I"m glad to hear you have help Justine. I was wondering how you could do what you do and keep up with kids too. Hospice Nurses are great, my best friend had them when her husband was sick. They made things much easier for her.
`
I have diuretics, but try not to take them unless I really need them, I get leg cramps easily... best to drink water and get your feet up. (my feet swell when I retain) DD19 hands were swollen when we finished walking this morning.. I know I use to do that, but it would go down when I cooled off.

I need to rest, Im so fatigued this evening and havent done this in a long time.. ready for bed.

Down to 192.... 2~ I love seeing the 2~!!!
I cant wait to get into the 90's.. well you know what I mean...190's LOL

walked this morning.. seems we find the same people at the track.. we thought we were doing so good when we did 3 laps yesterday... leaving we spoke to a lady who was probably in her 70's and she had just finished 6 laps. And an elderly gentleman who was working on his 5th. He told us we were doing good and glad to see us there.. apparently they are there at the same time and can tell we are newbies... of course we are newbies, we are waddles walking! I love the fresh air and just getting up early( up at 5am anyway) and going is so nice. I leave the house at 7:30am and pick up dd19. Done by around 9am and just makes the day go by nicer... Next week we have to get out by 7am due to dd19 schedule.

bf: 1 sausage pattie, canned ham, mayo,sf relish, tossed salad. I was hungry and Im grocery-less today.
L: more salad to finish off the bag
D: taco salad, just too hot to fix a big hot meal.

Have a good one ladies! I'm out to get groceries.. hope to find some good sales!

Oh btw Justine, please watch your sodium... the deli meats and cheese can be high in salt or msg.. esp the prepackaged sliced cheeses!!! the blocks of hard cheeses etc have never gave me problems but the processed cheese products do like crazy.. swelling!~
Hotdogs and deli meats have lots of salt.. I know they are easy to grab and such but will wrek havac on the ol bod! Lots of water... hope the swelling goes down... nuttin worse then retaining water !!

hugs from ms. knowItAll!! LOL!

Hey that's how I learn by others misstakes. LOL

I've been buying low sodium lunch meats from deli case and the bagged shredded cheese is low in sodium. I also buy low sodium bacon.

I also woke with TOM again...it's to soon, not sure why? So that could be reason why so puffy but i'm not taking chances I upped my water.

By the way, DD13 made the dinner last night. She did a great job.

Menu today:

Leftover chkn
cucumber salad

salad w/ tuna
ranch dressing

Steak
Aussie fries

glad to hear you are watching your sodium... smart... I wish I could find affordable low sodium lunchmeats.. I dont know why they increase the cost when they leave something out... too special I guess! Hard to find nitrate free bacon too. Unless I want to go to the EArthFare Market and its very pricey!!!

I cheated this morning.. after walking .. dd19 and I went to breakfast. I ate half a buttermilk biscuit. It wasnt what I was expecting. I thought I can do some biscuits and watch what I eat the rest of the day.. It just didnt even taste worth eating. IM glad I didnt try french toast.. SF syrup , it would have been all over with..
Control... is not my best friend!

Have a good one ladies!

You know what, Paula- I believe that when you are exercising as well as you are, you are allowed to cheat a little every now and again. It makes the "diet" a lot more tolerable in my opinion. I cheat, often. But, hardly ever go overboard. Although, I have really blown it a few times. Besides, you did great with cheating as little as you did. Aren't you actually supposed to eat more carbs right after exercising anyway?

Justine, I am thinking about you and hoping that you are doing well. The hospice careworkers are angels. We are grateful for what they were able to help us with when my DH's stepdad was dying.

I have been sick for the last three days. The summer cold that the kids have all had has taken hold of me. Today, I am finally beginning to function again. My weight went up to 173.5. I haven't eaten much. I am back down to 172 this morning. I am seriously wondering what the carb counts are for medicines.

My cruise tickets came in today! I am so excited!!

Dunno what is for lunch today, probably a peanut butter truffle. Dinner tonight is gonna be buffalo chicken salad on lettuce. Mmmm!

Stacy sorry to hear your under that weather. Those medicines are so full of sugar. I buy the sugar free, they taste nasty.

Paula don't beat yourself up over the buscuit, just do better at your next meal. I so proud of you sticking with your walking.

Had to take DD13 for physical for sports today and while I was gone grandmom feel again, I know she wants to try and keep using the potty but she's going to end up breaking a bone and then be bed ridden. Gosh i could use a drink. LOL.

I did it. 170.5. Cruise weight goal #3, weigh less than DH, and 60 (and a half ) pounds lost! Being sick all week long hasn't been such a bad thing I guess. I am beginning to function again. Just get winded easily and then cough til I am blue in the face. So, the house is a wreck.

I am totally stressing out today. Like I said, still a little under the weather, the house is trashed, we are going away Saturday night (leaving the kids home) and not returning until Sunday night, we have a friend flying in from TN on Weds. that will be staying here (and will stay til the following Weds.), we leave next Friday. Somewhere in there I need to get all of our stuff together, clean the house, make sure the animals will be taken care of while we are gone, pack, and whatever else happens to come my way. I may start drinking and may not stop. Sometimes, life needs to slow down, just a little bit.

Thanks Justine! I really appreciate the support. Yer the best!

Took some cough medicine. Now I am not coughing, but I am so, so tired! Just not enough time in a day to be sick, is there?

sorry for being gone.. yeah the biscuit did me in.. I ended up cheating the rest of the day. I ate half quart of LOwcarb ice cream... thats still not good. Just ate all day..
I was back up to 197.5 yesterday evening..Im ready to toss the scales.

