Great new Del, you have proved that this really can work! Thanks .

I have a Tanita scale in Devon but I seldom look at my body fat. I must do that next time I am there. I did check my BMI the other day, can't remember the figure right now but it was spot on for my age etc. I was really pleased.

B: Shake
L: Shake with strawberries and flax
S: One minute muffin? (does anyone eat these? they are awesome!)
D: Pork chop and cabbage
Exercise: 45 minutes on the treadmill

Have a happy!

1 Minute Muffin

Happy Friday everyone! The weekend is almost here! I am weighing in at 162.5 and that is a half pound loss for me. It is my first loss in almost two weeks and it is small but I will take it. I am hoping that it is the first sign of a woosh. This has happened to me before and the scale always ends up moving in time so I remain positive. Sometimes I think I take a break because mentally and physically I have to catch up to my weight loss. I do not know if that makes any sense to anyone but me????? My body tends to drop weight in spurts instead of steadily and as long as I am dropping I am happy. I feel so lucky to be on this journey because I am learning so much and the support here is phenomenal.

My routine remains the same for today.
B: Shake
L: Shake (may add blueberries for a change)
S: Ham and veggies
D: Not sure yet maybe Mexican????? We have been eating at the local Mexican restaurant on Friday evenings-fajitas without the tortilla-delicious!)

Have a good day!

You make it in the microwave! That is the beauty of it, no need to turn that oven on

Happy Saturday! I went to a football game last night with the hubby and kids. Can I be vain and admit that it is nice to be noticed by men again? I had been overweight for so long that it has been a while since anyone has looked at me "that way". I am not a real attention seeker but it made me feel like a million bucks! OK, enough true confessions and on to the business at hand. Here is my plan for the day:
B: Two eggs cooked in a pat of butter
L: Shrimp salad
S: Atkins shake
D: Grilled loin with green beans

Have a delightful weekend!

Homestretch! Love it, well done, it will be nice for you DH to know that you are admired too!

I made the 1 minute muffin yesterday with the almond flour and cocoa and added just a little instant coffee powder, Mocha Muffins! I will add the cinnamon too next time, this is my 3rd go at them and I love them, so adaptable.

I want to try a truly savoury one soon.

**Kissa**You are right, I think it is good for the hubby to know that he has a desirable wife. I have not tried any variations on the one minute muffin yet but I will. Someone even mentioned that they used it as a hamburger bun! I have never tried almond flour is it ground almonds? Let me know what variations you come up with so I can give them a try. How goes the shake routine? I am doing fine but I think I am going through one of those stages where my body is changing but the scale is not. The scale has not showed much movement but I put on a pair of capris from the beginning of the summer and I am having a hard time keeping them up. That is fine by me of course but I swear they were not like this even a week ago. I am getting used to the way my body is choosing to lose right now. It is funny how different I am losing now as opposed to when I started out.

Here is my plan for the day:
B: Two eggs cooked in pat of butter
L: Shake with strawberries and flax
S: Coffee with CO and half-n-half
D: Pork loin and veggies (leftovers....oh well...I do not have to cook)

Have a great and relaxing Sunday!

Yes, the almond flour is simply ground almond, sometimes called almond meal. It makes a more cake like muffin. Very nice.

Sounds like your fat is just melting away. I love it when that happens!

L: 1 minute muffin-I am going to try it with pumpkin
S: Shake
D: Taco salad

Have a wonderful day!

homestreatch how long were you on the shake thing that you lost 10 lbs? i need to get motivated. i went to the dr. and got my chemistries done and hoped that would spur me in the right direction. i have been just down and unmotivated. when i start to stay on i get grumpy and go off then i am depressed and have no energy. so today i am starting the shake thing. i will let you know how it goes. does the minute muffins make you stall? i like them but the calories are high (with co and creamcheese on them) but they do fill me up. i will let you know how i do starting today...pray for me.

I started the shake routine on July 24. So it has taken me about 7 weeks to drop 10 pounds. I initially posted that I was going to try the shakes for 10 days but they worked so well with my lifestyle that I have kept at it. Considering I am getting close to my goal so I think the weight loss has been pretty fast. It is a very easy routine and there is such good support here!

I just discovered the muffins about a week ago so I cannot really speak to how they will effect my weight. I am a calorie counter so I just figure them into my daily calories. I also wanted to share my new favorite one minute muffin recipe:

Pumpkin one minute muffins
Basic recipe accept omit the butter
3 TBSP pumpkin (I used Libby's in the can)
2 packs of Splenda instead of one
cinnamon, cloves and allspice
microwave 1.5-2 minutes instead of 1
soften 1oz cream cheese and blend with Splenda and cinnamon
Cut muffin in half, ice with cream cheese and enjoy!

This is to die for! It is very moist and tastes like pumpkin bread or pie!

Sorry I have been MIA for a couple of days.

Wow Homestretch, well done, you are so close to goal now, the shakes really do work for you, great job.

Welcome Mom...you will get great support here. Fight on, and remember to love yourself first! You have value, no matter what you weigh. The shakes will help, and so will we if we can.

yes i have 2 boys and 7 girls (good thing we like to throw big parties). i came from 8 kids so i am use to it. well today i weighed myself because i felt thinner (i won't step on the scale but once a month...i usually lose 5 pounds or less on induction so my weight loss is slow) but i did and after 1 day i lost 2.5 pounds!! this hasn't happened since my first atkins days 10 years ago. this seems doable but hard sometimes but it is good to have something layed out for me. good luck (i am far from maint.)

Yeah momof9 Way to go with the loss. I loved coming from a big family and I would have liked more children (I have 3) but hubby was not into it. I am lucky I got the third child since he was happy with 2!

Wednesday
I have been having a terrible time sleeping and as a result my whole body is sore. I am trying to add a few more carbs to see if that settles me a bit. Anyone have a remedy? Even the Benadryl and Valerian that usually makes me sleepy is not working. My plan for the day is:
B: 2 eggs cooked in CO
L: Shake
S: Ham and cauliflower
D: Chicken and green beans

Have a wonderfully successful day!

Great work Mom...

I was so rushed today that I only managed one shake, a cold duck breast and some grilled cheese.

Thank goodness for the shakes!

Hi guys. I like to join you on this plan. I started yesterday. Didn't think that I could last with just 2 shakes for the whole day and then a LC dinner but I did! Was hard though. I did it with drinking lots of water, LOL. So I am here on day 2.

I talked myself out of weighing this morning, since whenever I have kept myself from weighing every day I was more successful. I am shooting for once a week but will see how long I will last, LOL. Glad to be here.

I did read the whole thread yesterday and it was very motivating. Congratulations to all of you who have lost and have been keeping it off. I did lose all that I wanted three years ago with LC and fasting, but I did gain it all back. I am very determined to replicate my success of three years ago and keep it off for good this time.

Yesterday I tried both chocolate flavors of the shakes and I have to agree with all of you that Royal tastes better. I like to try other flavors as well, will see. Anyhow, glad to be here and be accountable.
