WOE: Atkins (or trying anyway!)
UPDATED MENU (the veggie police should be very happy to hear about this ) :

Breakfast: Cup of coffee with cream and Splenda
Snack: Slice of cheese
Mistake #1: 4 flakes of a frosted cereal and 1 freeze-dried strawberry slice
Lunch: Broccoli omelet
Snack: 2 cups of coffee with cream and Splenda, topped with cinnamon and whipped cream
Snack: sugarless jello with whipped cream
Dinner: grilled chicken breast with dried spices, more broccoli and some summer squash
Snack: salad with ranch dressing
Snack: another sugarless jello with whipped cream
Mistake #2: 1 bite of sugarless ice cream (1 net carb worth)
Mistake #3: 2 teaspoons of peanut butter

Aw man..... It's that TOM and I am craving sweet things like CRAZY!!!!! Can you tell?!!?!? GEEZE, what do I do???? I want that damn ice cream so bad, but I stopped meself after 1 bite. The peanut butter made me feel like it was clogging me throat, so I don't think I'll be tempted with that for the rest of the night. I have no sugarless jello left, if I have another cup of coffee today, I'm not going to sleep tonight, and I have no sugarless sweets either!!!! I've waaaaaaaaaaay overdone it with the sugarless substitutes and cream/dairy today, but I am actually pretty okay with meself considering I could have done worse. And even me mistakes..... I'm not calling them cheats....... were tiny enough where I'm not going to bother beating meself up over it.

I have an Atkins shake, but I don't want to have that because last time it knocked me out of the ketosis. Ugh! Any ideas?! I'm out of almonds too, or else I'd make that almond/butter/splenda/cinnamon concoction. I'm just going to pace meself and think this over rationally -- not do anything stupid like going off on a binge (which I've done in the past)....... Wish me luck......

SF jello with whipped cream (make your own, no carbs)

Here's my mess for a sugar fix... Whipped cream, (whipped) add in about 1 TBS cocoa powder, and splenda to taste... Mix all together... YUM!

And I'm loving coconut bark.. (Lisa doesn't like it, but it's one way to get my coconut oil every day)

4 TBS Coconut oil
1 TBS cocoa powder
1/4 tsp Splenda
a few nuts of whatever choice

Melt CO in nuker, add splenda and cocoa, nuts, and put in plastic wrap lined dish, freeze for 10 minutes... Eat!

Don't eat a double batch though, like a did a couple weeks..

Half cup of plain yogurt, with a TBS of SF flavoring (your fav)

3 MINUTE CHOCOLATE CAKE
1/4 cup almond flour, 1 ounce
1 tablespoon cocoa
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
3 tablespoons plus 1 teaspoon granulated Splenda or equivalent liquid Splenda
2 tablespoons butter, melted
1 tablespoon water
1 egg

Mix the almond flour, cocoa, baking powder and granulated Splenda, if using, in a 2-cup glass measuring cup. Stir in the liquid Splenda, if using, butter, water and egg. Mix well with a spoon or fork. Scrape batter down evenly with a rubber spatula. Cover with plastic wrap * and vent by cutting a small slit in center. Microwave on HIGH 1 minute until set but still a little moist on top. I had to do mine for 1 minute 20 seconds. Cool slightly and serve warm topped with whipped cream or cool completely and frost as desired.

MERINGUE SURPRISES
2 egg whites
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/8 teaspoon salt *
1/2 cup granular Splenda or equivalent liquid Splenda

Beat all of the ingredients until fluffy, but not quite stiff. Drop by spoonfuls onto a parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake at 300º about 40 minutes, until crisp and dry.

CHEESECAKE SQUARES
12 ounces cream cheese, softened
3 eggs
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/2-3/4 cup Da Vinci sugar free syrup, vanilla flavor
1 teaspoon vanilla

Beat the cream cheese until fluffy. Beat in the eggs, then the remaining ingredients until well blended. Pour into a buttered 8x8" baking pan. Bake 350º 50-60 minutes until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean and the cheesecake is golden brown on top. Cool completely before cutting; chill well before serving.

