How are you likng your Wii Fit? My DH wants to get me this for Mother's Day. We have the preview DVD and it looks neat. I am just worried that it will be more complicated than I am used to.

Hi Sarah

i really like it, especially the yoga and the small games to add a bit extra cardio to my day. its really easy to do and i love to do the body test every morning to see the progress iam making.

but for a "real" hard workout i still prefaire doing TJ or going to the gym or for a run in the park.

let me know what do you think about, when you get one

TJ today:

45 min. turbo sculpt and 20 min. ab jam

what do you girls use for wight when you are doing the ts? it seems to me to easy when iam doing it, guess its beacuse i work out in the gym 2 times a week and lift heavy weights there!?

I use five pound weights for turbosculpt, but it is getting easier. I will need to buy some eight pound weights soon. I always wear weighted gloves during cardio party. It gives you such a better workout. I also just bought some ankle weights. Think I will try them tomorrow....hope they don't kill me...hahah!

Michelle, I actually love Turbo Sculpt, but I do want to smack the blonde girl at the back too. I am moving up to eight pound weights today, so it definitly will make it interesting. I am not a fan of the twenty minute...it just isn't long enough for me. I try to do the cardio party twice a week and fat blaster once a week. Have you tried that one? It is crazy hard at first I am trying to do more strength/weight trainig than cardio. It seems to help me tone up better that way.

Anyway, keep up the good work with exercising!

Michelle~Have you taken your measurements? That is how I judge my losses. I think scales are evil and only weigh myself once a month (and definitly not around my TOM).

Weight fluctuates too much I think. I also do callanetics and yoga. I think that they are fun to change up with. Definitly don't want bordem to set in

Definitly keep your eye out for fat blaster though, it really helped to get me out of a slump.

Michelle, If you are keeping on plan and working out maybe your body just needs time to catch up. I had a terrible time with my last ten...boy it took forever, but don't give up it will happen Promise!

Punch, Kick & Jam?

Hi everyone,

I went many days w/out any TJ, was doing the treadmill, weights or walking outdoors. I did the 20 minute workout last night and I still do like it (even though it's "short" )

This morning I tried "Punch, Kick & Jam" for the first time. It was OK but I have no rubber band things so I did skip that 3-4 minute segment. One thing I didn't really care for was the music, although the "drum stuff" for the capoeira (sp?) part was good, in my opinion. What do you all think of the music for Punch, Kick & Jam?

I was fairly uncoordinated as usual (ha), but this workout has a lot of repetition so for a beginner, it was not too hard to catch on. But I am wondering what makes this particular one DIFFERENT from the various Cardio "Party" workouts?

Can anyone also tell me the difference between "Fat Blaster" (which I do not have) and the Cardio Parties?

I plan to try the Turbo Sculpt later this week. I doubt I'll be able to do it with 5 lb weights, even though I've been lifting free weights for some time... but just due to the high-tempo nature of these workouts!

Thanks and take care!
Michelle

Michelle, Fatblaster is a thirty minute workout comprised mostly of the "turbos" high speed high intensity. I love it. I usually do this once a week, but sometimes twice.

I have never done "punch, kick and jam" so can't help you there.

Turbo sculpt I like. I love to workout with weights anyway though. I would start with three pound weights to see how that feels, but if it gets to feel like you are straining at all, do it with no weights a few times and then increase.

Today I did ab jam and turbo sculpt. Hope to work in some cardio this afternoon. Wanted to take a walk with my son, but it is rainy cold and gloomy out today. Have a great day all!

Hi, I was just wondering whats the most any of you weighed while doing turbo jam. At almost 300 pounds I have a hard tim getting through the videos, should I just do what I can does it get easier???And how much are you actually keeping the "tuck" form while doing the videos?? Some of the moves seem impossibble with keeping the tuck in line.
thanks

I started doing TJ around 210-220 lbs. I'm almost 190 pounds now, and I think it gets a lot easier to maintain the tuck when you've lost more weight, but that's just me. When I first started doing TJ, I never could keep the tuck. And didn't realize til I started doing TJ again a couple months ago, how important the tuck is. Seriously, my stomach has gotten so much more toned. I can actually see muscle on my upper abs and you can start to see my ribs! How exciting. Just got to lose some of that belly flab and the lovehandles, and I'll be good to go.

Hello TJammers,

I was looking for something to complement my Callanetics, Lotte Berk and Ashtanga yoga. TJ sounds just like the answer. I'm downloading the videos and would be happy to join you soon. Have fun!

Princess~ I agree with Laura. Stick with it and modify where ever you need to. I started TJ at 139.5, and it was hard for me to keep the tuck till I learned what I was doing.

Laura~Glad to see you! Are you still in school? How is it going?

Welcome Yllenia!

Today I did cardio party mix 1 with the gloves and used my new ankle weights for the first time.....I hope my legs stop shaking soon

Yes, I am one of those unfortunate people who have to go to school in the summer, minus a 2 week break end of June. School is going good, but I am just ready to graduate. Almost 6 more months to go, then I can officially say I will be a vet tech. How are you doing?

Today I am going to rest from doing TJ, but I am going to do 40 mins on the elliptical and probably a mile or more on the treadmill. Maybe 2 miles if I'm feeling up to it.

Laura~ That is awesome! I didn't realize that you were that close to being done. Isn't it nice to see a light at the end of the tunnel?! Where do you want to work? I am just patiently waiting for vacation in June....that should be a great month. Need to get outta Colorado for a bit. Want to wander back to the east coast and feel some real humidity...aaahhh the odd things you can miss

Good luck with your workout!

I am going to work in some kind of vet clinic/animal hospital, and I'm going to be doing small animal. Somewhere along after I graduate and get comfortable in working somewhere, I want to go back to school and get my BAS (since my program is only 16 months and it's an AAS), so I can specialize in anesthesia and/or emergency/critical care. I really would love to work in an emergency setting out of school, but we'll see. I don't know if I'd be able to get hired with no experience in that.

Vacations are definitely exciting.
