Last year I lost 52 lbs. from July to October and then gained it ALL back in Nov and Dec. OUCH. I know what went wrong. I had taken the WOE into my own hands again. The old control issue. I was relying on self and flesh.

So now I am ready to start over and I am totally relying on God for this and all things. I look forward to getting to know you all and to growing daily in my relationship with God with you all too.

PS...did I mention that I am excited?

Good Morning...

Hope all of you are having a blessed day...

Had the Chronic Itching all day yesterday and Heartburn last night again. I am so tired of fighting this thing. It is really getting me down. I went for 3 months that I didn't have many problems at all and then it started in again.

I am so wiped out today from all the meds I had to take. Have to talk to my Dr. about putting me on steroids for life to keep this under control so I can live a normal life. That will be my next step...

Berta, way to go on the weight loss Sweetie and I know with our Dear Lord's help we will make it to our goals this year.

Here is a story that I thought you might enjoy today.

THE WEATHERED OLD BARN
~Author Unknown .
A stranger came by the other day with an offer that set me to thinking. He wanted to buy the old barn that sits out by the highway. I told him right off he was crazy. He was a city type, you could tell by his clothes, his car, his hands, and the way he talked. He said he was driving by and saw that beautiful barn sitting out in the tall grass and wanted to know if it was for sale. I told him he had a funny idea of beauty. Sure, it was a handsome building in its day. But then, there's been a lot of winters pass with their snow and ice and howling wind. The summer sun's beat down on that old barn till all the paint's gone, and the wood has turned silver gray. Now the old building leans a good deal, looking kind of tired. Yet, that fellow called it beautiful.

That set me to thinking. I walked out to the field and just stood there, gazing at that old barn. The stranger said he planned to use the lumber to line the walls of his den in a new country home he's building down the road. He said you couldn't get paint that beautiful. Only years of standing in the weather, bearing the storms and scorching sun, only that can produce beautiful barn wood.

It came to me then. We're a lot like that, you and I Only it's on the inside that the beauty grows with us. Sure we turn silver gray too... and lean a bit more than we did when we were young and full of sap. But the Good Lord knows what He's doing. And as the years pass He's busy using the hard wealth of our lives, the dry spells and the stormy seasons, to do a job of beautifying our souls that nothing else can produce. And to think how often folks holler because they want life easy!

They took the old barn down today and hauled it away to beautify a rich man's house. And I reckon someday you and I'll be hauled off to Heaven to take on whatever chores the Good Lord has for us. And I suspect we'll be more beautiful then for the seasons we've been through here. and just maybe even add a bit of beauty to our Father's house.

May today there be peace within you. May you trust God that you are exactly where you are meant to be. "I believe that friends are quiet angels who lift us to our feet when our wings have trouble remembering how to

WELL LADIES JUST A QUICK HELLO WHILE DH IS OUT ON AN ERRAND FOR ME.

I AM SURE ENJOYING HIM BEING HOME, EXCEPT WE ARE TURNING INTO LAZY BUMS.

WE HAVE BEEN STAYING UP LATE AND SLEEPING UNITL NOON. BUT IT WILL BE OVER WAY TO SOON. HE LEAVES MONDAY

OH HOW I WISH THERE WERE A QUICK WAY TO GET OUT OF DEBT.
HE HAS BEEN WORKING FOR TWO YEARS NEARLY THREE NOW AND WE AREN'T ANY FARTHER AHEAD THAN WE WERE. IT IS JUST REALLY DISOURAGING AND WE ARE REALLY TRYING TO BE CAUTIOUS ON HOW AND WHAT WE SPEND AND BUY.
BUT I KNOW THE GOOD LORD WILL SEE US THROUGH AND IT DOES TAKE TIME. SO WE WILL JUST KEEP ON KEEPING ON!! OUR DAY WILL COME!!!

I AM SO LOOKING FORWARD TO DINNER THIS EVENING. WE ARE HAVING COLESLAW AND CATFISH!!! MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM IT IS SO GOOD. I FOUND A KRISPY FRY TO ROLL THE FISH IN AND THEN YOU BAKE IT. SO IT ISN'T FRIED .BUT IT COMES OUT KRISPY JUST LIKE IT IS. I LOVE THE STUFF!!!

