Hello Ladies! Well, the scale has me back to 202.5 today. That's a good thing. I have both a digital and an analog scale. My digital one almost always shows a lower weight, so that is my favorite. I get to pay bills today. Also, working on laundry. I made the mistake of going into the kids' room and there were dirty clothes all over the place. Yuck. I did exercise today. My DH got me out of bed to go for a bike ride (ask him, I am not a morning person. It took a bit of effort on his part to get me going. ) so we went for a quick ride to the park and back (1 mile. I think that I am ready to go a little further. My knees aren't killing me anymore.), then did 55 reps on a cardio machine that we just got, and an hour of yogalates.

B: strawberry almond crumb cake
L: hot wings
D: pork chops and spinach

It started out being a Raspberry-Almond Crumb Cake. I have used SF raspberry jam and this time SF strawberry jam. I can't wait to try SF blackberry!! It is really, really good. The recipe is found on this thread. RASPBERRY-ALMOND CRUMB CAKE

DS13 brought home a note today, there was a kid in his school that was arrested for threatening violence against staff. That is about all that the note says. Last week there was someone is DD16's school that was arrested for having a hit list and bragging to other kids that no one has seen anything yet. WTH are these kids thinking?

We have been invited to go to a Cinco De Mayo party this weekend. I have been designated the person to bring food. I am thinking a 7 layer dip, chips, and sliced veggies. If I can find an inexpensive roast, I may take some machaca and tortillas. Any ideas on something kinda sweet?

Hi All,
Sorry I haven't come back to say HOWDY again. I just wanted to say that if you have a Kroger near by you PaulaJean they carry stevia too. Although, now that I've said that they do only carry the powdered stevia I believe. I am partial to the liquid, but have also tried the powdered and it works well also.
OK kids, I will pop in every once in a while to say HI!...if it is OK.
Bye for now >^.,.^<

This is what my wise ol aunt charlotte told me, she sits a 5lb bag of sugar on her scales before she weighs in, esp before going to the doctor. I dont have a 5lb bag but if you have some hand weights or anything you know the lbs. Sit it on the scales and ck it for accuracy.

Hello Mary, I did find some stevia, and did stop at Krogers also to get the 10 for 10 salad.. the 50pk stevia was cheaper but the liquid was much more, Its just a matter of shopping around.. Also I made the trip just to get out of the house and hit a few shops that we dont have around here. I actually bought a pair of shorts size L , I tried the XL and they were too big. So I got 3 diff colors. all my shorts from last year hang in the butt., I have too much tummy and nothing anywhere else. pleased to get the new shorts in anything but a 20W!!!

Hang in there girls!

It is cloudy and rainy here today. Don't have too much going on. Gonna put together a care package for a high school buddy that is in Iraq. We hadn't talked to him in years. I happened across his email the other day, got in touch with him, now gonna put something together for him. Aside from that, I think I am gonna clean up a bit then grab a book and a cup of coffee and chill out for a bit.

B: slice of bacon
L: hamburger patty or boiled cabbage- haven't decided yet
D: taco salad

Wednesday's weight 202

Today was the first I tried the lowcarb wraps. Had to run to Dr. (went the wrong time, had to reschedule) Didnt eat BF so I grabbed provolone cheese slices and roast beef slices and found the soft taco wraps @ 5crbs each at walmart. Stole mayo packs from the deli, and made a sandwich when I got back into the car. My DD12 ate them also and loved them. I may try this on my hubby and see if I can back him off the breads.
I think you all have mentioned eating them???? Do they make you crave breads etc. So far Ive done okay. ATe the one ,then now at home just finished a second one. So one was BF and the other lunch.
Dinner will probably be something with groundbeef.
Scales said 210 again.. dont know whats up.. thought it might be the floor.. I'll just wait and see...

Hope everyone is doing well..
Hugs!

PaulaJean, what a great picture! I love that!

I really like the LC tortillas. I don't eat them very often. They don't seem to induce any type of cravings with me.

Today has been pretty uneventful. I did go out and bought a bunch of stuff to put together a package for my buddy in Iraq. Got it sent out to him. Was quite disappointed to hear that it is gonna take about a month to get to him. After that I went and purchased a couple of reflective vests so that DH and I can get on post tomorrow while riding his motorcycle. We are Patriot Guard Riders and there are a couple of funerals for soldiers tomorrow that we are gonna attend. The first soldier was only 19 when he was killed overseas. It is gonna be a really rough day. Anyway, I got some laundry done and cleaned my bedroom. Things were starting to collect in corners and on dresser tops.

