SOOoooooooo.........They say:"Out with the old, and in with the new!".

Did anyone make a New Year's Resolution?

I did....and I'll be the first to share!!!!

1) I resolve myself from trying to change things that I can not change.

2) I will try my hardest to live a healthy lifestyle by:
a) healthy way of eating
b) I will strive to reverse the bad choices that I have made, by not following my own gut feelings, that are effecting the goodness of my families psychological health. (Return to first resolution, as my bad decisions were made by not following that philosophy)

This about it!!!!

Good Morning. Where's the Coffee? I don't have a "hang over" (I don't drink) But Irelyn's Gums were bothering her last night, and I have had about 2 1/2 hours sleep.

My butt is dragging and she is an Angel this morning with Smiles all around.

I feel like a "Granny" this morning. I'm going to need a "Nap"!

I noticed that newfocus posted on the old thread. So, I left a hint about how to find us. Click had to track her down, and tell her how to "get back to us" after her first posting. So, hopefully she will be able to find us here.

newfocus, I'm glad you had a good day with your three girls.

We are always learning something here and I look forward to what you will have to share. It's so good to see you posting. Happy New Year to you, too.

Happy New Year!!!

Here is a link to the old thread for history sake (in case anyone wants to look back) Old Timers and Newbies Challenge

I just woke up. Hubby let me sleep in this morning. My In-Laws flight was delayed until 9pm tonight, so he's been busy cleaning. I have a good hubby.

My resolutions:

1. Continue my way of eating.
2. Get back in the Word.
3. Participate more in church and community events.
4. Stay out of the fascination thread. I dont need the negativity in my life. Its been a focus too long.

Good morning, Pear.....Banana!!!!

Your resolutions are nice goals to make. They, also, seem very doable...not too far-fetched.

I'm so happy to have met all of you!!!

Hopefully, we ALL have a wonderful new year as we travel through this journey....I call life....together!!!!

The snow started-in last night. It is still snowing, and there is over a foot out there already. (Lake Effect)

Although I can not change the fact that we have this much snow, and it's still coming down, I can't help but to feel trapped!!!! Before moving here, I didn't mind a day of "being snowed in", but I really don't like how it "feels" here......I keep pacing around!!!

Great resolutions, Pear, you can do it and I think you will.

I will commit to continuing to stay clean and get healthy again.

I'm the type that if I start cheating it will grab hold of me and continue on a downward spiral. I guess I am a sugarholic, much like an alcoholic. I just have to stay away from the stuff completely.

If I cheat the cravings will return and I will be back where I started. Therefore, my resolution is to stay away from unnecessary, unhealthy carbs.

Ooooh, it would be so cool this time next year to be celebrating our goal weights

I ordered sugarfreesheilas cookbooks yesterday. There is a recipe for dutch butter cake (boterkoek) in there I am dying to try. She posts here on lowcarbfriends. Has anyone been to her website? She has amazing before and after pictures.

Well, I got away from my Exercise when the "Kids" moved in with us (When Irelyn was born). I'm going to start my exercise routine again and get into the Best shape I can before boating Season. I can't wait to go "boating" again. Hubby and I spend every weekend on the Lake. Sometimes we go during the week too, and then I just drive him to work in the morning and go home from there. We had so much fun last summer.

I also want to do alot of painting and redecorating around the house.

The "key" is to "Catch it" BEFORE you get to the downward spiral. For goodness sake, when you need to...talk about it on here.

I have been around these boards a LONG time, and the people who have the most problems "Sticking" are the ones who suddenly stop posting because of a few "poor Choices". They feel "guilty", then don't post...and before you know it, they are off by themselves and listening to the "Old Mindset" and "Old Voices" in their head That keeps them from getting back on track. They are back to the "What's the Use" and "I give up and don't want to think about it" Mindset.

We don't just celebrate the "Good Times" on here, We "share" and encourage in the "hard Times" too.

The Key for me, is to remember that we always have "Choices". Just because you made 1 poor choice, doesn't mean that you have to continue making those Poor choices. We don't have control of the Past, nor the future, but we Do have control over "Right now". The "choices" at hand.
