Pardon me for butting in, but I make my RR's with mayonaisse, and that's "legal" for the first weeks.
I started yesterday. . .made savories yesterday and plain ones today. They are not that bad, prep IMHO. Sheila, I remember you from another thread here. . .about a year ago. |

TOM question--- I cant say for sure if I am heavier.........cuz thats always anyway for me.........BUT-- hardly any cramps & NO premenstral bloat (as I am having today and very mad at myself for letting myself go .) So , Im jumping back on the bandwagon with you all. |

I got the book at a yard sale for 25 cents two weeks ago and started on the 26th.
I was 199, today I'm 189!! I'm enjoying this so much. I started with the new plan than switched to south beach but get talked out of it by well meaning relatives and rejoined weight watchers for the umpteenth time. I gained on it because I was hungry and then I found kimmer and I lost on that but missed the fat and was looking at suzanne sommers plan when I took a walk and found this book at the yard sale. I also restarted callanetics too! I'm sore but happy because I know how good it will make me look and feel! Last edited by catcookie : 03-02-2007 at 12:54 PM. |

Sheila, I used 3 T. of mayo in the RR. Actually, I used 5 T. mayo and 1 T. ricotta. . .for a double batch. Turned out LOVELY!!! I'm so impressed they turned out since one time I forgot the Cream of Tartar. Whoooooooooops! Still turned out!
Now I gotta go check my mayo for sugar. It hides everywhere! |

I made my salad for lunch today with out avacado in it. I was sad, but I lived. lol I did not think I could, but I did.
Is it that bad to have veges in the first week after induction? I know about the 2 cups of lettuce, but what about green veges? I would like to eat 2 things on my plate for dinner. Does that make sense? Is the 1973 edition book the same? |

Tia: Thank you for remembering me.
I too started gaining weight back adding in more carby stuff. It just doesn't work for me. I did get down to 126# but then in Dec. started eating stuff I shouldn't. My doctor was sooooo right when he told me that for the rest of my life I really couldn't afford to go over 20-30 carbs a day if I wanted to stay at my goal weight. Why oh why didn't I believe him? |

Thanks Cheryl. I have eaten clean the rest of the day. No more rolls. I guess I will give my other pk. of cream cheese to my MIL. She makes pound cakes. And is very tiny.

I also like cream cheese - but would never just spoon some in my mouth ...... Now if I could just get a handle on the butter issue. I like a few veggies with a ton of butter. I really should start experimenting with spices - maybe that would cure my love of butter. One thing I did the other day when I made SF orange - instead of the cup of cold water I substituted 1 C of Sunkist orange soda and also put in some dried orange peel that you buy in the small bottles. It was excellent.

I absolutely love Miracle Whip but that has sugar. Check Hellman's - I think that's safe.

Oh you are welcome. You see the more I try to help you - the more it keeps me on track - and I also need that. Like I mentioned I started eating carbs and my weight also went back up 10#. So I'm back on this WOE very strict.

I'm probably wrong because I don't have the book. Aren't you on induction? Also I know nothing about the revolution rolls - don't know what are in those. Everything else looks great.... So now it's your time to educate me. By the way I also love asparagus! |

The calorie way is not acceptable to me. . .as I stay hungry when I eat carbs. Wish I'd listened to your doctor in the past, and not just this last 7 years of lCing. . .I did Optifast back before Oprah did. . .and just didn't get the carb/calorie connection. Plus the time I did every other diet in the world!! Including Atkins '72 back in '73!!!!! |

The calorie diet does not work for me either. If I don't keep the carbs low - I get hungry even with lower calories. I guess it is just low carbs all the way with an occasional indulgence. That is my sentence! ![]() |

Ten years ago, I followed the 1972 Atkins book. To this day, I don't count "net carbs." I lost 105 pounds. Although many variations have surfaced of the Atkins diet, I stick with the original.
