OK well Im snacking too much again!

So last night I sat down with a full meal of steak, broccoli, cottage cheese and a tomato slice and wasnt hungry even at bedtime.

I think my problem is that I dont allow myself to eat enough at meals. So I am going to work on that!

Laurie that's a lot of hard boiled eggs in one day. I like them too but prefer the whites over the yolks. WOW a personal trainer. How neat. I think I need to have someone with a cattle prod follow me to spur me on.

Bella do you have a certain time to snack? I just follow a plan more or less and try not to snack unless I'm at a certain time.

Saturdays' lf & lc menu

  • 1/2 decaf black coffee, 4 cups all day

L: left over chili dog pie (LindaSue Recipe)

S: 1 of Rebecca's brownies

D: Big Taco salad

S: if I want them (10 macadamian nuts) I'm craving them, but my deal is only if hungry!

Workout - 4.25 mile run at lunch! Best part it was a SHORTS day... 50 degrees!!!!

Nah... just a real small mfg co. (25 pp) with a VERY GENEROUS Owner. I don't use the company Healthcare so another woman and I approaced the owner with the proposal and he gladly agreed . Much less $$$ for him and it keeps us HAPPY!

As for plan update... trying to keep more to the EFGT totals - higher fat/enough protein - but w/ lower carbs... I really feel best that way... Tracking w/ fitday for the next few days to tweak the totals, I'm not worrying so much about calories, but fat/pro ratios.

B: coffee w/ cream - 2 fried eggs in butter w/ a slice of cheddar cheese

S: 1/2 Rebecca's Blondie - celery w/ cream cheese

L: Chicken salad

D: probably chicken or fish & salad, been eating way too much beef and tomorrow is steak and salad night

S: yogurt/ricotta/cream cheese w/ english toffee stevia (made a big batch had to use up the left over ricotta.

Workout: 15 elliptical and 45 w/ personal trainer.... Not supposed to BUT - it is going to be in the 60's today so I might just go for a quick 3 mile run tonight afterwork.... tomorrow is suppose to rain then I won't feel bad for missing my noon run and just do a little speed work at the gym tomorrow night on the treadmill or x-train.

Good to be home and have encouraging news, I think. The radiologist said that the lesion was not that big. And I noticed on Dh's admission paper they they had changed the diagnosis from lung tumor to lung nodule. I still think (am hopeful) that they were seeing his pacemaker. We will have to wait until Tuesday or Thursday for the results. We see the doc on Thursday, but I will try to call on Tuesday. Dh really tolerated the procedure well and we were home by 4:45. Got there a 7:45.
Brought my own food today.

Thursday's lf & lc menu

  • 1/2 decaf black coffee, 8 cups all day
Brunch: 3 carb light & fit yogurt
    12:30: carb clever peach slices
    4:00: banana w 2 tbs bean-CO-Peanut butter
6:00: left over corned beef and cabbage

Loretta - How is your husband doing?

I'm on my next experiment - I feel way better v-lc and higher fat and just enough protein - shooting for twice the fat/prot ratio... Working great and FEEL amazing... With only a 2 lb change in the scale - I can see my body looking very cut! I've been averaging between 1800 and 2200 calories and about 70-80 gms protein/140-160 fat.

B: Flax pancakes, with butter and 3 breakfast sausage

S: ricotta/yogurt/cream cheese w/ english toffee stevia and a piece of chopped coconut bark

L: left over pot roast, mixed w/ celery, wasabi mayo/may on 2 Cleo's revoloopsie rolls (tweaked w/ garlic & cheese and a bit of garlic butter drizzled over the top when done)

D: not sure yet - dinners have been lighter cause my meals have been more dense - maybe chicken wings....

Workout: 15 elliptical and 45 w/ personal trainer

Laurie I have found that so long as I keep my carbs below 30 or so a day that I can eat pretty much higher calories, but it's when I raise my carbs up that I have problems.
Not sure how that fits into the calories in calories burned theory....?

Ya know - it's funny, back in July when I added back in weight training and August added personal training 2X a week and running again, I talked myself into thinking I needed more carbs. For me I don't and don't like the sluggish bloated feeling and hunger that comes along with it and the weight gain.

After about a week eating way more calories and fat for the first time in a long time I feel so much better and stronger. Great runs and great training session today - I feel better and have so much more energy.

I know what works for me and should just stick to what I know works, not mess with it enjoy my once in a while treats and get on with life.

Thanks for asking about Dh Laurie. The news is not good at all. He has cancer in the lung, pelvis and hips. Not curable. Treatment options for his condition leave radiation as the best choice. We have a few weeks to absorb this news so we have become accepting and will do what we can and enjoy each day to the fullest. They have not said and we have not asked about a time line.
