Apparently it targets quite a lot of muscle groups - chest, upper back, arms, stomach and thighs.

When i did it i could really feel it in my thighs and my stomach and those areas definitely hurt more the next day as well.

I got the Callanetics DVD's late on Monday and did an hour yesterday and am gonna do another tonight. I find it helps me sleep better to exercise at night, although I know that exercising in the morning is better. I love this site. I love to know that I'm not alone. You are all amazing and I log on everyday, even if I don't get to post everyday, just to see how everyone is doing and to get a lil push if I need it. I do have a couple of questions that are going to make me seem a little dim....*apologies* - Firstly Watch-Me-Shrink, is there a way that I can contact you off the boards, I have a few queries, and you seem like the best person to ask. Your progress is inspiring. Also - I keep coming across TWYLA, Is that Watch-Me-Shrink? If so or not as the case maybe what does it stand for?....Sorry....

I'll keep letting you know...

1 hr of Callanetics down....(am feeling it big time - but loving it)

Keep going....

Another hour of 10/10 done. My 9-month old, though, decided that sleep is for the weak, and I had to spread the exercises into 3 portions over several hours. That was no fun...

I am hitting a rough patch lately. I've been dreading doing callanetics for the past 2 sessions, and had literally drag myself to do it. I feel great afterwards, but starting is soooo difficult. Has anyone exerienced this? I am especially surprised because I was always so enthusiastic about callanetics.

Therein lies the reason. It's really difficult to focus on ME time with little ones....don't beat yourself up over this. Steal me-time-moments when you can.

The results from C. should keep ya comin' back for more. Hang in there.

Back from vacation, got my first hour of Evolution for May in today (2/3 in the a.m., finished up this afternoon). Boy it was hard after a week off! I couldn't keep up. Know it'll get better as my muscle memory kicks in.

Welcome to all the newbies and congrats to all who posted wonderful results!

Hello All! One hour of evolution done tonight. I started 10/10 in April after finding this board. Very motivating, thank you! My goal for May is 10 hours, alternating between the two dvds.

Hi Group --
Thank you so much for all your support -- I am putting butter on everything -- even made a hamburger with butta - -mmmm -- that was good. Grilled foods are so yummy - I am doing hour #7 then will measure ( i said I wasn't gonna until after hour 10 but I can't stand it anymore!! HEHE)

Twila - I am watching more closely what I eat -- but still giving myself the joy of one cup of coffee a day!! My lack of water may be helping the body retain - I am going to up it today -- Maybe in a few days those extra pounds will have dwindled away!

Lildragon and SummerSue thanks for your support NO MORE PORK OR SOYBEANS til I am on my way!!

Does anyone know about splenda sweetner? - -I know Atkins recommends it or Stevia, but I have been reading about side effects - -and we are trying to conceive -- anyone got info on that??
Kat. (hour 7 on it's way!!)

I like knee dancing! Am I weird? I am going to do the upper body work and knee dancing from MEF today. I will let you know how it goes

Yesterday I did 40 minutes of callanetics. I fell asleep before the knee dancing

Have a great day!

I have some questions, please be understanding because of my english...
I've done 7 hours of callanetics, i see no changes really, i feel well and toned.
But I see more cellulitis on the back of my thighs than before. Is it normal?

What exercise can i do more to take it away more quickly ?
thank for your listening.

In the book callan covers this and she says if you see cellulite appear don't worry all the tightening from the exercises has only revealed what was there all along and if you change your diet you should get rid of the cellulite so cut down on coffee, red meat processed foods sugar dairy

Ild also just tell ya to keep going with the exercises because in callanetics the body pulls everything up before it pulls it in therefore the top of your thighs might temporarily be bigger than what they were

Hope it helps

Im the complete opposite im getting addicted to it lol at the start i didnt do it that much because i wanted to wait until my boyfriend was out of the house because my form was so dreadful but now ive improved big time so no need to cling on to the sofa like my life depends on it lol and as a result ive done it 4 days in a row and yesterday evening i decided to go extra open and close and hip/behind exercises lol todays my rest day tho so gonna get in some cardio and hopefully that will kill the urge to do callanetics today lol

Trish,

How many times have you done it? Yesterday was my first 1/2 video... I felt like my leg was 'nailed' to the floor in the hip/behind... is it my form - or did you feel the same - I know I am hanging onto my fluidity bar and shaking like a leaf!!

Thank you Trish,
My diet (here In France Atkins doesn't be loved, i do Dukan Diet) is protein, no sugar, no processed foods, no too fats, no carb...it is easy to do and i've lost already 15kg (33 lbs), without seems to be hungry. I eat more fish, chicken, eggs, soya....fibrous vegetables...

I keep going with callanetics, OK. I just think it is very nasty this cellulitis i can see now...but it's true that before i didn't see it so much but i was less toned !!

I got the english book, and i haven't understood all the long texts, thank you.

Hey Kim,

when i first started doing it my leg was completely nailed to the floor i couldnt believe it lol after a few attempts i eventually got it off the floor and my about session 4 it was easy to lift but then after another session or 2 because my muscles were being worked deeper i just had to stuggle to keep it up lol could hardly do all the reps, ive done it a total of 13 times now and im starting to add in more exercises, i have the book and it had a few extras that the video doesnt have.

Waza your diet sounds pretty good, from reading the message boards i know a lot of people have had good success with the high protein low carb and low fat im actually thinking of switching to that and definitely stick to the callanetics within a few more sessions im sure ull tighten up even more.

Bye-bye, 160's !!!

Sorry for the off topic, but I couldn't help myself. I've been waiting for a long long time to see the scale show anything under 160, but I did this morning!

TripleCharm - Maybe it is the whole mom of young children thing. I, sometimes, push myself to Callan also. I know that when I Callan, I will have two young ones swinging on me or sitting on me, making it difficult to complete. I know how great I feel after, so I press on. I hope it helps that you know you are not the only one pressing on to get in an hour!

Wazo - Keep giving Callan an hour! You WILL see results. I lost 11.5 inches in one month! I promise at the end on 19 hours, you will be pleased!

Did another hour 10/10.

I use limited amounts of splenda. And I also do have 1-2 cups of decaf coffee a day.

I am happy doctor released me so I can do callan now again. I wasnt able to do for last 2 days and I was so bummed.