Hi Momma Patty, you know, I wonder if you should take a break from coffee. I know that can cause heartburn. Or maybe try decaf? Is that what you were talking about in previous posts?

But it's obvious the itching and heartburn is from something you're eating or drinking. Maybe you can eliminate some things a little at a time to see if you can find the culprit.

In the meantime, we'll all be in agreement that the Lord will reveal to you what is causing this to happen. I know He will show you!!

John and I will have family over for Superbowl on Sunday. We're having some munchies and just hang out watching the game.

Normally we just stay home, we're pretty much homebodies.

I like it that way though.
But tonight John told me that he was taking me out to dinner! Whoohoo!

He's a sweet guy too, he's the touchy feely kind!

I'm the "okay that's enough!" kind! But I just mess around with him that way. He always gets a kick out of how I am, like I'm trying to play hard to get!

We get along really good!

That's why I don't understand how some women can speak badly about their husbands, it doesn't make sense to me.
When you don't know the Lord, that's what happens.

Diana I gave all caffeine and tried the decaf but I can't tolerate it either. In fact in my research to not drink decaf either, if you have heartburn. What caused it this time was extra spicy chicken, so that will be in the back burner for awhile. When I get heartburn the itching starts and my stomach gets upset. I think the coffee has too much acid for me, so now all I drink is water...

Berta I have watched everything I eat and even gave up eggs for two weeks to see if it was the egg whites and I still had itching. My 4 Dr.'s says it is nothing that I am eating, that it just happens, so we will see. I don't know what causes it, I just want it to be gone. I have been fighting this for 4 years now...

Oh Diana, MY DH is touchy feely kind of guy too. I was not use to that when we first got Married and he use to smother me. My Mom and Dad never showed affection in front of us, Never even held hands or kissed in front of us until we got grown and I saw Dad kiss Mom and I just about fell over. Henry is very much a Romantic and his family are touchy feely people, so guess what you see, you do...

That's how I grew up to! And how I was when I was first married with John. He was always like that with me and I didn't know how to handle it. But now I'm used to it. The Lord knows who we need doesn't He!!!

Diana Yes, the Lord knows and I had prayed that God would send me someone to Love before I met Henry...

At least my girls were raised with a lot of affection and I can see the difference in them with their families...

I have been having a lot of acid reflux so I am going to have to get back on my pump inhibitor again. I sure hate to and hope it doesn't mess with my weight.

She thought he looked hungry so brought him a large glass of milk. He drank it slowly, and then asked, How much do I owe you?" You don't owe me anything," she replied. "Mother has taught us never to accept pay for a kindness." He said..... "Then I thank you from my heart."

As Howard Kelly left that house, he not only felt stronger physically, but his faith in God and man was strong also. He had been ready to give up and quit. Many year's later that same young woman became critically ill. The local doctors were baffled. They finally sent her to the big city, where they called in specialists to study her rare disease. Dr. Howard Kelly was called in for the consultation. When he heard the name of the town she came from, a strange light filled his eyes. Immediately he rose and went down the hall of the hospital to her room. Dressed in his doctor's gown he went in to see her. He recognized her at once. He went back to the consultation room determined to do his best to save her life. From that day he gave special attention to her case. After a long struggle, the battle was won.

