Yum!!! I can't wait to try this! Pizza is my most favorite food in the whole wide world and is eaten daily by someone in this house (not me lately though ). I hope I can find some cauliflower this week . It looks like it would make really good garlic fingers too, super yum!! |

What can I say girl. You're just amazin. I'd start a grass roots campaign for the Oopsie Party with Cleo for President, but I'm afraid you would win and then you wouldn't have time to create more deliciousness.

Cleo - I am wondering how in the heck do you shred cauliflower after it's already cooked?
![]() Seems like it would be way too soft for that! It looks amazing by the way! |

Thanks so much for thinking about giving this a try! I am really very happy with how the experiment turned out yesterday!
My kids were like WOOHOO! PIZZA! And then they were like, It's made of WHAT?! And then they were like, You only made two?And then they were like Make us more, mom!So I have to go to the store for more cauliflower now. A broiler is the element in an oven which makes things bubble REALLY fast. There's usually a setting on the oven for 'broil'. When you broil, you place the pan under the top element by a couple inches, put the oven on "broil", and then you keep an eye out. When the cheese is melted, you're good to go. I did try rebaking the crust with toppings on it to see if the broiler method was necessary, but the crust wasn't as crisp. Still, it wasn't bad, either! You could, I'm sure, make these in a toaster oven as well.

I like the idea of using cauliflower. I have been mega busy and haven't been around here much lately...
so as usually I'm just passing thru and grabbing a new idea here and there... |

I'm trying this one too! Thanks for the recipe. I love love love pizza and make mine with roasted eggplant slices for "crusts" but this cauliflour "crust" sounds tantalizing, especially since you can pick it up like a regular piece of pizza! No can do with the eggplant!
P.S. Shy, you must have figured out from Cleo's response already but broil (American) = grill (UK). Last edited by Glamour Puss : 02-25-2008 at 05:56 AM. |

ack! All I need is some mozzarella!!! and some killer toppings ... thinking olives, onions and mushies ...
Just noticed you have fitdayed the crust already!! Thanks girl!!! Do you think half the crust as a pizza would be adequate for a meal with veg on the side?? I'm thinking yes, once you add more cheese as topping ...? Your thoughts Cleo? |

TaDa! To be absolutely honest, it's filling enough I can only eat one slice. Two slices, in my opinion, would be definitely enough, and especially with salad! The nice thing is you don't need to add as much cheese on top, especially if you go for the veg. I use a lot of veg (as you can see).

ohmigod! That's exciting Cleo ... of course I do have a superhuman appetite, so it'd probably be 2 slices in my case! Now I am definitely going to give this a whirl! Thanks!!!

That second pizza, I went all-out (since I knew the recipe worked).
My Super Veggie Supreme was: Sun-Dried Tomato Alfredo a little mozzarella chopped, fresh tomato sliced, fresh mushrooms purple onion, chopped jarred artichoke hearts, chopped frozen spinach, thawed green olives, sliced chopped red bell pepper a little more mozzarella pine nuts |

Thank you very much for your kind words.
I ate a slice of the pizza this morning, and it was really a filling breakfast. I really dig this stuff. It's as easy to make as any conventional crust, only instead of waiting for yeasts to rise or mucking with dough, you're preparing frozen cauliflower for mixing in with egg yolk and cheese. |

It sounds awesome! I'm definitely going to give it a try!
What do you think would happen if you froze the crusts after cooking them and then pulled them out later to add toppings and bake? If my family likes these, I would love to be able to have the crusts prepared ahead of time and ready to go. |

Melissa-- I would think that freezing egg pre-cooking might have some funky effects.
I'd probably try freezing them post-baking instead. Then when you want to use one, thaw, grease the pan, add toppings and broil or bake in the oven as you would a regular pizza. |

I'd say this pizza is about 10" across. I'm going to try doubling the recipe today. and I'm going to try a deep dish with it as well (and some other things).
It's a good thing the kids like it, because it's what's for dinner. |

Cauliflower pizza would be a great way to sneak veggies in without children knowing it. Hehehe... |

OK, crust 1 is in the oven.
I used this handy chopper instead of bloodying my knuckles ![]() ![]() I had a pretty big head of cauliflower. I got 4 cups "riced" Here is the mixture with the 4 eggs and 1 pound of shredded cheese. I grow fresh parsley on the backporch. I added it right to the mixture. Along with some granulated garlic, of course ![]() ![]() Here is what I got out of the mixture. Pre-cooked. ![]() My oven can only fit one pizza stone at a time, so I am anxiously awaiting the first one! I can tell you this. The "dough" tastes good raw! ![]()

These are beautiful! But, I don't think they are going to hold up to the "in the hand" test.
The tops browned so nicely, but the bottom didn't. Which is really strange because on the stones, usually the top and the bottom look the same. Anyway, So I flipped them over and baked a little longer so the other side browned up too. Have one in the oven now with toppings. We'll see. I, however, usually eat my pizza with a fork anyway!! ![]() ETA: Not a CHANCE I can pick this up in my hands. But boy does it TASTE good! I put the other one back in the oven. I'm going to see if baking longer will do the trick. Camera is re-charging. I'll be back with pics! Last edited by BarbDe : 02-25-2008 at 09:36 AM. |

It's true you can definitely flip them. Now, I didn't have to flip mine, but I haven't tried making more than one batch at a time on one pan yet. I have only made the single, 10" recipe so far.
They look great! |

How is it that the crust holds up? Is it the blend of eggs and cheese in the crust as well?
