Well, Hi everybody. It was really hot today in Texas! When I went out this afternoon the thermometer in my car said that it was 84 degrees! I actually had to turn on the air conditioner for a bit.
Kayan thanks for the chowder recipe. I have seen the jars of coconut oil in the store, but I wasn't really sure what to do with it. Does it make things taste like coconut? Your last post sounded as if you are about to go on vacation. Where are you going to go? Your husband is really sweet. I have been gifted with diamonds maybe four times in the 17 years we've been married, but only one of them on our anniversary. He gave me the others on Valentines Day and Mother's Day. Congratulations to you too Leslie for your anniversary. With the divorce rate being what it is it's a wonder that any of us have made it even as long as 17 years. When my former in-laws (lol) had their 25th anniversary we gave them a small reception at the church-he was the pastor. We gave my parents one on their 50th and the renewed their vows, it was so sweet. Well, I haven't weighed since I have come home because I'm afraid to see what damage I have done. I've been moving more and drinking about 8 16 oz. of bottles water a day. I am starting to lose the caffeine withdrawl headache finally. I still want to drop twenty pounds before the end of May when my son graduates from high school. Well, I had better go for now I hear my son coming in, and I have hardly seen him at all this week. This poor kid goes to work right after school everyday and gets off at ten. He has a track-meet all day tomorrow, but will at least be off work tomorrow night, and thinks he may be able to squeeze in a visit with his girlfriend, whom he hasn't seen in days since they don't go to school together. Have a good night, Carolyn |

Morning ladies,
What gorgeous day it was yesterday and is supposed to be that way through the weekend.... Another day of eating on track, drinking 3+ liters of water and exercise.... In spite of all the donuts and stuff at the office yesterday.... Last day of work today for a week.... Am sooo ready to have some time away.... In our staff meeting yesterday afternoon, got a new project to work on when I get back... Carolyn: ITA on the length of marriages..... My parents will celebrate 54 this year and inlaws will have their 50th in May.... Sue: sounds like you have a keeper there in DH..... I hear ya about the computer room.... I never go in there cause it drives me nuts... all the cords and such.... I am going to tackle it next week though... Don't fret over the slip-up..... Jump right back on board..... Leslie: take measurements now.... and pics.... full body shots (front and sideways), and face closeup.... When I get discouraged and think "why am I doing this with no progress?" I pull those out and see how far I really have come on this journey.... It does help.... Everyone have a wonderful Friday...... New upscale shopping center opening here today... May just have to go check it out next week.... Tiffany's, Neiman-Marcus, and others..... something like 30 stores..... I've never been in a Tiffany's before....

Hi Friends--
Just a quick note. I'm off to the farm today to scrape more paint off the stairwell. Oh FUN. My caretaker friend says he may have to dig out a space for me to park after the snowfall we had earlier this week! I am having this weird issue with "roaring" in my ears that doesn't stop. It started about three days ago and is like having your fingers in your ears only being able to hear over the top of the underlying sound. Hmmm. I went to visit my sister during the fenciing practice and got drug off to the mall so that my 13 almost 14 year old niece and 2 of her buddies could shop for their 8th grade graduation dresses early. What an experience! It's hard to find dresses that aren't made more for older girls/proms right now. Unfortunately, that's the kind that she ( She's really truly sweet, but kind of sashayingly proud of her newly developed, still skinny mininess.) gravitated toward. As my sister said to the snort's and giggles of the friends--"We are not looking for graduation dresses that show off the 'Bazoongas'!" Gasp! Snort! THe silly friends had a camera and were shooting pics of each other in their tried on dresses, over the top of the changing room door, chasing and hauling each other by the heels to "show my Mom how you look!" THen the food courts and to two additional stores to see what they had after putting stuff on hold. Good lord--we didn't get out of there until 9 and then my niece found she'd left her coat in the changing room on the far side of the mall. Run!!!! After having all boys--I find that girls really are different when you spend time in their company. I never had the "Mall Experience" with friends. We spent time at each other's houses doing things there and always under some sort of adult supervision along the way (at home Moms). No drop off at the mall, thing. ANyway--it was a trip and a half--but they wore me out! TTFN! SUe Last edited by Suji : 03-09-2007 at 04:59 AM. |

