May for LFL!
Just starting a new one for this month..
Hope everyone will be successful in losing or maintaining. we are trying hard to stick with measuring and weighing.. our major downfall.. LOL@ Eating all the right food.. but to much! hahahah Tonight we are having another dinner challenge! Pot luck at friends house.. Pork chops and beans.. I made the beans.. pork chops are supposed to be the pre-cooked types.. and than I am making a tossed salad. with balsamic vinaigrette. So that will work for me... And the beans I made are just reg pinto beans.. no fat in that. desert will be mixed fruits.. yummy.. and I made an amish bread.. with splenda.. and almond flour.. still dangerous.. and not excactly on plan. I will stick with the fresh fruit on my plate Also wanted to mention that I bought at Sam's "Fruit Naturals" Hawaiian style and it is very good.. I figure an easy way to get my daily citrus in. |

bonehenge, thanks for the reply on the April thread!
I am nervous to add grain/fruit...after being in 'atkins' like mode here for a few days... do many of you stay in ketosis? or does it matter? Can you do this without adding grains, but everything else? and add grains closer to goal? Happy friday, everyone ![]() |

and I gained right away a few pounds.. but than lost about 10 on WW.. got to comfy with all the food choices and ready to eat, prepackaged food.. specially the deserts and xtras.. LOL! it was just to easy to grab the muffin or Ice cream bar... because it said WW on it! LOL! so.. I found that LFL is not as restrictive as Atkins.. but.. it does not give me that many choices like WW... if you eat the LFL plan you can enjoy a little bit of everything.. just try to stay clear of the pre-packed food and stick with the whole foods.. and the basic foods and you will be just fine. I found eating the same stuff for breakfast, and snacks.. every day helps.. there a no choices to worry about. For breakfast I have low fat cottage cheese and berries. almost every day.. except the weekends sometimes I have cereal for breakfast.. my grain and my protein (milk) snack is always a yogurt or protein shake. I have my salad (lettuce and tomato) every day for lunch and dinner. with balsamic vinaigrette dressing; I have a citrus for desert at least once a day.. I only have a late night snack if I have to have one.. and than I have like an atkins cookie bar... crunchy chocolate is my favorite.. and I cut it into itsy bitsy little bite size pieces! LOL! So.. that is basically my daily routine.. I have a simple protein for dinner and lunch.. pick from the list and a little bit of veggies.. pick from the list. |

Hi there.
Just dropping by, I use to do lfl way back a few years ago. I started this week doing lc again but the basic format I am using is from lfl allowing a grain/fruit a day. I've lost 6 lbs since monday. |

Okay, so I'm back, I am seriously now up to the highest weight that I've ever been in my life - yikes! It's time....I'm soo ready to do something, I just keep skipping around and not committing to anything. I did LFL in Oct and lost 15 pounds in the first 2 weeks, and then got a lil sloppy and didn't lose any more and so I kept the basic format, but gained a few, lost a few - and then Thanksgiving and Christmas hit and I've been eating pretty much ever since! Sooo, today I'm back.....I just can't keep gaining weight - I just turned 30 last Monday and I weigh 213 as of this morning. I will incorporate a LOT of exercise into my plan and then I'll find what it is that's comfy. I'm thinking that since my job is so sedentary that I'll get a foot bike for at work so I'm getting some sort of movement during the day! I don't have one yet and will most likely have to wait til the 15th to get one, but that is definitely something I'm contemplating!
Today's Menu (protein day 1) B - 2 slices FF cheese S - 1 slice of ham L - tuna fish S - 2 slices FF cheese D - turkey tenderloin S - Ham/cheese roll up Exercise 11- WATP 3 mile walk 2 - 1 mile walk outside 8:30 - Jillian Michaels SHRED DVD I'm home with my son today, so this is possible - I might not make the whole thing, but this is my goal - we shall see. Bonehenge, you are doing so well! You're zeroing in on your goal pretty quickly now Beautiful baby you've got there!! Congrats!Smile Darlah |

good morning to you all and happy Monday.
Glad to see you back and ready to start again... I will turn 50 in July and I have been up and down all my life.. for a while there.. between my 30 and 40's I basically had giving up losing weight all together.. But well.. life is to short.. and I decided I certainly was not trying to make it even shorter! LOL! so. we have done well on the LFL program. Everyones in a while we get off the program... eat off program.. enjoy it.. but don't get overboard.. and stop the program.. we just adjust it a little.. and than get right back with it. I never start OVER.... I just start back where I was... So I good luck and best wishes to you. ... hope you will have wonderful success... with the LFL program. We did pretty good this weekend. actually back down to 169lbs.. again.. been there a few weeks ago.. before going out to Red Lobster and a few other places! LOL! |