Hope that your evenings are good ones. I am gonna go pick DH up from work, I dropped him off cuz of the rain.

Thanks. It was me years years years ago! Its the pic I have on wall(behind pc) for Goal. I did have it on the refrigerator until hubby asked why it was there. I dont know why it embarrassed me so bad and I took it down.

Stacy if you ever get a chance, see if you can get my family a soldiers name and address that we might be able to share .... anything ... with. Ive wanted to do that but never knew anyone who is serving. I wish they'd bring'um home! I'm sad for the lost lives of these brothers.

Im not sure what I'll eat today, I do know i have bacon in microwave waiting for me. I havent ate cream cheese in i dont know when! I thought Id try to make some mock cheesecake with it and try the stevia in it.
I need to go get groceries but so tired of running. I need (would like) to buy a quarter of beef and stick it in the deep freeze. HUbby only got one deer this year and he gives half away so I dont know whats this years or lasts. I have tons of deer sausage.. I hate it.

Cant figure out my scales they said 208 and then 205. hheheheh..Im beginning to hate them. LOL

I found marinated artichoke hearts yesterday, ate them , but had to toss the rest of the stuff in it.. green olives are not my faves ..slices of hotpepper cheese,
had tuna salad on sliced cucumbers for dinner. And peanuts.. i need to ban them from my life!
I dont think the lc rollups made me crave but I sure could have ate small children and animals yesterday. I just drank more water when I wasnt snooping thru the kitchen.

Okay I need to go eat, Im wasting the morning away..
Girls have a good one. .
Mary if you chime back in.. would love to chat with you about cakes, I did my daughters wedding cake and a few friends, I would have love to work at a bakery! I'd seen a post of yours that mentions cakes...

New scale read 229, what the heck...I'm getting clean not sure what the issue is. I looked back at a journal that I kept in 2001 and I noticed that I eat tuna for lunch 3 x a week and lost 35lbs in 2 months. So guess what I'm going to be eating for lunch....TUNA.

L: 2 sl of ham, tuna and mayo w/ garlic salt, pork rinds for scooping.

Hi Paula Jean,
That is a gorgeous picture...and I do the same thing by putting my picture on the refrigerator...making sure to take it down before anyone comes to visit .
Yep, that's how it starts...you make one wedding cake and you get hooked. That's what happened to me. I made one for my niece and couldn't wait to do another one. I got a job in a bakery back in California starting out at the bottom (cashier) and worked to the decorating table in about 6 months. I LOVE IT! I LOVE IT! I LOVE IT!!!
I make wedding cakes for a little lodge in the mountains. I sort of fell into it. I had thought about getting a REAL job, but since retirement I have gotten real lazy. This suits me fine and brings a little money in and I can make up my own hours. I have at least two cakes a month during the Winter but get real busy during the Summer...this is the busy time I think the only thing that saves me is the fruit and veggie drinks I drink everyday...if not for them I would be flat on my face
If there is anyway I can help you out with anything...like how to get started or whatever else you need to know...just ask away.
SORRY FOR THE THREADJACK

Hey Y'all, you guys are sure doing good. Such motivation here. I also belong to an exercise challenge and try to keep myself motivated and accountable over there....come join if ya all like...it's fun...it's the "losing our cabooses" challenge.
Have a great day all! >^.,.^<

I wasn't able to see your cake pix Paula Jean on myspace, but I would love to. Do you have to be a member?
I think you should put your name around for cakes. There is NOTHING like a homemade cake! Try putting your name around at church etc. Start out with something not so overwhelming like birthday cakes...before long you will be very busy!
Have a nice eveing all. >^.,.^<

Hello Gals!

Just stopping in real quick to say hi. Busy trying to put a trip together for a family to take to Disneyland.

We went to the funeral for PFC Avery this morning. It was so sad. He was just a baby- only 19. It is amazing the family responds to us with such gratitude and we are the ones that are honored to be there. PaulaJean, if you are interested I can absolutely get you a soldier's name.