Hi Ladies:
Sue: Ha Ha Ha. You crack me up. I've done the mall thing many times with my girls for prom dresses, 8th grade dances, etc. Hair do's, shoes, purses, and other accessories, a tiarra even. They are so funny. Since I work in a building that has a bridge that connects to a huge mall, I brought my DD1 and her two friends to work with me one morning when they were in 8th grade. They spent about half the day at the mall, then got kicked out. There is an ice skating rink in the middle and some other kids were spitting or shooting spit wads or something off the bridge over the rink. Unfortunately the security guards thought it was DD1 and friends. I was so embarassed. One of the friends' mom came to pick them up because I was stuck here at work.So Carolyn: How was the trip? I bet you had a great time. How was DH when you got back. I totally understand the busy kid syndrome. DS is so busy and he's always so tired. I got his mid-term report card though yesterday and he's done quite well. He did have a C in Math, but his teacher emails me and said he's brought that up to an A. He is trying hard and he does care about his grades because he saw how much $$ DD2 got for college on her grades alone. So the golf coach is now narrowing down the players. DS is in the running. He's among 4 who are on the bubble. After spring break, coach will select 2 of the 4 and the rest are out. HMMMM. So much for making the team. Pam: We have one of those upscale shopping centers here. It's on the "west" side of town. Here there's a big difference between east and west. I live on the east side. It opened with a Crate and Barrell and then went from there. I've never been because I don't think I can afford anything. I've been told to go because it's beautiful. Maybe some day. My scale is still finicky. Up the lb I thought I was down yesterday. Dang, I so want to get to wonderland. It's taking forever!!! ![]()

Why do we have to have inlaws?
Well, this weekend is off to a super stressful start. If I don't end up single-handedly eating everything in the house it will be a wonder! I think that I mentioned a while back that we are in the process of selling our family farm. It actually belongs to my husband and his three brothers. Now that we are a week and a half away from closing, and I have packed the contents of my house, one of the brothers is balking saying that he doesn't want to sell all of the property that we have contracted to sell. He wants to keep an acre and a half for himself. Our fear is that when my husband tells the buyer this he is going to refuse and we will have lost our buyer. My BIL has never been the sharpest knife in the drawer, so this really comes as no surprise to any of us. There always has to be one troublemaker in every family and he is it.So, I can't remember if I mentioned this yet or not, but I am going back to school. I will start on the 26th. I am a little nervous though because I haven't been in a classroom in such a long time. So right about the time I am in the middle of moving and living in a travel trailer for a couple of weeks I will also be starting school. I will be pleased if I can just avoid gaining weight during this ordeal, much less losing any. Sue I really enjoyed hearing about your mall experience. I only have boys and my brother has three girls, and I have to agree with you. Girls are a completely different creatures! While I do love my nieces, and think they are adorable, I have to admit that our home is much less dramatic than theirs. I think God knew that I wasn't cut out to mother girls. My brother on the other hand does have the patience of Job. Leslie, my trip was great. I just didn't get much sleep, but I'm already looking forward to doing it again next year. DH was fine when I came home. He was very busy when I was gone and I think he found he didn't feel as lonely as he thought he would. I'm sending out prayers and good thoughts for your son to make the golf team. My younger son didn't make the tennis team. He was bummed at first, but because he is already in football, baseball, and track, so he finally accepted that he could live without tennis. Actually he is now glad because his GF is also on the track team and had he played tennis he couldn't be with her during track meets. (he is madly in love for the first time.) He is going camping with his GF and her family for four days beginning Sunday. Our Spring break just began here. Pam, I think I forgot to congratulate you on your great loss--so here is your standing ovation: You are giving me hope. Are you finding that all of the extra water is filling you up so that you eat less? Hi Sherry and Kayan, I hope you girls are doing great! I believe that I am going to take a sleeping pill, otherwise I may never go to sleep tonight. Have a restul night everyone Carolyn |

