YAAAAAIIIIEEEEEEEE USSSS!!!!!! Way to go Girls!!!! I'm SO proud of YoU!!!!

Week 2 (W1) DoNe!!!!

Yipppieeee-iiiii-aaaiiieeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!

IdiditIdiditIdidit!

It's amazing how what you couldn't do the week before, you don't even think about, as your goal is set higher, so you just coast over that original mountain.

Some things along my path...

**An intricate spider's web spun between two strands of barbed wire. The contrast of the rough & rugged, rusty barbs against the delicate weaved web, covered in morning's mist, was nothing short of incredible. Absolute. Beauty.

** Little Peter Cotton Tail hopping down the Bunny Trail *laugh* Flushed up a little bunny, and she ran almost along side me for a second, then hopped across the road into the deep thicket.

** Flushed a bird out of a low limbed tree almost RIGHT over my head. Scared the bejezus out of me. *laugh*

** Running past some cows, they all just stared at me, and I couldn't help but laugh and wonder what they were thinking.

** Little barn kitty playing outside...

Off to shower!

Hi runners!

Week 6, Day 1 completed today . As others ahead of me said, it seemed harder than doing the 20 minute run on Day 3 of Week 5. Also I do this after work, and I'd been standing all day today. I ran slowly, but speed is something for the future. Now I'm happy to just keep putting one foot in front of the other.

We're doing great!

Keep up the good work everyone.

That'll be fun Des. How exciting.

You can always hunt for another one to do when your finished with your training.

This'll be good to give you a taste of what it's like.

It'll come up quick I bet!!!

You can always run your intervals, and you might surprise yourself and do more!

I decided to go ahead and try week 2 instead of repeating week one.
well I tricked myself by saying that I'd do week one again but by the time I got warmed up I decided to go for week two. Sometime I have to trick myself like that lol

I'm feeling pretty proud of myself

Joining in...if no one minds.

Did week 1 day 1 this morning. Having not ran in 7months, it was a challenge for me to even do this. I am so glad I did it though. Felt good.

Join away welcome welcome!

I've never ran before at all. I can't believe next week I'll run for 5 minutes straight. Week 4 looks scary, week 5 looks horrible

Hey, everyone is doing great!!!!

wow, Jazzy.. week 5! I can't imagine...

Des, so glad you found a race near you... and the rest of that event looks like a lot of fun, too.

Mrs. Johnson and Sherik, welcome to the group!

Holly, great that you finished week 2. I know what you mean about the sweat.. I don't remember sweating this much before at the gym. I make sure I bring a towel, now.

lil'joy.. I'm doing week 2, too. glad to have company!

Sunabee, I see you are still getting in those early runs! good for you!

I did day 2 of week 2. I got thru all the way, and did an extra jog for the last jog I couldn't do on day 1. I am noticing my heartbeat doesn't get as high as before and goes down quicker. This is good. Isn't the body marvelous at how it adapts?

This will take you to the section to download to just an MP3 player, doesn't have to be a Ipod.....

day two week two done!! Then I had to go to the laundry mat and do laundry. I thought I was gonna sweat to death. Jumped on the scale when I got home to see how many pounds of sweat I'd lost but gained 2 pounds since this morning instead of losing lol

yes, I'm finding the same thing.. going up and down 2 pounds.. but going up after exercising. but I wonder if because I am sweating so much more than I'm used to, and drinking more water than I used to.. I wonder if my body is trying to compensate for the change by hanging on to the water?

although.. I haven't really seen any sign of water retention. I will say, I am sweating more, even with my regular weight routine. My body seems to want to sweat more just in general lately...

well, I bet it is a temporary kind of thing.. I think my body usually rebels a bit at first against any kind of change.

Hello everyone.

Lots of new starters, that's great!

Week 6, Day 2 was completed yesterday. That was warmup, 10 minute run, 3minute walk, then 10 minute run. It's still hot here and even though I'm indoors on a treadmill, I'm dripping by the end. I have a fan blowing on me, so I sweat more after I finish, than during.

My breathing is good. The weak link still seems to be my legs, mainly the calves. My thighs don't bother me. Due to the legs aching, I am going pretty slowly, and not worrying about distance right now. I see next week is all 25 minute runs, as is D3 of this week. I think I'll end up staying at 25 minutes until it becomes something I can do without having to really slow way down or to stop and walk during it a few times. All week 7 is is adding another 3 minutes for 28 minute runs and then the final week is 30 minute runs.

Keep going! I'm reading a book by a guy who runs at the back of the pack in races, and he talks about not comparing yourself to others, just doing this for you, and taking your time to get better.

Finished W1D2 this morning. Seemed a little harder to do it this morning. Wonder if the humidity here has anything to do with it, as I do it outside. Will see how D3 is, and I might decide to repeat W1.

5 am wake up.

Sitting here with my second warm mug, looking out the window, wishing I could run!!!!

I noticed when I ran yesterday, I could run for a distance, and my breathing was NORMAL, like regualr, have a conversation normal, instead of panting, gasping, and having heavy breath/being short of breath.

It really surprised me.

I'm finding too I can run for a greater distance without feeling like I'm going to fall over...lol

Last night, I signed up for my first 5k. It's called the South Sound Running Pasta Dash - there's a 5k, 10k, and other races, and it's a run/walk.

It starts at the Farmer's Market downtown (in a town 30 minutes away, our state's capital), and ends back there, with a big pasta meal celebration and a beer/wine garden, and live music.

It's held on Saturday, September 15th, at 6 pm.

I won't be finished with my training, so I plan on also scheduling one for sometime after I'm finished training as well - though the sooonest one I can find for that is in December! I'll keep looking.

I've noticed even in this short time, my legs are getting firmer, and I'm getting more definition in my calves.

I need to go hit the shower. Today's my last day of class! Yaaaiiieee!!!!!

I'll be back in here after school!!!

GO LADIES GO!!!!

well, guys.. I'm out for a week.

I had a little procedure at the gyn (vaginal band fix), I thought it would be just a day off of the exercise. but she said no gym for a week. I'm pretty sore when I walk or sit down.. so I'm not going to push it.

but.. I will be back!! I like this program. and the people here!

I just did my 25 minute run!! Slow, but I did it. When I start, my calves always burn, and I think I can't make it. I told myself, just do 10 minutes, then I can walk a bit. I did the 10, then said, try for 15, then try for 20 and then I had done the whole 25, without having to hold on to the TM or go down to a walk.
