Hi
My only suggestion would be to drop the sausage, bacon and cheese and try a piece of turkey or fish instead (lower calories). I would also use fitday to track hidden carbs and calories. Are you exercising? Bella |

I don't feel like I should be having to lower my caloric intake - I don't eat that much food... and most of the meat I've been eating was lean chicken. The first rule of Atkins 72 is Don't Count Calories. I feel like I should be able to have bacon and sausage (I always check to make sure they are sugar free) and I can't cut 3 oz. of cheese daily out of my diet - cheese is the only interesting part of my diet, as far as I'm concerned.
I don't exercise in a gym because I can't afford a membership...but I do walk almost everywhere (to work and home, around town - I don't have a car) and I am getting a mountain bike from a friend tomorrow so that I can start biking around and getting more exercise. |

Are you approach your TOM? Your menu looks fine - what veggies are you putting in your salad and what are you using for dressing. Please forgive me if you've answered this earlier.....

Cheryl,
Normally my salads are just lettuce, maybe a little bit of chopped celery or if I have a salad at work, sometimes cauliflower and mushrooms. I either have a little bit of ranch or caesar dressing... always making sure they are low (1 or less) carbs. My TOM is screwy right now because of my woe... so I don't know when it's coming. I'm just going to hope that this next friday yields better results. I bought myself a fancy-schmancy water bottle today and I've had two litres already so I'll be drinking at least 100 oz a day from now on. I also got a bicycle from a friend who was kind enough to also put a milk crate on the back for me, so now I can do my grocery shopping with ease! ![]() |

Don't be discouraged. You've done great so far. It will come off - just keep following your program! Also go by how your clothes fit - and try to stay off the scale. Keep us posted though - and promise you will stick with it.

Great news - but remember, you can eat more food. Did you have breakfast? I'm not crazy about eating in the morning - are you the same as I am?
How are the headaches? Good idea on weighing Friday/Monday. That way there is less of a chance to cheat on the weekend. Remember - before you are inclined to cheat you lose 3 days for every cheat. Plus you have to go through the induction flu again. Sure kept me on the straight and narrow as my symptoms were bad. |

Looking good my friend. You might want to check the carbs in Havarti Cheese - don't remember if that is considered "processed". Pretty soon you will have to force yourself to eat - won't have any appetite. Any headaches?

I promise I will! I think I may have had a water whoosh yesterday - I couldn't stop peeing all day, it was insane. Anyway, I feel great so I am going to stick with it regardless of what the scale says this friday. Yesterday I went thrift-store shopping and found a pair of jeans that fit great - size 31 - Can you say VANITY SIZING or what? I'm about a 35 right now, btw. |

Big discovery for me today- I had been hungry for 2 days, after really low hunger ongoing. The only difference in my diet is that I had a chicken sausage for breakfast that had 3 grams of carbs, which still kept me under my daily limit but when I reread the label, I saw it had apple juice in it!
So out they went..... Just a reminder to read every label.Bella |

I agree Cheryl. I recently had a run in with oatmeal and flaxmeal in my morning "egg pancake." Sheesh! the hunger after just 1 tbsp of oatmeal was unreal. I am still having the flaxmeal but only 1-2 tbsp. I would rather keep to the higher protein, keeps me full longer and satisfied.

Hello, to all! I am starting induction today! I have both the books and am so confused!! can I take what I want out of each of them and still drop the weight or do I need to stay with just one?? Need as much help as possible this time especially with tips and foods. Dont know what some of these food items are; let alone where to get them. I quit smoking Feb 1, 2007 and weight went up to 210lbs by the doctors scale on Feb 21...he said go on low carb diet. So here I am, wanting to get down to 140 by May 2008.

Bella: This is my loss chart I kept from last year. As you can see it steadily kept coming off. I didn't eat pickles
nor bread, protein drinks, etc. Just what was on the list - but I did have occasionally cashew nuts in a very small ramakin cup. That was my treat while watching tv. Remember - just keep looking at 5# goal increments. Don't look at the entire amount you want to lose. That gets too discouraging. Those 5# increments go fast. Post what you are eating so I can see what might possibly be slowing the loss.3/1/2006 183 3/6/2006 177 3/11/2006 175 3/17 178 3/31 172 4/9 169 4/13 167 5/8 161 5/11 162 5/14 159 5/15 157 5/20 151 6/3 153 6/6 150 6/13 149 6/16 147 6/27 146 6/28 145 7/5 144 7/9 142 7/15 141 7/18 139 7/19 138 7/22 141 7/24 138 7/27 137 7/28 136 7/30 135 8/1 134 8/3 135 8/10 138 8/11 135 8/13 133 8/16 131 8/17 130 8/23 129 8/30 128 9/9 126