When I got up this morning the scale said 202.5- 203? I hardly ate a thing yesterday, so I think that PMS is starting to set in. I am very cranky with the kids, the scale is creeping up, and I really have the munchies today. For lunch we went to Applebee's and I ordered a Grilled Shrimp 'N Spinach Salad- the menu says "An irresistible mix of tender spinach, fresh diced tomatoes, bacon pieces, roasted red peppers, red onions, toasted sliced almonds and hot bacon vinaigrette - all topped with seasoned grilled shrimp." and also Chicken Fajita Rollup "This is how we roll. A large flour tortilla stuffed with smoky chipotle chicken, melted Monterey Jack & cheddar cheeses, shredded lettuce and pico de gallo. Served with Mexi-ranch dipping sauce." (there is a lunch special so you get two smaller items instead of one), anyway, looking at the menu, it all looks pretty good, healthy. Well, the vinaigrette was really sweet and I ate about half of the tortilla with the stuff inside. So, I think that I hit those carbs right out of the ballpark today. Didn't mean to... So, the scale will probably go up again tomorrow for a couple of days.

Anyway, gotta get back to work. Will check in later.

B: none
L: Applebee's (oops...)
D: taco salad

yes mary I do believe you do have to be a member. give me a day or two to see if I can get back into an old geocities webpage and I'll post some pics there. I dont do bday cakes cus its cheaper for ppl to get them thru stores but do anniversaries weddings babyshowers cus its speciality cakes. There just too much time and work and dont pay enough to make small ones. but i enjoy just being able to be creative. I have a anniversary cake scheduled for NOv. and they want it purple and black.. and I can do it anyway I want.. can you imagine what you could do ! I might try one of those twisted tilted cakes.. lol..

Today Im trying to do the fat fast... meat thingie..
Ive done fairly good. bacon for bf, lunch was antipasta and green beans, and salmon and tampilia(sp?) thats good white fish!

Ive done real good on water today . Had three 20oz glasses . And thats good for me.

Stacy, can my daughter send like a care package to a group. I dont know the terms used for a group of guys together. She was thinking about sending some of her dads last year hunting and fishing mags and maybe some of his cars books. thought they might like reading them. I rather see them put to use instead of going in yardsale pile. send me a private PM and and addy for a group.. Im sure you know what Im trying to say..
Do you think that would be good?

I know we're not suppose to worry about calories but something is making me stall. I was at 211 this morning. I ate mostly meats & fats yesterday plus greenbeans.. and I gained. BUt im sure my calories were high. I wish I had my old book and double ck against what was posted.. anyone read up on the kimkins?

Are you getting any salad greens...I think, if you are doing Atkins we are supposed to get 2 cups a day. Also, watch your salty foods. I always put on a few if I have salty stuff. Your getting your water, so that is good. I try to keep things real simple and eat broiled or grilled meats and tons of veggies and "legal" fruits. I make a drink around noon time that has all of my salad greens, a tomato, some red and green bell peppers, parsley, strawberries, blueberries, celery and brocolli spears in it. I first put 1 1/2 cups of grapefruit (unsweetened) in the blender container and everything else on top of that. I blend it until it is thick, but completely pureed. It is the only way I can get any veggies in me most of the time...and it gives you a ton of energy. It does take some getting used to, but now I love it. I also do the same thing with V-8 juice...I just omit the fruit...but you could use it if you wanted to.
I hope everyone is enjoying the sunshine we are having here...have a great day! >^.,.^<

Thanks Mary. Honestly, all we are doing is remembering and honoring a hero that has given his life for ours.

Your shake sounds like a great idea. Dunno if I can drink it though. I may give it a try...one of these days. I think that I need to cut back on my salt intake. I am wondering if that is my problem... I do need to increase my water intake. That and start biking with my hubby in the mornings on a more consistant basis.

I have checked that out and I have thought about trying it out. I haven't done it.

Today I am going to take DS7 to the zoo for a picnic. He has the day off from school. I also really need to take the time to vacuum the living room and dust it too. Yuck. I have finished Callanetics today. As soon as I am done on here I will go get on the rowing machine and do a little of that.

PaulaJean, I will get you that information hopefully this evening. I think that sending the magazines over is a really great idea! I mentioned that to my hubby this morning and he told me that he is gonna get his together too so that I can send those to someone for him.
