I would use you lunch menu for breakfast and have your RM at either lunch or dinner and for your RM, have WHATEVER you want, this is to satisfy yourself with your meals and balance your blood sugars, so your not hungry!! I'm real sure your gonna love this plan, but please give it two weeks try, before deciding. I'm like you, I'd rather do things by myself, thats why I love this board....they ask nothing from you that you don't want to do!!! We are allowed to do whatever we want to try, just because everyone is different and sometimes it takes tweaks to any diet to make it fit that person. Good luck hun and stick with us.....you won't be sorry!!!
Thank you so much!

Hi Lora and welcome! Cindy is right about everything.. especially the part about how we don't ask anything from you that you don't want to do. We won't make you feel bad if you stumble because we all do it! Heck I spent enough time last year feeling like a failure because I couldn't survive on 400 calories a day and laxatives.. but I found my way here and it's been wonderful. I hope you learn from what you read in the posts before you joined us, and have fun here! That's what it's all about.

Patty and Judy, you girls are rockin'... go go go go go go go!!!

Patty, I just have never understood people who are able to control themselves and are able to just stop eating when they're not hungry anymore. That is so foreign to me. I'm sorry that your Henry is giving you such a hard time hun! And I understand your frustration. And btw.. congratulations... 43 years is amazing and I think that's wonderful!!

Off to work; y'all have a great day.

Thanks for the cheerleading, Dana. This will take me right through another on target day Hope it's a good one for you and everyone here. Lora, Cindy is right about the rice when it's not an Reward meal. You had a good day though and keep listening to these helpful folks that have had success.

Dana I'm over it now, Darling. He was so sweet to me yesterday afterward. He knew he shouldn't have said that. He was trying to make up for it. I reaped what I sowed because I didn't lash out at him. Oh, and he said this morning, I just don't know what I am going to do. I don't eat much, I am very active, and I still weigh the same. He is wanting to take off a couple of pounds. I just said, I don't know what to tell you, Baby, and I am very glad that I didn't bite back yesterday.

Hi all!

Welcome, Lora, and I hope you find a plan that works for you! The support here is awesome, so feel free to post with us!

The scale has dropped again for me -- 207.5! I believe I'm seeing more results because of my increased exercise -- yard work, weeding, more walking and just being outside enjoying Spring! My RM for last night was: chicken parmesan, a bite of baked rotinis, cold broccoli (dressed with vinegar/oil), an apple, and a milk shake. Oh, I also had 2 sugar-free chocolates.

It's raining today, so I have a lot of house projects planned for today. I want to get my housework done before the weekend, so I can be outside (it's supposed to be nice on Saturday, iffy on Sunday).

Well, I'm hungry, so I'm going to get something to eat before starting my work. I'll check back in later. Stay on your plans, friends!

Tink, I agree with you! I see-saw many times, but I know it's part of nature and this woe, so don't let the scale dictate your mood (not that you are, but just know you are following the plan, and the weight will take care of itself).

Congratulations, MommaPatty and Flower!! Keep up the good work!!

Ugh - I seem to have lost a long message that I typed with smileys and colors! Oh well - maybe it will show up - I'm sure I hit submit, but don't see it here I even changed my signature and checked it, so not sure what happened...

Basically I congratulated ALL of our losers, welcomed Lora and wished everyone a great day!

I'm down 1.5lbs from yesterday which brings me .5 below my lowest so far on CAD to 154! yay!

More later - have to get ready for work now!

Good morning,

Patty, it is nice to hear you have decided to get back on CAD. You have been and will continue to be successful since we know it does work for you. In a few days the scale is not going to go in your favor, that is just part of this WOE. In my short time here I have noticed that when it happens you are eager to change to one meal a day or try something else. May I suggest you stick to CAD without making any changes over a two week period and see how it goes for you.

Dressagelover, I hope you are feeling better. It is so hard to be sick at the same time as your family because they are dependent on you to take care of them instead of you being able to care for you.

Lora, welcome! Read the book and if you are truly a "carbohydrate addict" then this plan is probably for you. I believe in this WOE since it works so well for me. I follow CALP and try to do everything by the book except weigh myself on a daily basis. I haven't stepped on a scale for the last couple of years until recently. Since I have been doing so well on plan, my curiosity got the best of me. I find it too difficult for my mental state to step on the scale every day because I am too weak to handle the ups & downs. Please join us since there are some very successful and wonderful people on this board that are more than willing to provide you with the friendship and support you may need.