Happy Saturday Morning,
Up bright and early again today... Am going to see my grandma and meet up with my mom and her siblings... Dad isn't going because my sister is still very sick... Scale is down 2 lbs this morning... eating is still on track but didn't get quite as much water down yesterday... and made it to exercise again.... Sue: How are your ears doing? Hope you are better.... Loved reading the mall story.... I have one of each so I followed along quite easily.... Some of our most favorite times was shopping for prom and dance dresses.... I remember her senior yr of HS we took pictures in the dresses and then made a scrapbook page with kind of a cinderella theme. Had a mirror on the page with the caption "Mirror, Mirror on the wall, which dress should I wear to the ball" then on the opposite page was a large picture of her in the dress she chose to wear (tiara and all)..... Leslie: Sorry to hear that DS is having to go through the waiting ordeal again... I really hope he makes the team... Your DD mall story is pretty funny also.... probably wasn't then though.... Interesting that your upscale mall is on the "west" side.... So is ours... On the weight, just keep hanging in there..... I stalled at 202 for a couple of months, then thinking back I was at that weight for a long time on my way up the scale... Carolyn: Sorry you are having to deal with the inlaw issues.... It is frustrating when you do all the work and then someone else comes along at the last minute and throws a kink in things.... Congrats on going back to school.... You will do great.... Are you going for anything specific or just going? Hope you ended up sleeping well...... Am officially on Spring Break... No work for 1 week... am hoping to get some things done around here.... Will be spending Mon and Tues at my inlaws scanning their old pictures and slides... I want to get going on the video for their 50th anniv.... Gotta get some emails finished so I can get going..... Have a wonderful day everyone..... |

Good morning ladies,
I hope that you are all enjoying your Saturday. It is a beautiful, warm and sunny day here. It is supposed to be in the 80's again today. We are not only dealing with the obstinate BIL now, but also an obstinate buyer. I can empathize with the buyer though. We are only two weeks from closing and now BIL is wanting to rework the deal. I could strangle him! Anyway, if it doesn't work out as we had planned I am sure that we will adjust. Anyway, I am not going to dwell on this and allow it to ruin my weekend. Pam, good morning and thanks for the kind words. You are down another two pounds? You are making amazing progress! Sue, are you feeling better? Last year I had the same problem and it lasted about two weeks before it just went away on it's own. I know that mine was a result of having water in my ears from the pool. Well, I better get outside in the sunshine and do something. I need to brighten my mood. Carolyn |

