Saturday Morning

Good morning girls. I decided to take your advice and watch the drinks last night...I had none. Well..it's the day before Christmas Eve so time is winding down to get serious. I am going to Dallas to see family on Thursday so I will have to be extra watchful. There will be alot of eating out. I tell you..the challenges never stop. Hope you girls have a great day!

If you would have seen this house before we got it----yikes. And the guy was/is my friend so all the years of knowing him we'd always say, "gosh we love that house-so much potential!" NOW we have it and it is coming together, I love it!! Also good exercise, all that house cleaning!
Kate had already put the devil aside to set up the family room w/ a table and chairs for the company tonight, but I did a lot of ab work....incorporating stela in w/ it is a great idea, that girl is HEAVY! All 18.5 pounds of her. She liked it.

Is E doing yoga booty too????!? I bet that is a funny sight! But whatever works, you guys rock!
Well, I have to get Stela's room in order for the twins who are 3 and will want to play in there tonight....that is about the only use it will have gotten since we moved here in October...we cant forsee letting her sleep in her crib alone in that room, is that nuts?? She is about one step away from being too big in her bassinett....guess we'll get a pack and play next to the bed.....I dont know, what are your thoughts.

WHat are you hoping for from E or dont you guys exchange? There will be years in our future w/ kids when I am sure we dont...it gets to be too much.
Well, have a great weekend, I will def. check in again later!!!
Yeah, I convinced E to do the yoga booty too, and it is funny to see him, but I would never say that , I am just happy that he is willing to do it. And he is stoked in the areas of the body that it is working! Our butts are still sore. We did Hip Hop abs last night, he didn't enjoy it as much as the first one, but he liked the ab work. It uses a squishy ball. Jina, good job on doing abs with Stela, it is so fun to use babies as props, and they think is do funny!

It is great to fix a house. I love being able to make a house, your own. It is amazing how different things look with a little TLC!

Stela not sleeping in her own bed. You know it is a total personal choice. And a very touchy one in parenting boards. Here's what we did. With Maya, she was the first so, she too was in a bassinett next to our bed till she go too big, by her abilities not weight. As soon as she could sit up she was out of there, I was afraid she would fall out. But then she moved to our bed and slept there until what seems like a year, I was not happy, I just did not sleep well, but Efrain insisted. Finally I said enough, and we moved her crib into our room right next to the bed. She would go down fine, but then wake up and scream until we brought her into our bed. Finally around 2 she started to sleep in her crib in her room, mostly cause we moved, and I thought since everything else was changing it might as well include that too. But when we moved her to a twin bed just before 3, she would wake up and crawl into our bed (we still only had a double bed) When the twins were born, I stood firm that they would never sleep with us! They never did. We used a Pak n Play in our room until I was sure they would survive the night , about a month, then they both went to a shared crib in their room. And there they have slept ever since, now they are in a regular bed, and come crawl in bed with us sometimes, but the sleep situation is 300% better with them than with how Maya was. If I were going to have another baby myself, I would put the baby into his/her crib after about a week or two at home in a pac n plat my bed side. I sleep much better with a monitor turned all the way up in my ear than with a baby that keeps waking up and trying to get close to me. So that is the long and short of it and what I would do if there were a next time.

Okay, well off to make breakfast, will tally up my pounds. Back later!
Ashley

T- awsome job resisting drinks! not much longer to go, just keep it up!

Oh. gifts, we do exchange, but he usually is about asking me what I want and then we go buy it together. Same with gift from me too him. This year has been so busy we havn't really disussed it much. But, it is kinda more about the kids like you said, so I am good. :-) Ash

Sat. Evening...

7 PAGES?? Awesome, we are some gabbers...looks like a lot of views into what we're up to as well. Soon they will be all be drooling at our amazing progress to the 50 down by April.

Sadly, I am needing to have a very good Jan w/ weight loss to make up for lost time...I wanted to be in my 240's before Tday and that didn't happen...oh well, onward only!!!

252 down 50 but better be about 53 because I want it to read 199.....miss those ones!!! I have 52 pounds in 3 1/2 months....YIKES! Is that even doable? Maybe once I have lost 40 or so more, it will seem like 50 and I wont care! me at 200-210 is about a size 14-16 so I am more than happy w/ that! We'll see.

T-Good job!! That is one tough thing to do! I am proud of you!! Have fun in Dallas!!!!!!!
Ash-I will take the advice and not do the sleeping w/ us thing...from everyone I hear that has done it, including my Mom w/ my last 3 sisters----it has seemed to NEVER end getting them on their own. I am not about sharing a bed w/ my kid, sorry. I like my space and sleep and.....well, you know the rest!
Going to shower, family to arrive in an hour. Maybe I'll have a few pictures to show. Plan to eat the ham, vege tray and shrimp cocktail I made that looks amazing in these crystal goblets..I love giving parties! It also entails getting my new Chocolate fountain going, for the first time! (early xmas gift-kate) That will be hard to resist, but it I want to be hard to resist---I better stick to the celery sticks.
Night girls!

