Hi Jenn,
Yes, actually today I was able to fit into a size 14 generously cut pants that I had set aside for monitering my loss. When I was at goal before at 150, I was wearing a 10-12 bottom and 8-10 top (Im 5 ft. 7). I think paying attention to clothing loosening is yet another perk! Good luck! Bella |

I was down with myself last night so I had "2" Atkin Bars and it knock me out of ketosis. Bathroom problem yes! I drink the Super Diet Tea once a week and that does make everything move.So today Saturday I will start fresh: I will try to follow the diet from your DR. Does my meat need to be lean only? or can ground beef be reg.,chicken light or dark meat with or with out skin? Would this be a good basic day of food? (1) 4 p bacon, 2 eggs, can tuna with mayo.,HB eggs, fried hamburgers with mayo. (2) small steak, 2 eggs, chicken legs rositated, HB eggs, ham, pork steak. Maybe in the evening : some sugar free jello & whip topping or Diet coke & run

Oh well - bars last night? Ok - I'm glad you got that out of your system. See how fast it can knock you out of ketosis. Everytime you do that you lose 3 days of your diet - so that idea in the back of your mind will stop you the next time....
I ate hamburger, roasts, chicken w/skin on. I never worried about it being lean. Watch the mayo though - remember only 2T per day and it can't be miracle whip. I don't like dark meat so ate the white. I also love pork - but not seafood. I hate seafood and fish. Quite frankly don't know the difference between those two - they all come from water. Just stick with this ...... your menu looks great! Remember - you can eat as much as you want per day - until you are satisfied.

I just look at the bottle to make sure it has minerals - it should say so on the front of the label. I use to take Myadec (sp?) - but they were brown in color and I get sick to my stomach with that coating. You could ask the drugist at Walmart or Walgreens - what he recommends. I generally look for the stuff on sale.

It took a larger weight loss to go down a size when I was heavier - but the closer I got to goal the sizes dropped faster (if that makes sense to you). I just wore all my old clothes until they were falling off of me. I then bought size 10's when I was in the 140's-150's and by the time I got into the 130's the sizes dropped about 2 sizes - into 6-8's. When I got down to 126# I could get into some 4's. Strange! |

Hi Cheryl,
Thank you so much for your answers and thoughts...it means a lot! I have a question...how much do you think I could reasonably lose from now until May 4 which is exactly 14 weeks away (3 1/2 months). I weigh somewhere around 185, haven't weighed in about a week. I am wearing a tight 14 (aack!) but would like to get in to an 8 or 6 by then. Is it possible? I'm planning to do at least 5-6 days worth of exercise each week. Menu today: Brunch: 2 eggs, 2 slices of bacon S: 1 egg w/ mayo D: pork tenderloin, small salad w/vinegarette S: if necessary, tea w/ cream or slice of cheddar How's that look? Off to do my exercise video!

I definitely think you can do this: Here is the spreadsheet I did on my loss last year. Your menu looks fantastic.

Thanks for all the information, Cheryl! You're helping more people than you know!
And the fish question; at least in my book; fish is anything that has fins and a tail only--like tuna and cod. Seafood consists of all those creepy crawly things like lobster, crawfish, snails, shrimp, oysters--do they crawl? hee. There you go--fish food 101 class! I love the fish; can do without the creepy crawlies. |

Thank you for the info on the creatures below the water..... I know you can have any seafood except "shell" seafood. Also no organ meat (liver, kidneys)...
I don't even know if people eat kidneys - but it sounded good.I hope all of you are successful. I do know that it works - if you stick to plan. Exercise is NOT needed which was music to my ears. I don't mind walking - but have never been atheletic outside of golf and that's not strenuous. Have a great Sunday - and stick to the plan. Remember, if you cheat you've backtracked by three days. ![]() |

Cheryl, Thanks again for your wisdom on LC eating.
I feel better already. Today went very well my menu: Pork chop, HB egg, went out for supper I just had steak, this evening I had sugar fee jello with a little redi whip on top. My water intake was good. My stick this evening turned to the lights shade of pink. I'm drink my tea right now so maybe tomorrow I will have some luck in the bathroom. Also tomorrow is my weigh in day, here is hoping for a loss. Last edited by kalp : 01-27-2007 at 08:38 PM. |

Kalp: Maybe the "light pink" was caused by the whipping cream.
How much did you have?I'm so glad you are feeling much better and before you know it - you will be at goal. Just believe in yourself and that this works..... I've never had flax or the psylum - don't even know what that is. I'll do a search and let you know what I find. Why do you want to have that? |

Psyllium has 8 grams of carbs in 1 T. (It is a grain)
Flax - 6 grams in 2.5 T |

In Dr. A's book he says that neither psyllium nor flax act as a carb, but Im adding the flax and counting it anyway. I also cut our cheese yesterday. Im now ending week two, so its probably good to add in the veggies anyway. My carb count was 13 for the day which included veggies and salad stuff and no cheats. (with 5 grams of fiber). I guess I will see if I keep losing which I should. Any feedback is welcome! Bella aka Victoria

You are so funny - my picture on your refrig. Hey why not post it on the inside of the refrigerator....
Where in Wisconsin are you located? I use to live in Delafield in the '90's before moving to Florida. I lived right next door to the golf course on the west side of Pewaukee Lake.Your weight should start dropping more drastically this coming week...... Don't give up hope! |

and comments Cheryl. Tell me, what is the significance of Ixtapa? I thought perhaps your beautiful photos were taken there.... I was a teacher on cruises both in the Western and Eastern Caribbean- I did low carb while on it and only gained 3 pounds I agree about the cheese. Actually Im also cutting back on cream and using it only in my initial cup of coffee in the morning. If I have one later, Im drinking it black. Dont want to waste those precious carbs! Bella |

Could someone tell me the best way for me to get fibre and still stay low-carb? I know I need fibre because I am not regular... what about metamucil or benefibre?