Good morning everyone:
I just got back from my golf course walk. I did this thing called g-pedometer, I can't remember the website, but it's on google or something and you can map your walking route. It gives you calories burned, miles, etc. It's really cool. We are doing slightly under 5 miles at the golf course and my lunch hour walks are a little over 2 miles. So if I go every day, except tuesday which is group meeting day, I go about 18 miles a week. Phew. I had no idea. Sue: I hope your ear thing goes away. That must be miserable. Pam, wow, you are losing so well. Carolyn: Oh the stories I have about my inlaws. I hope all goes well and the sale goes through. Congrats on going back to school. I've been told by a lot of people I should. My boss has always wanted me to go to law school. I think they would have supported my attendance and let me keep working, but I had babies instead and now, I don't know if I have what it takes to go back. I think if I do go back it will be to take Spanish classes. A lot of latino people have moved into the area. We have had several as clients and it would be really helpful if someone in the office knew Spanish. I went to dinner with a friend last night. We went to Izzy's. I was able to stick to just the salad bar and only one serving. It was tough to resist all the good food. But I hung in there. I wish I could get more enthusiastic about going out to dinner. I get frustrated with just being able to order salad or meat and veggies. Have a great weekend everyone. Because I was so busy at work yesterday, I had to bring work home. Bleh, I hope I get it done. Morning Ladies
Yea!!! I have the weekend off. 2 days off in a row. That hasn't happened for a couple of weeks. Will be going into town later today. Lots of errands to do. Have to get my nails done, pay the cell phone bill, do grocery shopping, pick out paint, have hired an uncle to do some painting for us. and then maybe supper out for DH and myself. Tomorrow will be busy with laundry and cooking. Still short at work, a nurse still on vacation have to work Mon, Tue 9 hour days, then Wed. 14 and Thur 9. Then wll be leaving around 5pm for mini vacation. Will go to Con. and stay at my girlfriends brother's home for the night and then leave Fri. am for Atlantic City. DD1 who lives in upper N.J. just outside of Newark will come down and spend Friday afternoon with me. It will be nice to see her haven't seen her since Christmas other than on the computer camera. Carolyn: What are you going back to school for? Hopefully your sale will still go through and things will all even out for you As for the coconut oil the wal-mart brand Lou-ana does not taste and I use that in making my flax bread and english muffin bread. For my coconut bark I use Now brand virgin coconut oil that is cold pressed and unrefined. That has a very mild hint of coconut flavor. p.s. I also have a cousin named Carolyn Pam: congrats again on your continued weight loss. I know exercise is key....but still...... I don't get off my butt. I am telling myself that once spring comes, if it ever warms up, I AM going to walk every day!!!!. Leslie: You will make it to wonderland, just hang in there. Sue: You certainly do have a wonderful husband. Dh and I celebrated our 30th last Nov. and he surprised me with a night at a lovely hotel. The suite had a fireplace in the room, a tv and phone in the bathroom!!!! and a spa. We each had a masage and a wonderful gourmet meal in their restaurant . My DD's were quick to tell me that daddy thought of this all by his self. When they told him our anniversary was coming up, Dh told him he had all under control. They were impressed. I do have to admit, that DD's have helped him out in the past for B-days and Christmas, but he is finally coming into his own after all these years. My shopping trip was Okay, did find a couple pair of Jeans, Not exactly what I wanted, but boght them any way. Why are all the jeans made for teen agers . I have had 3 children, I cannot wear jeans that come to my hips . My belly hangs down over, Not a pretty site. I need waist high Jeans. which are near impossible to find or ones that don't have holes in them or skinny tapered legs. Where are the Jeans for real women??? Well, enough complaining everyone have a good day and wil talk to you later Kayan |

At first I am just going back to take computer classes. When I last worked Word Perfect II, and Lotus were the standard-so to say my skills are outdated is and understatement, also some financial management classes. If all goes well, and I can adjust to being away from home after so long, I will continue on. I really don't know for sure. I am interested in nursing, also in nursing home management. My background is as a Prudential Marketing Associate (insurance sales), and I totally burned out years ago, so I don't want to do that again. I was a legal secretary/legal assistant in my twenties, and I really enjoyed that field too, so I am undecided. I think it's time for me to move on to the next chapter. I have seen my ex-mother in law age so quickly, and I really believe it is because she didn't have another roll to step into when her kids left--she just thinks her life is over.
I'll be 43 next year when my youngest goes off to college. I think that is just too young to be retired. I want to become whatever it is that I might have been before the kids came, and my elderly parents and grandparents needed so much of my time and care. It looks like the ignorant BIL has finally calmed down and come to his senses, but I wouldn't be surprised if he rears his ugly head again before the closing on the 20th. For now though he is agreeing to continue on as planned. I have spent most of this day packing. I am going to have a truck full of things to donate to charity. Unfortunately we live so far out that they won't come here to collect donated things. Kayan, I know exactly what you mean about the jeans. I usually get so discouraged when shopping for them. If I find one pair that I like I will buy multiples. I have found jeans that weren't too low cut at Lane Bryant and Cahterines, also at Walmart (But they are the Mom jeans with the tapered leg and higher waste, but there is plenty of room in the fanny and thigh area. Oh! I also found a couple of pair that I liked at Macy's, you might check there. Leslie, I am absolutely sure that you have what it takes to go back. My good friend and neighbor was an RN a few short years ago and went back to school and now she is a nurse practioner. She began her career at the age of 37, and began going for her masters at the age of 45. I remember her telling me ten years ago that if I didn't pursue my dreams, in would still be ten years older, but not have realized my dreams. Her words have stayed with me for the past ten years. I think that it would be really great to speak Spanish. There is now a very large Hispanic population in Texas. Okay, where is Sue? I am wondering if she is alright. Actually I am worrying. She is usually the first one to post and it just feels that something important is missing when she isn't posting. So, SUE if you are around please check in and let us know you are alright. Have a good evening everyone, Carolyn |

