat due to boredom and fatigue. What exhibit is your farm equipment in? We'll have to look at it next time we go. If the winters weren't so bad and the cost wasn't so prohibitive we'd live on the island! Time to face the day. Have a good one everybody.

Hi everyone,
A new day, yeh! Going swimming today. Then to do dishes at DD's restaurant. Fun, fun, fun! This morning I experimented with prayer and meditation again. I am trying to incorporate this into my morning ritual. About 15 years ago, I made my first attempts at this and enjoyed the feelings. Today, I got up, put a pillow down on the floor, and got down on my knees, and prayed for God to be my director today, show me his will, and give me the insight to follow. Very simple. That was it. But getting down on my knees was the key. I have avoided this at all costs, because I told myself I have bad knees or I can't get up once I get down, or whatever else. But it wasn't so bad on a pillow. Then I read two of my meditation books and a couple pages out of the Big Book of AA (pg 84-88). Then I came down stairs and tried meditation. In 1989 I took a training in Transcendental Meditation (the yogi kind). Today I did it for about 10-15 minutes. I want to work up to 20 minutes. We all know how good a body massage feels, when someone rubs certain muscles over and over and loosens the knots in our muscles. Well, repeating my meditation mantra over and over, felt like my mind and spirit were being massaged, that the knots in my mind and spirit were being loosened. I could get use to this. I like the gentle way TM approaches meditation. Anyway, I just wanted to share this renewed experience with you all. |

Hi Pam, check the thread for this week. It's not much more active, but definitely more current. You also might want to check the challenge board under "clean eating compulsive eating" thread.
How are you doing? MaryA |
