I placed a calender by the door we go in and out of each day. There I right down how much exercise I did per day. Everyone coming and going can see what I have done. I still need the motivation of REAL People.

Today I did 45 minutes on the treadmil. Tomorrow I will be on the exercise bike. I love these boards.

Hi everyone! I need help/motivation too! I leave the house at 6:15am to get to work, so I feel like there's no way I could get up early enough to work out and shower, and I get so easily distracted/discouraged that sometimes I don't go on my way home.

So this morning, my alarm woke me up at 4:30am, and I said to myself, this is ridiculous . I don't want to wake up this early every day. So I have a choice. My exercise can take away from this time, time for precious sleep, or it can take away from evening time, time when I sit around and snack. WHAT'S IT GONNA BE?

I get home from work at 4:15pm. There is no reason, under the sun, why I can't fit in a quick run or a trip to the gym (for which I pay so much every month).

So here I am!

WTG! I didn't go yesterday, my sisters were performing at our HS basketball game and I didn't have time to go after work. But today I get off work at 6:30. There is no reason why I can't go to the gym here at work, or the one by home. TELL ME I HAVE TO GO! I'm such a jerk, because I'll be all "I just want to get home," and then when I'm home I'm bored, snackish, and totally annoyed by everyone! haha!

Thanks Lisa - cute avi! I can't wait for my "I went to the gym - yay!" post

Yeah, that's the hardest part for me. Just pulling in to the parking lot. Once I'm in my gym clothes and the iPod is on, I'm ready to go. But just getting in the door is hardest!

Here's a question for you guys - Do you work out on an empty stomach? I'm asking because I use that as an excuse not to go . Do you have a small snack so it's not crazy hunger pangs?

it's 4:09pm...I get out at 6:30...countdown to the gym!

I've done both-first thing in the morning before eating anything and have a protein shake afterwards or like today I walked right after breakfast. I always have a full bottle of water during my workout also. HTH I'll do my crunches and Shapely Secrets exercises tonight so if it helps, just pretend I'm working out right along with you

I was just checking the boards and started reading the posts - there doesn't seem to be any "lazy" girls on here!!

Keep up the good work everyone - I had started a thread in the Exercise Board a long time ago called "Anybody Want to be a Treadmill Buddy No. 2?" You are welcome to stop by and post! There's also a lot of inspiration going on there with all types of workout! We can all get together and support each other! Hope to see you!

Thanks Lisa - guess where I went tonight!

20min on the treadmill, and 20 min on the elliptical - I do a lot of interval stuff, like 2min running, 2 walking, etc, so I try to stay working hard. I get bored easily so I need to maximize my time on the cardio machines!

Did arms, but kind of as an afterthought - just a few free weights.

Thanks for the motivation!

Ideally, 4-5 days a week. I don't want to pick days, I just want to do some kind of physical exercise every day, and get in whenever I can. My gym by home is open from 5 to 11, and the one at work is open from 5 to 9.

I. Have. No. Excuse.

When I was on Atkins a few years back, I lost 30lbs, and I think a BIG part of that was because I made it a point to get to the gym almost every day. I did a lot, too - I was doing 30min on the treadmill and then 30min on the bike or elliptical - no wonder I did so well! My schedule isn't as permitting these days, but I can't let that be an excuse. It really is the only way for me, regardless of WOE.

So this year's resolution is to quit making lame excuses for why I can't go!

Good for you!! ITA that doing something everyday is ideal-I have a problem with taking a day off cuz then I keep making excuses not to get back to it. I walked 45 miles in November-and then on Dec 2 I took a day off and then never got back on the rest of the month I am trying to incorporate some free weights for my arms and for now i'll continue the treadmill for cardio. KUTGW

Yeah treadmill! I went at the gym HARD last night - 30min treadmill, in 2min intervals - 6/3.5/5.5/3.5/6/3.5...and then did the elliptical for 30 min (2 min intervals again).

You ladies are doing a great job - keep up the good work!! I worked out today on the TM also - I walked an hour which I haven't done that in a long time. Felt good though.

To pace myself, I have been walking every other day during the week, Mon, Weds and Fri and then one day on the weekend. Have a nice one!

Gym today - 30min treadmill in 2 minute intervals - 3.5mph/6.0mph, then 10min on the elliptical (i got bored, though, haha), and a few odd ab exercises.
I really like this thread!

AAAAAAAND I went to Marshall's and got 2 pairs of track pants, 2 sports bras, a Ca-Yuuute adidas gym bag, and a really cute l/s dark pink adidas shirt (for the day I'm confident enough to work out in a non-T-shirt). All for $80! This'll really get me jazzed

Hi Del - WTG on doing the hour - I have cardio ADD and I have to strap myself to the treadmill for 30minutes

I'm at work today, and the fitness center here is now open 7 days a week - so I went! I'm so glad I did! 30min treadmill, odd spurts of running/incline - it's Sunday, and I think yesterday I may have done too much on my ankle, so I wanted to take it easy. Then I did the elliptical for about 15 min, then I did a good 4 sets of arm work with the freeweights (Watch, tonight I'll be too sore to work my bra hooks ).

Lisa - ITA - it DOES help to look cute at the gym - I like to wear a T-shirt with my rugby team name or from a 5K or something - makes me feel all Sporty Spice

Aija~ You are doin great! Did you get to the gym yesterday? I only did free weights and Shapely Secrets exercises - no cardio. I have a sinus thing going on now (I can't breathe - UGH) so Im just doing what I can. TOM should leave tomorrow and hopefully I can get back into my TM routine. Have a great day

I AM JUST LOVING THIS . . . To read about true and sincere progress in the workout department makes me so very happy!!! We all know that we can DO THIS!!

Today is a rest day for me. But, I will keep checking back and forth. Yesterday, I walked 35 mins on the treadmill. I am encouraging my DH to walk more too. He did something yesterday - he ran for 10 mins straight and I am so proud of him. He's eager to shed some unwanted pounds too.

Lisa - ME time is always great and I hope that you feel better and you're doing a fantastic job know matter what workout you do.

Aija - You Go Girl!!! You'll reach your goal sooner than you expect with consistency in exercise - that's the key.