Morning,
Did everyone remember to set their clocks back???? DH got all of ours done last night before we went to bed..... It was such a pretty day yesterday.... Had a wonderful visit with family.... After visiting my grandmother, my mom, my aunt, and I found a new little antique shop to rummage around in.... Tried a new recipe last night for dinner.... Stuffed Poblanos.... definitely a keeper and will be making it again... DH really liked it also.... Eating and drinking still on track.... Leslie: The walking is wonderful.... We have a park close to here with a walking trail.... right now the weather is ok to walk in but during the summer it is just sooo hot.... If you decide to go back to school take just a couple of courses in the beginning to get back into the swing of it... I just took a spanish class in January... If you decide to take one I recommend looking for an Immersion class... You will pick it up faster and the words that you learn are the spoken language and the most common words used.... Carolyn: Let me know what you end up taking.... I teach computer classes to adults and quite a few resources I could share with you.... Glad to hear that BIL has come to his senses... Where are you moving to? Kayan: Hope you are enjoying your weekend.... sounds like your vacation plans are taking shape... hope you have a great time and get some relaxation in.... I hear ya on the jeans issue.... I actually have found some at Old Navy that I really like... They are "just below the waist" and fit really well... I also have some from WalMart that fit at the waist... I just can't do those low cut ones.... We are supposed to get some rain today... That would help make the ground softer when I start digging in the flower beds this week.... Have a wonderful day everyone..... |

Morning All
Thanks for the tips on the Jeans. I never thought of Old Navy, I think of them as a teen age store. I have never tried wal-mart jeans will have to look there. I actually found a pair of Lee's at J.C.Penny's but that is where I usually buy my jeans and I wanted a different style. I wear the mom jeans high waist and tapered legs. I wanted boot cut and a med to dark blue that didn't look like it was 10 years old. I did find a pair into Macy's One pair in the whole store!!!!! I was so disappointed and of course they were not on sale , almost didn't buy them as they were not boot cut, but the right color and fit really well. I hemmed and hawed over the price but I went back and bought them. Then I found a pair at the L.L.Bean outlet store, these sit below the waist but the right color and boot cut. now if I could only combine them and come up with the perfect jean beautiful day here in the 40's Major heat wave. Carolyn: Glad that BIL has come to his senses.Going to school can be challenging but You will do fine. Adults are a lot more comitted then younger adults. I was a L.P.N. from 1972 to 1983, Then In 1983, I was married with a 2 1/2 year old and a 9 month old and I went back to school to become a RN. It was rough, but, we knew that it would benefit the family in the long run and it has. Pam: How did you make the stuffed poblanos. Dh and I with DS and GF ate a small mexican in town last night. I always get there fiajita's (SP) with no wraps and a side of sour cream and guacomole (sp) Leslie: the web site sound great I will have to try and find it. That would be cool to do and maybe that will motivate me to get my butt moving. Sue good morning to you, With all that you do I am surprised that you have time to post at all everyone have a good day Kayan |