Chocolate fountain........Mmmmm

Can't wait to hear all about it tomarrow. Good choices on the ham and veggies and shrimp. Whenever I eat shrimp I feel so good, cause they are low carb/fat but so elegant and delicious. Feels like a splurge when it is not. Have fun! Hasta Maņana, Ash

Okay, I just updated my weight in FitDay. I officially have 35.2 pounds to lose until my goal date, 3/15/07. I have lost 17 pounds!!! Whoa, I hadn't actually sat down and added it up since I restarted. According to FitDay I am right on target, and have to lose exactly 3lbs/week to reach my goal. So if I am able to keep my losing at a steady rate, come April 1st, I should be about 153, which will be great, because the more pics I look at of people who've lost weight, the more I have thought about adjusting my goal to be 150, but for now I will stick to 160. Yahooooooo! Ash

Jina, so 53 pounds / 12.5 weeks = 4.25 pounds I think if you are diligent about working out and minus christmas tempts that is doable. But just in case, if you lose 3.5 pounds/week for the next 12.5 weeks that will still put you at about 208, a very respectable number! So, yes you can do this, and how you drop numbers when you are really strict like the first couple of weigh ins, that will really help in dropping the # of lbs /week you will have to lose!! You go girl!!

Merry Christmas Eve to you two!!!!

Good Morning! Hope you both are starting off a nice holiday, I am getting up and around....so much to do and get done...STILL! I have the sweetest little tootsie sitting on my lap-so how this gets executed...we'll find out..she is starting to like the keyboard.
So far Christmas has been wonderful. Even w/ my weight loss (which is pretty significant considering the baby I JUST HAD) noone notices, or if they do ---they don't say. That can be a little disheartening. BUT- having Katie who is literally 1/2 her body weight, I am always the after thought. It's ok....I cant wait til I have a big chuck off and people really go (((WOW)))!!!
I didn't do that bad last night, but by no means did I leave that chocolate fountain untouched....it was awesome! Love dipping cherries (jar) in it! YUMM and sooo off plan. Tonight we have Kates gmas, that entails panini's and lazagna. (SP? that doesnt look right!) I am hoping to fill way up on water and have smaller portions.
I am concerned about the amnt. of weight to lose in that little amount of time, but I guess I have already lost, 9 pounds...so I should really count that in my 50 pounds goal...right? We'll see. I am 100% gung-ho it will happen. I am very excited to get these damn temptations away.
OK, will get the day started. Merry Christmas girls,
T-hope you have fun in Dallas.
I am so thankful for us finding eachother you two!

lasagna? That looks better! I used to be the spelling bee CHAMP of the universe but now....not so much, isn't that weird?

Anyway---Love the post Ash, I feel the same. You are a true inspiration. I know you will reach that 153 goal, in fact - I can see you going way beyond it, your determination is fierce!!!!!!!! Send some my way, will ya?
I have been saying it for years, I am just too damn cute to be this fat....I hope I can use that to keep me going.....

bye! Enjoy yourself this holiday!!

Merry Christmas Eve!! Had lots of fun this morning. Went to eat at the restaurant E and I met at. Caught up with all the people from there. I ate way too much food, I felt full after half my plate but I kept going, oh well. I am going to be well behaved for the rest of the day. The good thing, I kept it low carb. I got a skillet meal no taters add mushrooms, and egg beaters instead of real ones. 1 big lonesome bite of pancake. That said, I added it all up and just that meal was worth like 750 cals, WOW!! And to think I used to shovel that all down mas the papas and plus the 3 pancakes that it is served with! Disgusting!

J, today I felt like the second wheele too, but thats okay, I know we'll knock 'em out later. Everybody noticed E was down lbs. I am so proud of him that it is alright, probably how you feel about Katie too huh!

Sounds like good food tonight for Katie's fam, water sounds like a good plan. I got a bag of shrimp to make cocktails tonight, since you said you made them, they have sounded delicious, so I am copying you! Thanx for the idea!

T-All packed up for your trip to Dallas? Hope you have lots of fun! Maybe you could throw some sun this way? :-D

Jina, I am sending you some happy diet vibes right now!! Hey yeah, and you SHOULD count those 9 pounds you have already lost! So you only have 41 pounds to go to get your 50. Doesn't that Sound Great!!

Happy Ashley

last time checking in...

You guys..you would be really proud of me. Today I've passed up so many opportunities to eat badly. Instead..for bfast I chose a 1/2 cup nonfat yogurt with almonds and Lunch (wanted fries w/ranch dressing) but I ate grilled chicken and broccoli and had 1 beer (the 1 beer was hard) Anyway, we took the kids 16, 14, 12 miniature golfing down the street. It is 79 here today and so beautiful. We just got back. Now I will jump in the shower and when I get out..it's awesome bottle of red wine time I hope you guys are having a great Christmas Eve....hey..may I ask how old you guys are? I'm 40..41 in March.

later alligators

Miniture Golf sounds like fun. Is it a family tradition? And good job on passing up the opps for bad eats. It is hard when it feels like we should this time of the year.