Took two days to get back in gear, and its still hard. Im so hungry right now, but Ive ate... cheese... broc/steak leftovers... as much water as I can stand.. I dont think its TOM.

I did work on a wedding cake friday and did good not to taste anything..icing included. Im not doing free cakes anymore.. too stressful.

Stacy,
I'm excited about the cruise and I'm not even going!!!!
Please take lots of pics for us girls.~

I've kept up with my walking.. not sure how many days straight. My legs are killing me!
Im afraid Im gonna have thunder calves! I need to work on my arms.. so flabulous looking.. hangie dangie~

I"m wanting to ask hubby about having a friend come next year and stay two weeks, but scared to ask.. thought about getting him drunk and then asking.. make him sign a paper... then remind him later... I will burn for that one!

Have a good weekend! and monday too..
more later!

I haven't even touched the scale. I'm doing good but i'm totally stressed out. DH and DD13 are fighting like cats and dogs, and he's po'd that i'm not taking sides. She's so mad at him that she told him never to talk to her again. I kind of feel he's bullying her but i know if i say it to him he'll just go off on my, so i'm staying out of it.

Plus DH decided that we were going to spend way more money than we have today...i am now the proud owner of a new washer, dryer, side by side frig and a snow blower...

Paula, i hate when i eat something off plan it really throws me in a tizzy for a few days. Try eating tuna today, you may find that tomorrow you'll be down a few pounds.

I feel very bloated, the skin on my hands feel tight. I think its because i didn't have the opportunity to drink water all day, only diet soda which i don't usually do.

I use to make the girls hug when I heard them fighting...they'd stop fighting just to get me to stop telling them to hug. but girls are diff from bro/sis.
My oldest brother use to beatup on me something awful . Mostly I was abused as a child but not by the parent, but the sibling. I really do hate my brother even as old as I am now. I hold my mother to blame also because she never stopped him, just would tell me to stop whining... I have a fracture on my skull from where he hit me over the head with the heel of a cowboy boot. He'd torment me at night, thats too long for details. He had karate lessons and would practice new moves on me... I was too small to stop him...Just make sure you defend your daugther when needed... another ms knowitall lesson.. HUgs girl~! ps, he can take care of mom too when she is too old to do it herself~

I'm not walking today, I have to give my legs a rest. I'm sure I should up my healthly carbs but not sure how to do it without it causing a binge. HELP~
I would love to go walk but its Sunday and the parking lot is so empty and no staff at all.. Saturday there are some there.. I cant get dd13 to go. ((Oh she's DD13 now. turned over her number Friday. Got $60 from DH... I got nuttin~!LOL...She wants to open a savings account.. good thing. ))
Back from rambling...

I'm feeling swollen this morning... I guess Ive gotten into sodium somewhere, so hidden in everything packaged etc. I wish I had the $$ to buy fresh everything.. no more canned this and that... but i dont want to gut my own tuna either... dag I need to get in a better mood... has anyone esle noticed how much griping IVe done lately.. maybe I need to attack my DH.

anyhoo.. hope everyone has a good day..

Mary, if youre watching.. how do you keep your icing from cracking??? after Ive smoothed it, it dries and cracks... agh!~ not nice looking..

Well I know what you mean when it comes to bro/sis fighting. My bro's use to beat on me big time. But this fight was between Darling Husband AND Darling Daughter, i try to stay out of it. They solved it themselves.

Got on scale this morning 215... 2 hours later it was back up to 218 but I was happy as a lark.

HTG take care of kids to get them ready for school. I type more tomorrow.

Well yesterday I was down to 215 this morning i'm back up to 219. I can tell its from sodium, probable the awesome hot sausage we made on the grill last night , my skin is tight and my fingers are swelled up. I'll have to up the water to try and flush it out.

Hang in there, Justine. The water weight will go away. Take into consideration the weather too. I don't know if it messes with you, but the hotter the weather, the more my body wants to hold onto the water.

We leave for vacation on Friday morning. Today I weighed in at 169.5. I am pretty proud of myself for hitting my goal. Last night my DH took a pic of me. I was lying on the bed reading a book. Anyway, he showed me the pic and it was so wild to see that the person there is me. Almost looked skinny. Quite cool.

I have to really start getting stuff together for the trip. Also need to work on cleaning the house. I have zero energy. Finally getting over being sick. Then again, I have been getting better for most of the week. I would start feeling better and then I would blow it by doing too much too soon. You think that I would learn.

I am so jealous of your progress (YOUR DOING AMAZING) and your trip (I WANT TO GO ). Start packing a little at a time so you don't get run down again.

It might be the weather, i thought maybe the salt. I've been drinking TONs of water all day to flush myself.

Yeah, well, we'll see what happens by the time I get home. I may need you ladies to kick me in the butt to get back to losing. I have pretty much decided that during the day I am gonna do my best to stick with the diet. Dinner too (mostly), but I am gonna pick 3 evenings that I am not gonna worry about it. One of those nights will be the night that we go to Palo's. I sure do like the chocolate souffle there.

I am a bit bummed. I have a pair of white capris that I bought for our last vacation. They were too snug for me to wear, so they got pushed to the back of my drawer. I got them out and wore them a few days ago. Told DH that I was gonna wear them one day while walking along the beach. I washed them and went to fold them today and it looks as though one of the kids threw a wet, dirty rag on them. There is a huge stain on one of the legs. So, I have them in the wash again and I hope that the stain will come out.