Oh hey! Not to worry--I just don't post much on weekends and this last week has seen me travelling around a lot. Mom arrives tomorrow, so I'm trying to get everything as spic n span as possible, No dust to bother my Mom, please!
Wow--that show how difficult it can be to hold family property in common! It would have been nice if he'd spoken up when the subject of selling the farm first was broached! I have my fingers crossed for you. And Carolyn, I went back to school in '96 and graduated in '99 (finally after 4 colleges and 4 majors!) You will love it. It keeps you young in outlook to spend tije around other persons with goals. :-) Leslie, the ear thing has calmed down, but I am still suceptible to low level rumbling noises (like trucks, for example). It sets off some kind of vibration. My son2 just took off about an hour ago back tp Blacksburg. We will miss him. It is so cute to see he and his GF together. He bought her a bracelet covered with amethysts for their 1 year annuversary. Maybe I already said that. (Like father, like son!) I took my youngest to SCA on Friday--he is interested in the sword fighting, the illumination guild and in nordic wire jewelry making (twisted), It seems like there are a lot of people from my county and most seemed about my our age (40's-50's). SCA is Society for Creative Anachronisms. Yeah, Pam--isn't this weather great?! We had snow everywhere and then (Wham!) it was melting! My tulips have poked through the ground at the farm. I sure hope all the viburnums I put in made it through the winter. Kayan--yes the posting is an exercise in responsibility when I am busy. BUt, really, I have time to post to people I am growing to care about. (Hugs to all of you.) Sue (with the windows open!! In MD yet!!) |

Hi everyone. I had a really busy sunday.
Glad you are okay Sue. Yah we had one of those days that was supposed to be pouring rain. We didn't get any. It was so warm outside. I finally clipped my roses back. Oh, and you all will be so proud. I finally made DS's curtains. It was so easy and I finished them in no time. I wish I had done it a long time ago. I have the most fabulous sewing machine. Everytime I get started I really enjoy it. I did my golf course walk today. It was so pleasant. I wish I had more time and I would walk further. DH surprised me today with a gift for no reason. It was one of the most thoughtful things he has done for me in a long time. The gift is a heart monitor, exercise monitor type thing. You wear a device that also serves as a wrist watch. And you also wear a band around your chest, well for us ladies it's just below the bra. You press a button and it starts keeping track of your heart rate and stuff and tells you how many calories you burn and how long you've exercised. I ran up and down the stairs about 10 times to get my heart rate up and it started beeping at me because it was beating too fast. Such a cool little device. I can't wait to use it on one of my walks or when I go to the gym. Kayan: I purchased my last pair of jeans at target. I bought levis that fit great. They are boot cut but higher waisted. I love them. Speaking of cooking, I made LC mexican soup last night for dinner. Oh so good. There's none left. Your DH is a gem. Your 30th sounds wonderful. Maybe when we hit our 30th, we can do something fun. Pam: Thanks for the info on the Spanish classes. When I'm ready (which isn't yet) I'm going to take a community ed class first. If I like it or if it's not enough, I will enroll at the local community college. But that's down the pike. Carolyn: I'm looking forward to hearing how you do in school. Good for you. I still have DS at home, one getting married and the middle one in college, so it will be a couple of years before I'm ready to move on. Probably when DS graduates. If we move, which we are planning to do, I will need something to occupy my time, meet new people, etc. Talk to you all tomorrow. |

Morning all,
What a rainy day yesterday.... We got about 2 inches, but some areas got 5-6 inches.... more suppose to come this evening and tomorrow.... Went to Sam's in the afternoon and picked up some wings and Fuse drinks.... Have any of you tried the drinks? They make a "slenderize" version that is very low calorie... Gives you the feeling of having juice once in a while....... Leslie: Have seen those monitors at the store before.... let me know what you think about.... The spanish class I took only lasted for a weekend (Thurs and Friday evenings then all day on Saturday) I really learned alot.... What kind of sewing machine do you have? I have a Pfaff and love it.... I don't sew as much now as I used to though.... Sue: glad to hear that the ears are getting better.... sounds like you were very busy at the farm this past weekend... Have a wonderful visit with your mom.... Kayan: The stuffed poblanos is a recipe I found on Linda Sue's site... here is a link http://www.genaw.com/lowcarb/stuffed...no_chiles.html Is very similar to chile rellenos, which is a favorite dish of mine... Carolyn: Did you get much of the rain??? from the radar it looked like your area was getting quite a bit.... Off to get some stuff started this morning.... my niece will be here in a little while and then supposed to be going to the inlaws... Have a great day everyone..... |