You've lost significant amounts of weight. Yay! Your body's adapting, adjusting to the new weight, it's enjoying itself! Livin' it up, it's thin, it feels like you're where it wants to be. Our bodies adapt really well. Take exercise as a prime example. Let's say right now you decide ok, I'm going to do 50 situps. So you do as many as you can, boom boom boom. You may not get to 50 situps, but that's fine. Now the rest of the day you're sore. Gee, I wonder why, you're not used to it. OK, do the same thing every day for a week. In a week, will the same amount of situps be easier? Of course. You adapted. Will it help you to do the same amount? Yes, for overall health, but for gains in terms of burning calories and weight loss? Nope. You gotta do more, to get to where you were sore before, you need to do them faster, or do more of them. Your body's adapted to the new thing. So how do you change it up enough? Good question. I've been there for a while now. You might need to focus REALLY close on what you eat. Don't vary from the program at all. You might need to change up your carb to protein ratio, the types of carbs you're eating when you eat them, the types of proteins you get. You might need to eat 50g of carbs a day instead of 30g, or you might need to eat 80g instead of 50g. Your body needs enough of a change to kick back into weight loss mode. The last bit of weight you have left after a significant loss is the most difficult to lose. Hang in there. Greg

Good Morning!
Okay, so yesterday was not perfect by any means, but I did manage to lose a quick 3 pounds, so I'll take it (well almost 2.8). Today, I'm going to work a bit harder to not cheat and try and get into ketosis. I had ice cream yesterday which is not anywhere near the program, BUT I must say that I ate cleaner than I have in a LONG time yesterday!! So that's a victory and I'm going to move from here! I hope everyone is doing well. Smile Darlah Start - 213.2 Day 1 - 210.4 Goal - 130 |

woooo hooo ![]() chaos and I did it! The Humane Society of San Bernardino Valley's Walk for the Animals was today and Chaos and I walked 10 laps around the ballpark and was the last walkers on the track!Very emotional day Heather Froglear w/KFROG (a radio station in our area) has known me and my babies (Chaos and Roadway) since the boys were puppies; I had to tell her that Roadway passed away shortly after last years walk... but that Chaos and I were walking in his memory today. She dedicated the walk to Roadway... yep, I . They also have blessing of the animals before the walk; the rabbi was kind enough to do individual blessings, Chaos and I did a prayer for our beloved Roadway... yep more tears . BUT... we did it! WE walked and walked and out walked everyone! Heather Froglear didn't recognize me and I got lots of congrats! Great day! oh, and I was down a 1.4 lbs this morning... so far plateau menu is doing what its suppose to. I did step up the exercise last night w/Chaos. We walked our hilly walk and then walked fast/jogged/sprinted.... jogged/walked fast. Today's walk was a breeze! ![]() |

Just wanted to jump in and say hello to everyone...
I have not been GOOD!!!! LOL! and off the program Specially last night was HORRIBLE We had to attend a dog club meeting.. I did not partically care for anyway... and I did not care for the restaurant.. because usually the food SUCKS!!! argh. So... got there with a bad attitude already.. and the first thing on the menu I see is fried calamari... so DH and I ordered that as an appetizer... so that was the first strike... and well.. they where fried.. something... could hardly taste the calamari.. ![]() than.. I decided to have beef fajitas.. totally tastless... and no flavor.. should have just had a steak... .. so I had that.. with two flour tortillas.. and than.. than they bring the fresh rolls.. and someone on the table said they are the best.. so.. of course by than... I was already not happy about the food.. the meeting.. what I had eaten... so.. I had two rolls... and they where good... I would have been happy with just those two rolls.. and not eaten the other stuff! So.. it was a bad night.. . Today.. we are going to do more or less a protein day... I had cottage cheese with berries... and snack yogurt, lunch I will just have a protein shake... Dinner chicken breast.. and snack in between.. something light and low fat.. thats for sure... so between the munchies resulting from TOM>. and last night.. I am back at 170lbs! ARGH!!! oh yes.. and on top of all .. I have not been working out all week. Hopefully by monday I can go back and put my energy into working out and getting to feel better.. NONE of my cloth fit me any more either... I have some nice outfits I NEVER worn once.. when I bought them last year. .they where to tight.. and this year. .they are way to big. I will try to sell them.. and maybe get some of my money back that way. so.. .enough of this rambling... I am going to sit back and think positive and happy thoughts now! LOL! Hope you all are doing better than I! hugs... |

Hi
Tried LFL a while back and did good, but ate too much of legal. Going to try again. Is milk allowed on your first three days of Protein only? Or lf cottage cheese? Thanks. Then I read in the book (Ya, I got the book) to eat 50 to 100 grams in carbs. Is that even on the first three protein days? TIA. |

hello everyone,... sorry.. been absent for a while... from the board.. and the program...
Lots of stuff going on here ...and I am trying to stay busy and get things done... and let my guards down... LOL! back to 170lbs! aRGH!!!! So today.. its monday.. again.. and a new protein day for us.. This time I put the food list back on the fridge.. and I pulled out the list to write down what I eat.. etc.. To much snacking been going on around here... and I try to stick with the plan... so soo.. but well.. the result is nO weight loss.. Going to start using fitday.com for keeping track of my carb intake.. and fat intake.. I need to stay between 50-60g a day to lose weight. and I am getting ready to hit the gym again... in a few min... too all last week off.. one excuse after another... So... energized and ready to go... Sheila, I would say for protein days.. just stick to the list of proteins.. and weigh and measure.. and eat about 6 servings... I don't mind protein days anymore.. gotten used to it. |
