WOE: One Day At A Time
{{{{{{{{{{{{{{Shell}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}

Shell, I have the same problem. I eat when I'm stressed, I eat when I'm bored, I eat when I'm sad, I eat to replace whatever it was I got from smoking (been smoke-free for over 3 years). And now my daughter is pregnant with a high risk pregnancy and I feel the urge to eat everything that isn't nailed down. In the past I would have smoked, but now I don't know how to deal with the stress. I'd be happy to buddy up with you here. We can check in at the beginning and end of the day and hold each other accountable. And anyone else. It could be a kind of accountablility thread.

Mary(Amadeus)

edited to add to my name to keep the "Mary's" straight.

Hi Shell,

Glad you stopped by here. I have been using these boards for the last 3 years for support, but when my low carb eating got out of control, I contacted the GreySheeter's Anonymous (www.greysheet.org) website to get a sponsor. They also have phone bridge meetings three to four times a day where people call in from all over the world. There is also a yahoogroup called greynet where those of us doing the greysheet food plan can write into as often as possible.

Today I write my food down on paper the night before, and call it into my sponsor, then I weigh & measure my 3 meals a day, eating nothing in between from water, diet soda or decaf tea. I have allergies to coffee, caffeine, aspartame & chocolate, so I can't use those as calorie free drinks.

If you are interested in the phone meetings, send me a PM.

One day at a time!

I am the same way. I'm eat when I'm sad, and I'm sad when I eat. It's a vicious cycle. MaryMary, I am, as of Monday, at 376. I have GOT to do something. I just can't seem to get started.

Sigh!

I can really relate.

There are OA meetings on the internet - that might be some help. I tried them. They aren't great, but ok, and you can possibly find someone to chat with online that way - if you're a chat kind of person.

At least its an opportunity to share thoughts, live, with someone who can relate and give immediate support and feedback.

Have you looked at the OA website?

I really don't recall the specifics of online meetings. I think you may need a chat program and access to the IRC network.

www.mirc.com is a good place for a free trial version, and its preloaded with IRC servers.

If I recall correctly, I found my information on the OA website. Have you looked at OA.org? There's a link there for online meetings.

I am the same way so I feel your pain. I am hoping this board will help me a bit with that. I even moved my computer to another room so I have to walk to get to it. I find that if I read the board for ten minutes prior to eating sometimes I don't even eat at all.