Well, I'm sitting here with plastic gloves on and my hair covered with L'Oreal goop. ;-) My sister was playing with my hair and she said something to the effect of, "Wow, you're really going gray aren't you? I mean it's not just here and there it's pretty solid along the top of your head." Oooog. Time to take out the heavy artillery! Some of the family members on my Dad's side go gray solidly quite early--to a silvery tone. I've been dealing with the onslaught for a while, but it has picked up speed. Darn it!
What a GORGEOUS morning! IT's supposed to get into the 60's today and be great for a few days then WHAM! flurries on Friday. Got a note from Mom at 4 am. They have a 2 hour drive to the airport (so that they could avoid layovers and flight changes) and were up early. Mom says she hopes she won't miss all her spring flowers too much. Of course in SC, with the higher temps, Spring is in full bore (and don't they brag on that!!) ANyway--I've been a bit scattered this week with so much going on or about to, so my pardon if I've missed commenting or complimenting anyone on about info in messages above. I haven't weighed in, but I assume no losses. My sched for this week: Mom pickup today and Red Hats tonight, Frederick Friends luncheon, Book CLub and Grafting Apple Trees at the museum on Saturday. Lots going on. Talk to you later! Sue PS Sorry about all my spelling errors. I have developed a problem with transposing letters. It may be that I type too fast, but I never used to have that problem... Last edited by Suji : 03-12-2007 at 04:56 AM. |

Hi Sue and Pam:
We had the warmest day yesterday. Still warm today, but really rainy. It's so weird going to work in the dark. I got used to it being light outside. It's hard to get up an extra hour early. Pam: My sewing machine is a Janome. I love it. I've had it for about 4 years. I had a 1960's Pfaff before that. That machine served me well, but I would always have tension problems. I never have tension problems with the Janome. I just don't use it very often. It's so silly because when I do, I absolutly love to sew. I have a pants and shorts pattern that I've made before. All my shorts are too big now, so I think I will make some. They are just elastic waist, but comfy and go together in a couple of hours. Sue: You have such a busy schedule this week. Although I got my roses pruned finally, I sill have a lot more work to do. Inside and out. I need to schedule one project at a time and just tackle it. I'm feeling kind of blue today because I still show no weight loss. Its been two weeks. I got so frustrated, I ran up and down the stairs 10 times this morning before I left for work. Hopefully that will spark my body into doing something!! And relieve the blues I'm feeling.Hi Kayan and Carolyn. |

Good Morning,
Never did get the rain yesterday.... Did well on eating and drinking.... I did get alot of pics scanned but still have tons to go.... brought home a bunch to do here (think my MIL got tired) and then will go back over there tomorrow to do more.... Sue: I need to color my hair this week also.... Hope you are having a good visit with your mom.... Leslie: Don't fret too much about the lack of loss..... I have gone quite long time with no loss and then all of a sudden it starts up again.... It does get discouraging to do everything right and not see action.... It may be that you are losing some inches though.... Are you at a weight that you were at for quite a while earlier in life? I think they call those "set points"..... I got my Pfaff about 92 I guess... I haven't had any problems with it, so maybe they got the tension problem fixed.... I used to make all my curtains in the house (drapes included) and almost all mine and my daughter's clothes (even a prom dress)... Even made a suit for my son when he was 1 for Easter... Sewing was always a stress reliever for me.... Off to take care of some emails and then get busy.... Hope everyone has a good day..... |

Hi Leslie, Pam and Jayan, -- Just a quick check in.
Mom is here and I think she's in pretty good spirits. SHe is having some issues standing for long, stepping up and getting herself up out of chairs. Plus she has gained a great deal of weight since I last saw her in summer. I am hoping to help her shed some pounds safely while she is here as this excess is doing her no good at all. My sister the OT will help her with some strengthening exercises. I have my luncheon to attend today. Thank goodness it's only a half hour away. These gas prices are driving me nuts! $2.49 here. Well, my hair looks better without the gray temples and earlocks, that's for sure! I feel so..so..young! LOL ANyway-we'll be playing day to day by ear since without a wheel chair or someting to colapse into, Mom can't do a whole lot. :-/ Talk to you later! Waves to everyone who hasn't posted yet. Sue in another warmer than average day in MD |
