Regarding Dr. Mark...

Okay, so we enter my area of expertise...

I work in higher education and have for the past 9 years..

First of all, according to the US Dept of Education, Florida Institue of Traditional Chinese Medicine is not accredited.

Any school not accredited by the US Department of Education's regional accreditation agencies will not be able to produce a degree that qualifies a student for a PCP (Primary Care Physician) license in any state in the United States.

Secondly, the accrediting body ACAOM (which is not part of the US Department of Education, meaning the schools that it does accredit are normally the kind that you see advertised on TV that offer a high school diploma, medical billing diploma, technical specialist diploma, etc) withdrew its accreditation of the Florida Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine back in 2002.

* Florida Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine
"Master of Chinese Medicine" program
St. Petersburg , FL 33709
Candidacy : 05/95 ; Accredited : 11/99
Last Review : Fall/02
IMPORTANT NOTICE: The Florida Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine's (FITCM) accreditation status was withdrawn effective November 18, 2002 . The school has entered into a "teach out" agreement with East West College of Natural Medicine ( Sarasota , FL ) where FITCM students are completing their training

So, everything Dr. Mark says amounts to jack squat. So says me.

They list the Florida Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine in that 2002 article as FITCM.com, but that is no longer a website for that college....

I'm not a big fan of Western Medicine, really, but I'm even more leery of someone who calls themselves a doctor, but they surely do not have a doctorate degree, nor are they a "medical doctor" in the truest sense of the term.

Heck, I've had enough schooling to consider it "pre-med," but I'd never think it legal to go to an "Eastern Medical Philosophies" school and then call myself Doctor.

I realize that states are licensing them...maybe just to keep better tabs of the practices? I dunno...just seems really shady to me.

shoot I was in the middle of replying and the topic locked so I'm not sure if this was addressed or not but YES a member of the duck patrol wrote a letter to that site asking if they knew who the lady in the red dress was right after that after pic was found from the WW mag. They posted about it in the topic even. This was before the rest of the fakes were found and the search was new so it should be in the topic after the second TV show was aired.

Posted by "Dr." Mark as a response to a fibromyalgia question

"Re:Fybromyalgia 2 Hours, 52 Minutes ago
Lady Shamrock is so right.

The key with fibromyalgia is to keep moving. Stretching and moving lymphatic fluid (drainage) throughout your body.

The other key is sleep. Do whatever you can to make your sleep as productive as possible.
Hints:
Regular sleep and wake times +/- 30 minutes
No Caffiene in the afternoon
Dark, Dark Room

With fibro your body essentially does not reach the fourth stage of sleep...the stage where most growth and repair goes on. If it does, it bumps out of it very quickly leaving you feeling like crap in the AM no matter how many hours you got.

Anything that moves _meta_bolic wastes and helps you recover quicker will improved symptoms. Sorry you have to work through the pain but that is the path to freedom from it.

Good luck and stay strong.

The others are right as well, weighing less will help your journey in the long run.

Dr. Mark"

I'm sorry but I've seen this other kind of speech in his other posts. Methinks Tippy should use a grammar checker as well as the spell checker when she posts.

So, everything Dr. Mark says amounts to jack squat. So says me.
Maybe this info should be presented to Dr./Mr. Mark on the KK site and see what he says..... I'd be interested in his come-back.

What is Dr./Mr. Mark going to do when the TV interviewers want to talk to him in person for the follow-up on KK's situation?

Not only is Heidi liable - I would think that WW is also responsible and they have deeper pockets. Just think of all the magazines they sold with that cover.....

I read something that did say something about a 4 year degree so I am not sure about that, but not finding a whole lot on this school unless it's about it's probation. Not sure that this school is in existence any longer.

Can some_one Please ex_plain to me what the heck is go_ing on with this break_ing up of words?
The simplest explanation is that this is a scanned piece of text, and those are break marks from the end of one line. The poster evidently was in such a hurry that he/she forgo to check the line adjustments. (Forget what they're called.)

BTW, financial problems don't make a school's accreditation invalid, but maybe the school is laying low and thus is not drawing attention to itself. A perfect setup for some lifting of text, wouldn't you agree? Particularly in exchange for some moolah! (But our Heidi would NEVER do that - pay for it, I mean.)

In fact, it looks suspiciously like a printed news article with a sidebar or illustration down the right side, which would account for weird breaking in the first few sentences, then far less in the body of the article.