Dr. Kelly requested the business office to pass the final bill to him for approval. He looked at it, then wrote something on the edge and the bill was sent to her room. Hope you all are Blessed today in all you do and say. ------------------------------------------------ THE WEATHERED OLD BARN ~Author Unknown . A stranger came by the other day with an offer that set me to thinking. He wanted to buy the old barn that sits out by the highway. I told him right off he was crazy. He was a city type, you could tell by his clothes, his car, his hands, and the way he talked. He said he was driving by and saw that beautiful barn sitting out in the tall grass and wanted to know if it was for sale. I told him he had a funny idea of beauty. Sure, it was a handsome building in its day. But then, there's been a lot of winters pass with their snow and ice and howling wind. The summer sun's beat down on that old barn till all the paint's gone, and the wood has turned silver gray. Now the old building leans a good deal, looking kind of tired. Yet, that fellow called it beautiful. That set me to thinking. I walked out to the field and just stood there, gazing at that old barn. The stranger said he planned to use the lumber to line the walls of his den in a new country home he's building down the road. He said you couldn't get paint that beautiful. Only years of standing in the weather, bearing the storms and scorching sun, only that can produce beautiful barn wood. It came to me then. We're a lot like that, you and I Only it's on the inside that the beauty grows with us. Sure we turn silver gray too... and lean a bit more than we did when we were young and full of sap. But the Good Lord knows what He's doing. And as the years pass He's busy using the hard wealth of our lives, the dry spells and the stormy seasons, to do a job of beautifying our souls that nothing else can produce. And to think how often folks holler because they want life easy! They took the old barn down today and hauled it away to beautify a rich man's house. And I reckon someday you and I'll be hauled off to Heaven to take on whatever chores the Good Lord has for us. And I suspect we'll be more beautiful then for the seasons we've been through here. and just maybe even add a bit of beauty to our Father's house. May today there be peace within you. May you trust God that you are exactly where you are meant to be. Hi Momma Patty, you know, I wonder if you should take a break from coffee. I know that can cause heartburn. Or maybe try decaf? Is that what you were talking about in previous posts? But it's obvious the itching and heartburn is from something you're eating or drinking. Maybe you can eliminate some things a little at a time to see if you can find the culprit. We're having some munchies and just hang out watching the game. Normally we just stay home, we're pretty much homebodies. I like it that way though. But tonight John told me that he was taking me out to dinner! Whoohoo! He's a sweet guy too, he's the touchy feely kind! I'm the "okay that's enough!" kind! But I just mess around with him that way. He always gets a kick out of how I am, like I'm trying to play hard to get! We get along really good! That's why I don't understand how some women can speak badly about their husbands, it doesn't make sense to me. When you don't know the Lord, that's what happens. What are your plans?

Diana I gave all caffeine and tried the decaf but I can't tolerate it either. In fact in my research to not drink decaf either, if you have heartburn. What caused it this time was extra spicy chicken, so that will be in the back burner for awhile. When I get heartburn the itching starts and my stomach gets upset. I think the coffee has too much acid for me, so now all I drink is water... Berta I have watched everything I eat and even gave up eggs for two weeks to see if it was the egg whites and I still had itching. My 4 Dr.'s says it is nothing that I am eating, that it just happens, so we will see. I don't know what causes it, I just want it to be gone. I have been fighting this for 4 years now...

My Mom and Dad never showed affection in front of us, Never even held hands or kissed in front of us until we got grown and I saw Dad kiss Mom and I just about fell over. Henry is very much a Romantic and his family are touchy feely people, so guess what you see, you do...

Diana Yes, the Lord knows and I had prayed that God would send me someone to Love before I met Henry... At least my girls were raised with a lot of affection and I can see the difference in them with their families... I have been having a lot of acid reflux so I am going to have to get back on my pump inhibitor again. I sure hate to and hope it doesn't mess with my weight. Have a great day.

He decided he would ask for a meal at the next house. However, he lost his nerve when a lovely young woman opened the door. Instead of a meal he asked for a drink of water. She thought he looked hungry so brought him a large glass of milk. He drank it slowly, and then asked, How much do I owe you?" You don't owe me anything," she replied. "Mother has taught us never to accept pay for a kindness." He said..... "Then I thank you from my heart." As Howard Kelly left that house, he not only felt stronger physically, but his faith in God and man was strong also. He had been ready to give up and quit. Many year's later that same young woman became critically ill. The local doctors were baffled. They finally sent her to the big city, where they called in specialists to study her rare disease. Dr. Howard Kelly was called in for the consultation. When he heard the name of the town she came from, a strange light filled his eyes. Immediately he rose and went down the hall of the hospital to her room. Dressed in his doctor's gown he went in to see her. He recognized her at once. He went back to the consultation room determined to do his best to save her life. From that day he gave special attention to her case. After a long struggle, the battle was won. Dr. Kelly requested the business office to pass the final bill to him for approval. He looked at it, then wrote something on the edge and the bill was sent to her room. There's a saying which goes something like this: "Bread cast on the waters comes back to you." The good deed you do today may benefit you or someone you love at the least expected time. If you never see the deed again at least you will have made the world a better place - And, after all, isn't that what life is all about?