NO-BAKE CHEESECAKE
1 envelope unflavored gelatin
1/4 cup cold water
1/4 cup cold water
16 ounces cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup granulated Splenda or equivalent liquid Splenda
1/8 teaspoon vanilla
1 tablespoon lemon rind, you'll need 2 small lemons
1 cup heavy cream, whipped

Sprinkle the gelatin over 1/4 cup cold water. Let stand 2 minutes. Microwave on HIGH 40 seconds; stir and let stand 2 minutes until dissolved. Stir in 1/4 cup water. Beat the cream cheese, Splenda, vanilla and lemon rind until smooth. Gradually beat in the gelatin. Chill until slightly thickened, about 20 minutes. Fold in the whipped cream. Pour into a large pie plate; chill until firm

DEXMIS'S PUMPKIN CUSTARD
15 ounce can pumpkin
1/2 cup granulated Splenda or equivalent liquid Splenda
1 tablespoon Brown Sugar Twin, optional
2 eggs
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup water
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1/8 teaspoon ginger
1 cup heavy cream, whipped, optional

Combine in a large bowl in order given; beat well. Pour into a large, buttered pie plate. Bake 350º, 45-55 minutes until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean. Chill before serving. Serve with whipped cream, if desired.

That should hold ya off for a bit!

Contribution for todayyy!!!

Motivation tips!

* Set your goals and work out a realistic timescale for achieving them. Commit to them 100%.
* Put it in writing! Scribble down in as much detail as possible why you need to lose weight, how much you are going to lose, when and how. The more you commit to paper the better. Carry a notebook around with you and use it to record thoughts and ideas, recipes, quotes - whatever will inspire you and keep you going.
* Tell a friend or member of the family and ask them to help you stick with your plan.
* Remember that you are losing weight and improving your health "one day at a time". You can stick at anything for one day!
* Don't dwell on the junk that you are taking out of your diet. Instead, celebrate the healthy foods that you are putting in.
* Turn the tables on how you think about food by looking at what you are REALLY achieving when you overeat.
* Make bullet points of your main motivational issues and write them on a stack of cards. Display the cards where you will see them regularly - on your bathroom mirror, in your purse, in your car.
* Create a "mantra" to repeat to yourself when times get hard. For example, "Every day I am improving my health, my looks and my well-being. I am getting stronger in every way."
* Consider asking for sponsorship from friends and family for a good cause. Perhaps you can raise money for starving children while you get your own eating under control?
* Start a file or scrapbook of articles, recipes and any other interesting titbits you read.
* Start another file of fashion and wardrobe ideas. Plan what you will need to buy when you shrink a size or two!
* Buy a piggybank and fill it up with a particular sum for every pound you lose. You can use it towards your new outfits!
* Find someone to share the experience with, and laugh your way through the tough times.
* Learn from other successful slimmers. Read other people's stories, join a club, find a chat room, or start your own email group.

I have a question too.. how do you keep yourself motivated??

One of the things I'm doing is putting a pound in a jar for every pound I lose at the scale, then when I wanna eat CEREAL, or go out with my friends and get drunk I look at it and remind myself how far I've come rather than focusing on how far I have left to go all the time. When I reach my first goal of 170 I'm gonna go and buy myself a new top with the money .

Thank you SO much! I am going shopping tomorrow to get the ingredients for those things... they all sound Induction-friendly too!

As for tonight, I've heard in the past that when you're craving something (like sweets), that you should absolutely 100% not eat anything sweet... low carb or not. I've never tried it before because I thought that I'd end up eating whatever and then something sweet anyway. BUT, I tried it tonight; and it worked! I ate ANOTHER broccoli omelet with lots of butter and olive oil. Cravings gone!

Good night all! Will chat tomorrow!

Loved the tips! Thanks for sharing!

