Tommie, yeah, I think everybody probably has a toilet cell phone story... or is it just me and you???!!! One week DH dropped not one, but two in the toilet. And he flushed one. Had to take the toilet apart to get it out too and he thought it flushed all the way down. I was like um, it was MY phone and had a clip on it. I knew it was stuck. Gross.

Ooooooo Tommie... local cookbooks??????? I'm drooling over here... send 'em on!!! You see me! I've got tons but I still keep buying 'em too! I told ya ... I got a problem!!
Well I will start you a cookbook collection!! I like the ones that the local churches put together, because it goes to a good cause and they are GOOD recipes that you know someone else has tried!!! I have some relatives that we just learned about a couple years ago...anyways...they have invited us down to Texas to a family reunion in June. Apparently its a large family kinda like mine, because they are collecting recipes for their own recipe book. I sent them several recipes this week. I told them I wanted to order several when they get them ready. This is my great great grandfathers sisters family!! We never even knew he had a sister! Kinda neat to find out after all these years.

I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one that can't keep their hands or phones outta the toliet!!! My sis n law dropped her car keys in the toliet at wal-mart once and the toliet was one of those automatic flushers!! Yep...wasn't good!! We had to call a locksmith out on a Saturday in JULY!! I had groceries in the trunk!! And my kids with us!! Bad deal!!

Oh good grief Tommie... groceries locked in the trunk in July!! Ya know - you ought to write one of those humor books like the Sweet Potato Queen or who's that other one, oh yeah, the Ya-Ya's! You have so many funny stories I know you could market it like they did and make a couple million! Hey! I'll be your agent, yeah!!!

I'll have to drum up some local cookbooks from here for you too. Gotta remember that. Well, speaking of cooking, I'm off to get dinner going. Check in with you ladies later!

Much better day today, yeah?

Whoohoo! Thanks for the drinkiepoo recipes!

OK, I ate my steak and my big salad and had to report to the blender. I made a strawberry cheesecake thick shake sans eggs. Pretty dam# good....could have been thicker to get the true Blizzard sensation but I am an ice cream ho' so good enough.

1/2 packet strawberry SF jello
1/4 cup or less hot water
2 Splenda tabs
3 caps French Vanilla DaVinci's .... blend all that for a bit
2 ounces cream cheese
10 ice cubes
2 T vanilla whey protein
~ 2-3 ounces of cream .... beat the crap out of it (or the frappe into it )

I liked it so well, I made a chocolate one with half a package of chocolate pudding I had sitting around.

Now I am full full full! This was one of those bottomless pit days...again, must be the welcoming party for TOM. Gotta LOVE proteinatious faux ice cream, though!

Kathy, end of June, eh? I may have reached critical mass from bar exam studying by that time.... let's get together!

Hi Girls,Kathy,Your Picture on the beach is great! You guys will think I am crazy but regarding the low carb drink mixes........About 4 years ago I was really strict into my woeing.Hubby and I were going away with good friends to the beach in fl.Well I sent my order from netrition...Including Baha Bob drink mixes to the tee-ki bar at the Ritz Carlton. So When everyone was ordering their fancy drinks at sunset,I could get my low carb version.I have never lived that down. But I did not gain any weight.Rena

No, I graduated in '93. I practiced law for 5 years before running away to join the circus (I HATED it, absolutely hated it, and would rather have emptied bedpans...so I just plain quit, and didn't maintain my license).

But now that I am older and more mature, it seems silly not to be a bar member when I am qualified for it. And they have better group health insurance than I can get as a solo business owner, which has become increasingly important in the last year or so. But I have been out of the game for 10 years, and anything over 3 years you have to sit for the exam again. So that is the task this July.

I am roadtripping to Hershey, PA at the end of May (seemed like a good idea when I planned the trip, prior to my LC life ) and then have to delve into cramming three years of law school back into my aging and decrepit nut in time for the two-day exam

Now THAT's thinking, Rena

Kathy, you look beauteous! You are half the woman I am!

I swear to God, between Shala, Theresa, and Tommie....I have been having a PB yen (bug parts, rodent hairs, aflatoxins and all!) for WEEKS. I was wondering where that was COMING from. Must have been some kind of subliminal mind-melding thing you guys are doing! Use your powers for good instead of evil!

Oh God, am I full

I did general practice. Some "fun" stuff, lots of crappy stuff. Hated doing domestic. Did appointed criminal appeals because it was money that was easily collectible (since counties paid it) but man did it stink...going on prison visits, getting searched by the likes of Tommie and other corrections workers, sitting across from appointed clients appealing their convictions for criminal sexual conduct and being told, over and over again, "I don't have no problem gettin wimens...why would I mess with that little gurl?" BLAAAAAAHHHHHH!! I did estate planning too, civil litigation, a little environmental law, small business startups, and tried to do a lot of equine law. Kind of a mixed bag.

Maybe (if I pass the blinkin' test) Mary and I can look for juicy corporate jobs together!

Ing, actually my very first legal job was as a legal secretary for a criminal lawyer in New Orleans. This was at the time that the Marielita Cuban refugees had expanded to N.O. along with the drug trade so cocaine charges was what my boss primarily handled. I counted a lot of cash out of cases in those days, but thankfully he went to the jail, not me!

I don't envy you having to study for the bar at all.
