Miss ~ congrats on the 5 lbs. That is AWESOME! Good for you.
So, many of us ex-KK's girls, and overweight ladies in general struggle with body image issues and Kimmer only fueled that by projecting her self-hatred on to those of us whom she scammed. But, I saw two things tonight that really made me feel good, and I wanted to share. First, the new issue of People is out and it's the only issue I buy every year because it focuses on real people who've found a way to lose a bunch of weight. They also did follow-ups on previous featurees. So inspiring. But, that's the nature of REAL success stories. Not a Russian bride anywhere. Not one single one! Then, quite by accident, I watched "How to Look Good Naked" on Lifetime when I turned over to watch Frasier. It was different than I thought it would be and it reminded me how many people fight weight and body image issues. The only problem I had was their misspelling of naked. Dangit, I'm from the South and (Bamagal, back me up here) isn't the correct spelling NEKKID? ![]()

"I was a little worried yesterday when this thread "exploded" with activity. It is my hope that the site will remain as Gran says, "calm and respectful." In fact if you will all take a minute to read the TOS and the "Read this first" threads you will see that the main goal of this site is to welcome all LC lifestyles into a safe friendly place. I don't think this thread has violated that ideal, but it is treading the line. Thank you all for remaining calm and having a "grown-up" conversation. <snipped> I think that as I reread this thread that we all agree that Kimmer's ideal plan is not healthy. We here at the site do not recommend that anyone follow that plan. I think it is obvious that we all agree that fats are not evil. I have proven to myself that even though I started eating lower fat meats, and less cheese, that I still had more fat than anything in my diet. Maybe the confusion in this thread is the title. What if we renamed the board to something like "Balanced Nutritional Ideas" I had not heard before that too much protein could cause a stall. I need to go look at what I'm eating and see if I can cut back on protein for a while. Might help me out. One final thought. The forum at Camp Carbaway has been created to help each other on the path to weight loss. We opened it up to give people a home who were not welcome at other forums. We don't want this place to become a fight. Please continue to post your feelings, thoughts, and experiences. Remember that we are not doctors, or nutritionists (unless you really are) and that we are all just sharing the things that we have learned from other resources. The whole medical profession does not agree so how on earth will we all agree. Take others comments in the manner meant (which I hope is friendly info) and return your comments in kind.") Then TT posted something - which she erased at some point - and that's when Jimmy posted his "good-bye". Lord knows what she said to him. Also: TT was touting her Kimikins-style plan as CTF (cut the fat). Last edited by gibster : 01-05-2008 at 05:56 AM. |

We had our heavy winds on Wednesday and Thursday prior to the rain. When I wrote that post, I'd just gotten home and the rain was just starting to get hard. It rained pretty hard all last night, so it should be interesting to see what the news has to report from the burn areas. Sorry to hear about your fence, but I'm glad you still have a roof. Stay safe and warm.... |

Sheesh... just thinking about the underhanded reasons she gave Jimmy a "free membership" is making my head hurt. I wonder if she's been this manipulative since she was born or if Kimmer gave her free how-to classes on exploiting others. |

ITA... I also think maybe she thought to herself "If he endorsed KK at one time and Hidey got all those new memberships, he could endorse me and I could too!" Jimmy learned from his mistake, too bad SWSNBN didn't. |

Someone e-mailed me this post from Kimmer. I don't know if this was posted before and if so I apologize. It has to do with the controversy:
" Kimkins Controversy Print E-mail Dear Kimkins Members, OK, so it's time to come clean. In view of recent events and the feedback I've received from members, I've decided to set a few things straight. Those of you who know me are well aware I'm a private person and prefer to remain that way. However, that doesn't seem to be in the cards. So, let's put a few questions to rest: Q: Who is Kimmer? A: Heidi Diaz Q: Why the drama, denial and hiding? A: For the past 10 years it was to avoid an invasion of my own privacy. However, for the past 3 years it was also to protect the identity of my foster children. California foster regulations prohibit foster parents from making statements that would identify children as "foster", even by association. If I'm identified so are they. Q: Did you lose 198 pounds in 11 months? A: No. But I did lose 100 pounds in 6 months. Since Kimkins appeared on the Woman's World cover, I've been glued to my computer. I'm no different than you and I'm very familiar with stress eating or grabbing what's handy instead of what's Kimkins friendly. Q: So you've regained the weight? A: Yes, but that's due to personal issues and is no reflection on Kimkins. I've been back on track for several weeks and you can track my progress on the Kimkins homepage. I'll be experimenting and rotating with various Kimkins diet options. Q: What about the model photos in some of the Success Stories? A: The majority of our earliest Success Stories were from another website and we couldn't take those with us. We wanted to show visitors the possibilities with Kimkins. So, while we built up our newest batch, I created stories which were a compilation of successes that people shared with me over the past 10 years. We're extremely proud of the successes of everyone who follows the Kimkins weight loss plan. Q: You have been photographed without hair. What's that about? A: I developed alopecia universalis 23 years ago. It is an autoimmune disease that causes total body hair loss and runs in my family. My other autoimmune conditions include hypothyroidism and eczema. Q: Will we ever meet "Kimmer"? A: I'm going to do my best. I am truly a shy person who prefers to stay in the background, but a Kimkins Cruise is in the works for 2008 and I'll be there to meet & greet everyone! We'll also be asking members for feedback on local meet-ups so everyone has a chance to meet me and network with each other. Support is everything in successful long term weight loss. Q: What about the people who joined Kimkins because of your weight loss or the success story re-enactments? A: I offer my sincere apology to anyone who felt misled or joined purely on that basis. That was never my intent. Bottom line is that Kimkins is a rapid weight loss plan that works without surgery, special food or pills. We'll offer a refund and membership cancellation to anyone who joined prior to 11/1/07 and isn't currently using the website. You can't continue using Kimkins resources and ask for a refund later. Please write support@kimkins.comThis e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it with your full name, user name, PayPal transaction ID number and mailing address. Q: What about the people who want to continue with Kimkins? A: A lifetime membership is lifetime. You're here and that's permanent! In fact, I'm part of the "Watch Us Lose" models on the homepage and update my stats each week. I'll lose my weight all over again and everyone is welcome to lose with me me. Baseline medical tests done before restarting and I'll share my initial and final results once I reach goal. Members can check in on my daily posts at my weight loss discussion. Q: Anything else? A: Kimkins works. I've offered diet advice online for 10 years and was hugely successful which is why Kimkins became a hit. I helped people voluntarily for 8 years and then started a website. My goal has always been for people to learn the very simple, very effective basics of quick weight loss. This remains my focus today. Q: What about starting a Kimmer Challenge? A: Excellent! Let's do it! Check out my Kimmer's Back on Track Challenge thread and say "Hi!" One of our ladies was recently chosen as a model by her local health club! Q: Where can I find out more about the Kimkins diet? A: Read through Thinking About Kimkins for some frequently asked questions and a 3 day sample menu. If you have additional questions, you can write me directly at AskKimmer@gmail.com.This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it Members can can find me in the Kimkins Cafe forum! 2008 is here. How do you want to spend next summer? Sweaty and hot from lugging around extra body fat or trim and healthy (and wearing cute outfits)? Your choice."

Her explanation post changed. It is now called "The Kimkins Debate" (as if there's a debate that it's a complete FRAUD) and it's been edited. Thanks Cheryl for archiving the original here.

the original text from "The Kimkins Controversey" included a deadline for requesting refunds, people only had like 3 or 4 days to get their refund. now, it seems from this current section that anyone who's not currently using the site and was a member before 11/1/07 can still get a refund. this is her way of trying to undermine the lawsuit. |