Your idea for motivation is an excellent one! Wish I would have thought of that when I started LC'ing...
I'm using a pair of skinny jeans that hang over my bedroom door, so I see them at least twice every day.... When I get into those comfortably, then I quit, and on to maintenance, regardless of what my weight is at the time...

Good morning! Just a quickie before the day gets too busy.

M1: turkey and a pumpkin muffin
M2: salad w/turkey, cheese, bell peppers and sb dressing, pb cheesecake muffin
M3: atkins shake
M4: hamburger, cottage cheese, green bean casserole and sf creamsicle

So I tried on the jeans that have been too snug the last couple of weeks, and although they are looser, they still don't fit the way they did...sigh....who would have thought that a few pounds would make such a difference! I use to be able to lose or gain 10-20 lbs and it made no difference. Now I realize that I'm much smaller, but 3 lbs? Well, it's a good reminder of why sugar is a big bad evil thing for me!

Oh yeah--and I'm going to be surrounded by tons of tempting food today. That never used to bother me, but lately I have been soooo weak! If you have a moment, say a little prayer for me!!

I love the idea of putting money in a jar. I'm gonna have to start that, do I have to take it back out though when my weight bounces. Mine bounces around the same few pounds then lowers little by little.

The jeans are getting looser! Woo hoo. Nothing better than that!

Good morning me skinnies............

first off .....Teresa block your eyes for the next few lines.......................

I am loving Ketosis......I was cleaning house up until 10.30pm...then got on the phone for a long distance call with one of my girfriends in Florida...got off the phone at 12.15am....then stared folding and packing away clothes.......it gets better.......tided up the living room, washed dishes, swept the whole house ...AND the grand finale.....went on the elliptical at 2am

Of course now I feel like crap bacaue I had to get up at 5am to prepare breakfast for DH & DD.....also i did not spend that long on the Evil E...but MAN am I sore this morning....a good sore though

Only Ketosis changes me into Wonder Woman.....oh And I am down another pound......I only checked to see if the exercising would have stalled me in the interim, so it was a pleasant surprise .....1lb more to go to get back to siggy and then ADIOS 270's FOR GOOD

yesterday

B - 2 eggs (and 2 yolks left over from my almond thins)WITH 6 slices salami
S- peppermint tea with cream and splenda
L - Splenda Jello with cream (yummo)
S - koolaid
D - fish with onions, peppers & BBQ, SALAD and nut crackers
S- koolaid & water Water water

1057cal 48g

Alisa....hope today is less busy and tiring...Happy Friday

Teresa...ya know I had a friend who sucessfully Lcarbed and had a sweet tooth.. she lost 100lbs .......and here is how she did it......Every couple of months or so when her Sugar Demon whould rear its ugly head, she would hit the LC sugar free treat lanes and gorge on SF jelly beans, chocolate....the works....then next few hours when the sugar alcohols would take effect....she would SWEAR never again.......until the next few months when she forgot how bad she felt the last time

So the moral of the story....if you want some sweet stuff....don't deprive yourself......have some.... but make it LOW CARB sweet stuff and face the consequences...unlike my friend..your churning stomach may SHOCK you into reality...and you won't want anymore....so no more Kisses OKbuttkick.gif.......you are stepping on dangerous ground awaking those cravings.....come on... you are too close to goal now to start unraveling.......So go buy something so that you wont be tempted by all the goodies in the office today OK

On another note.....remember you are swelling and retaining fluid, so that is most probably why your jeans are snug....I am sure once that bloat subsides you will have to be buying a smaller pair of jeans....have you checked out you doctor yet to find out how long is the water retention going to last?

Lei...Hey that is my sugar fix concoction too...actually it is my chocolate fix

As for Coconut Bark.....that is all

OK...I am going to find something that is tight in my cupboard...that won't be hard.......and use it as my motivation "GET INTO" incentive.....Great Idea

Anna
....great job on winning the battle with the craving monster.....you will find it gets easier each time you hold strong

Hey Missy...you still have not told us if your name is really Missy....someone pass her the ginko
