hey sue i was just quoting from the callanetics book, its what callan says she had to do to get rid of her cellulite, she switched to lean meats fruit and veg drunk 8 glasses of water and she was cellulite free within 6 weeks but everyone is different you might find you can eat some of that stuff and not get bad cellulite and then theres some people who can eat anything and never get cellulite

SummerSue,

Thanks for the suggestion. I actually DO think that change might do me good.

Is Evolution equal to 10/10 in the intensity/level of exercise?

Cellulite concerns:

Diet alone will not diminish cellulite.

And thank goodness, there are many different ways of eating (hate that word, "diet"), and we all respond to them in various ways.

That's the reason for one of the quotes in my siggy.

That said, it's a combo of WOE and working out, strengthening, burning fat, that reduces the cellulite.

See this post for more insight:
How many lost thigh cellulite with loss?

What exercise can i do more to take it away more quickly ?
thank for your listening.
wazo,

There are more qualified people than me on this board to suggest exercises, but I would like to recommend dry skin brushing to reduce the appearance of cellulite. I am bad about sticking to it on the regular basis, but when I DO do it, it does yield results pretty quickly. Plus, it eliminates excess water from the tissues and helps with the lymph drainage.

Here's just a random article I found that summarizes this:
The Dry Brushing Technique

ADLMA,

Thanks, it does help to know that I am not alone. I try to schedule my workouts as smartly as I can to sneak in that 'me' time, but sometimes the wee beastie just doesn't want to co-operate My two older ones are a huge help , though.

Watch-Me-Shrink - thanks for the great link. It appears that losing the fat and moving the muscles will do the trick, eventually.

I agree with your thoughts on "diets" - so different for each of us. We eat and respond differently physically and mentally to foods. I also think age enters into it - my metabolism isn't what it used to be 10 years ago. There's definitely room for improvement though!

TripleCharm:

I saw that dry brushing site a few weeks ago - I was thinking of starting, but haven't yet. It's certainly worth a try - for the cost of a loofa! Finding the time is always the trick, though.

And the deep massages sound lovely - I've been thinking about them ever since starting Callan!

I somehow find Evolution less taxing, but it is by no means an easy workout. They show 3 levels for each exercise, which makes finding a workable level easier, as opposed to 10 in 10 where you are always shooting for the top form. It may be a mental thing for me, I don't know. Even when I did 10 in 10 in my 20's, I found it hard to put the video in some days, knowing how "hard" they were. Some of the exercises in Evolution are the same, some changed slightly, and some new.

Also, I'm really trying to focus on long term solutions for myself. Last spring I was working out at the gym regularly (finally) and then the boys came home for summer and my routine ended. They are too old for the care center and too young to be left alone. This time around I'm focusing on dvd's at home, what I like, what works for me, and an assortment so I'll have no reason to not do something. Having both 10 in 10 and Evolution gives me a changeoff without skipping it completely!

TripleCharm, thank i'll go to read this dry brushing site, and i'll try to understand all !!

OK, i think i can try it, it's not difficult, i think too i could get the "
Anti cellulite Masseur Philips Celesse Beauty" of my mum to do massages every day.

I would get a one day's rest on callanetics, but i don't feel tired and Callan help me sleep well. MUST i do a one day's rest ? Even if i do only 1/2 hour callanetics ?

Watch-Me-Shrink
I agree with you, diet is not THE word, i prefer say i take care of how and what i eat. Loss weight is as well for good health as for the aesthetics.

Doesnt coconut oil have like 14grams of fat per serving? Is this good fat or bad fat? I wanted to take this but was scared I would gain weight.

By the way my body is starting to look better but no size loss yet. I was looking in the mirrow and noticed my behind is getting rounder and lifting. Im kind of looking slimmer in areas even though I have not lost any sizes yet. My body is feeling more firmer in my fatty areas so something is happening surely but slowly. Hopefully these extra quick Callan will push things into gear. Im happy and this will keep me going. Maybe its taking longer for me then others but I will always love Callan!!

Hi, I just found this amazing forum and have ordered my dvds today... I was planning on starting with the Beginner version and then moving on to 10 in 10 (possibly changing it up with Evolution later). I also have the book - I remember trying this back when I was in my 20s (about 15 yrs ago!) and it totally kicked my butt. I've had a son since then (he's two years old) and I'm definitely ready to get serious now. I'm not overweight, but I am not toned. Basically I would call it "skinny fat." I also plan to do P.A.C.E. for my cardio (developed by Dr. Al Sears) in between my Callan sessions... Does this seem right?

One thing I remember strongly was the wish for a ballet barre and ladder like shown in the book. I looked on line for portable ballet barres, but they are quite expensive. I was wondering if I could go into a hardware store and get a basic wooden ladder - and somehow use that against the wall. I just remember that using chairs was kind of hard...

Any thoughts about that? Also, do you gals have your significant other take your photos (egads) or do you set it up to do it yourself? TIA!

When you do the hip/behind exercises are you supposed to feel this in the outer thigh/outer behind area? Or the entire buttock that you are working?

Also it seems like Im getting mushy on my lower abs/sides/hips/ inner thigh area but ever spot else is kind of toned. Like fat is resting in one area. Is this the result of everything pulling upward and how long before it evens out? I dont know if this is the results of Callan or not

Hi everyone.

I just got the 10/10 dvd and was browsing the internet when i found this thread. What an inspiration. So i'm in! I 'll be 25 soon and have only worn a 2 piece once. and i mean one day about four years ago. These are suppose to be the best years of my life and i have been spending them in jeans and tent dresses. I'm 5 10 but carry all my weight in my belly. Its like that gum commercial.. i want to go from nice gut to nice but (which is about 4 inches lower than it should be). I want to be that girl I can show pics to my kids in the future and say " that was mommy in that tiny bikini." I also got the Lotte Berk series so here's to the magic!