We missed our fam tradish this year. We always go to see Zoo Lights. Our zoo opens at night and runs the train where you can see all sorts of lighted animal shapes throughout. We missed the free day and have been to the zoo during the day so many times this past month(members), it just never seemed like the right day.

I am 26, and a half the 26th...........I know, I am a little old to count halfs, but since you asked so close to my "half-birthday," just thought I'd through that in there. Ash

I'm just waking after a long nap. Can you believe my (not little) kids got me up at 3am?? Of course I didn't let them open anything until at least 6. Anyway, after I made breakfast at 7 for everyone..I just went to the couch and crashed! Gotta get ready to go to moms but I wanted to say hello real quick..and Ash..no min. golf is not a family tradition..we just decided to go on a whim. Hope to see you guys bright and early tomorrow for a new week of committment

Merry Christmas girls!

Happy Christmas!! I am so happy for your resistance T!! Awesome. You are sooo lucky w/ the great weather even though upper 40's here isn't so bad this time of year. If it isn't 70 + I just assume it snow, which it only has once this year.....after Xmas I start getting ready for Spring.
I am so ready to take down the xmas stuff around here, I get freaky about it. Ready to clean and start a fresh new year. I cant believe your kids were up at 3am that is hilarious! It was a long weekend and a busy, tiring one as well. So many places, people, parties and great fun and FOOD! Today I didn't resist anything starting w/ doughnuts and coffee, w/ non-fat creamer (flavored) and all. BIG Xmas dinner followed by pie and lots of pop....it was an early dinner, then chinese food. I am seriously ill. And I deserve to feel that way but sometimes I even get on my own nerves w/ the "dieting" S*it! I needed a break, got it out of my system and will hope for a loss come Friday. I plan to weight. Under the 250 mark for the new year would give me great confidence, I will be very satisfied / my progress this month. You have to remember how I usually screw off this entire month, and I mean NO HOLDS BARRED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So, after tonight-down to business.
I had the nicest Christmas. Stela got her first tooth broke through yesterday and she is still the sweetest happiest baby, despite that! Way too many great gift...as usual. It was a lot of fun!! Did I mention tiring?!??!?!?!
Having a new years eve party next weekend...more a gathering, w/ food, drinks and games.....w/ our usual crowd. Looking forward to it. Thinking more shrimp cocktail, it has been my new obsession, I knew it would rub off Ash! Sounds like good choices at the restaurant and I bet you are busy enjoying Lexi, Luke and Maya today. Fun ages!!!!
I will go now, just stopped in to see how you two were and upload some pictures....talk soon,

Merry Christmas

MERRY CHRISTMAS GIRLS!!

Yep today was as close as I have come to no holds barred day! We didn't even eat until 2 pm, OMGosh! Kids weren't even complaining. They we all too happy about their bikes, fancy new bikes for eack with helmets. We too went and had Chinese. I did resist the kung Pao, and had my Pho with broc not noodles, but on top of that I had some salt n pepper fried squid. Then we came home and had some christmas candies and a few chips. Dinner, a huge shrimp cocktail with spicy cocktail sauce. Mmmm hmmm! Although today has been the biggest splurge day since starting a reformed WOE, I figure that is what my WOE will be about when I reach maint stage. Pick and choose the days/times for splurges, not everyday, my old self. So by in large, this has still been a well behaved XMas day! Good job girls! We rock! A hope to still lose this week but am not counting on a big number, 1 or 2 pounds. I too am ready to really blast the fat now that today is behind me! Talk to ya soon, hugs to all of you and your families! Ashley

Tuesday morning..

Good morning! I must say it's going to be difficult to get serious again since I've been messing around the last 2 weeks. It's more psychological with me. It's more like when I can have it..I don't care so this week will be difficult. I leave on Thurs so I will workout every morning at the hotel gym. Today will be hard so wish me luck.

Morning

I am alone at work-the phone is going crazy these patients are acting NUTS! It's like, if you know you only have one pill left on Sat. you should prob. ask for a refill on FRIDAY before a holiday. UGH! Anyway-
Felt like crap and slept like crap last night, prob. from the eating so crazily. I feel sorry for my blood sugars...all my blood chemistries, can you imagine how freaky they get wondering what I am doing from day to day?!
I am doing great today though, so freakin tired. I have had string cheese, one coffee w/ 1 sweet/low and shaved turkey meat. Hope to keep it real low on the carbs today.

So much to do, need to get going. Hope you are well. T-hang in there, it will come together soon...now that we are rounding up this year and getting ready for January when the entire world is on a diet, our WOE will come together better....at least that is what I am telling myself.
Ash- sounds like you are really mastering "MODERATION" and isn't that the key to EVERYTHING!?!?
Talk soon,

Hey! T that is a great picture. You look very different than I had pictured, which is nothing new--I always get a vision and it's nothing like what I had imagined.
Very pretty. So helpful to put a face to the posts!