Judy, I was so desperate not long ago that I was tempted to try one of those programs that provides all the food for me. My DD#2, 19, purchased the Nutrisystem program and was able to eat it for the first couple of weeks. I believe she got six weeks worth of food and the other four weeks of food is still sitting in the box that it came in. I am so happy I chose to begin a WOE that I know works for me instead of wasting my money and have it sitting in a box.

Tink, you are doing so well. It is great that you were able to go "deal" shopping. Are the new pair of size 12 jeans a smaller size than what you have been wearing?

Lora, I honestly believe that the hardest part is getting started on any plan. If you find the right plan that works for you then it is not too hard to stick with it. The reason I failed on this plan the first time I tried it was because I was in too much of a hurry to get the weight off and switched to another plan I could not live with. I knew at the time that CALP was a perfect fit for me because I found it too easy to continue on a daily basis.

Patty, I just read your post about Henry bawling you out. Since I said something similar to what he said in my first response to you, it was not meant to hurt you. The only reason I said anything at all is because this is a support group and I share Henry's pain in feeling your frustration.

mikeysmommy, I am sorry you haven't received your CALP book yet, hopefully soon. I hope your DVD helps you to overcome your desire for artificial sweeteners.

flower, apparently weight watchers is working out pretty well for you. KUTGW!

Stephanie, when it comes to the scale it is not a matter of...if...in your case but...when. Allow me to pat your back and tell you again what an inspiration you are to me. I am sorry it is raining today but at least it allows you to get some things done around the house.

Tink, sorry to hear about you losing your fancy message. It is great to see that you are continuing to join these "bunch of losers" and are continuing to get closer to your NY goal.

I completed all 3 miles yesterday on WATP. If I would have known the last mile was more of a cool down, I might have attempted it sooner. Tonight is Bowflex but I may be doing it by myself. At least DH is willing to help me change the positions on the machine, so I can get it done.

DH woke up yesterday thinking he had food poisoning. He checked with his co-workers to see if any of them had any symptoms and they are all fine. It is possible that he has the flu and if he is not feeling any better today, I will be taking him to the doctor.

My visit with my grandma went well. She is not feeling well due to a bladder infection and it is making her back ache. Hopefully she will be better by Mother's Day.

I allowed my son to eat the pork chop I had cooked and ready to take with me since I knew I could cook a couple at my folks house. I remembered to take them with me and also had a half can of green beans that I prepared with vinaigrette. It is amazing how much easier it is to not come home starving when I plan ahead.

I stopped at the store on my way home last night to get dinner for the kids and I. It was 7:00 pm when I got to the store so I chose to get something that wouldn't take too long to prepare or cook. The butcher shop usually has chicken fajitas that are all ready to be stir fried so that is what I picked up. I grabbed some flour tortillas and made it home by 7:30.

My menu for yesterday included:

CM: 2 cups of coffee

CM: Pork chop & green beans w/vinaigrette

RM: Salad w/ranch, chicken fajitas w/bell peppers, onions, guacamole, & cheese on a flour tortilla

I took my Chromium and drank my water.

Have a wonderful day!

Good morning all......

I'm at work so I'll be in and out. It's fun to be back to work!

You girls are just smoking HOT!!! Lots of losses this week, good for you! I think the seasons have alot to do with losses too, like winter, I lose slower than summer. I also checked out something else which was amazing to me, I took the cad test again a few months ago and passed with flying colors, so I'm not addicted anymore as long as I stay on the plan, and when I first took the test 2 years ago, I hit the highest on the scale, I think I was 2 points lower than the highest one. So that tells me that this plan works!!!

I have to eat what they are having today, so I don't know what that is yet, but I made blackberry bars last night and can't wait to try them out. I had to use the store bought frozen berrie(yuck), but I can't get out anymore to pick my own, it's too hard on my back. So I have to beg other people for them or buy them.
Anyway, I did lose a pound myself, teeting on getting back into the 40's, so Yup, I needed to cut back on amounts, I was just being a big piggie..... I felt better too, with the smaller meal yesterday. And I still had two big cookies, so it's not the sugar, it's just the big amounts of all the foods.

O.k., I'm off to go see what's for lunch...be back.....

Hi Everyone! Looks like you are all doing great! Not much going on here today for a change. I want to do some extra cooking today. Did some errands with DH this morning but I've got the afternoon free now that he's gone to work.

It's too windy to bike ride today so I'll be biking in the basement! I had a good ride yesterday that brought my total miles for the week to about 100 miles so missing today isn't a problem! I just wanted to get as many miles as I can before my surgery on Monday.

Food is going great still! I just need to get some food made ahead now for the weekend and for next week.
