Thanks for all the entertainment and informational things today!

Missy--I love the friends thing, and that is totally how I talk to most of my friends (and co-workers and staff---heck, even my boss!)!

Lei--Yay on being down 1.5!! You are really losing fast and I am sooo jealous! But as long as you take me with you I guess I'll get over it! Actually, our goal weight is probably the same. I'm pretty sure that once I get to 150 I'll aim for 145 or 140, but I just want to get to that 150 mark so I can say that I finally attained my main goal! Congrats on being accepted for college! What type of program/courses are you going to take and what do you want to be when you grow up?

Lisa--unless you ate the whole box of Special K (did you?) then I think the scale will be just fine! Glad you are back on track and and have some food ready to go!

Alisa--I know it's frustrating when the numbers aren't what we want (well, it is for me anyway!) but as you know a loss is a loss--so I say celebrate it! Are you getting in your water today?

Anna--here's how I see the scale thing, if you weighed the same at the Dr--with clothes on, likely after you've eaten or at least had liquids at some point before the appt---then you would probably weigh less at home, first thing in the morning--naked! (isn't that how everyone weighs themselves!?) For me that is usually about 2-3 lbs less. But I don't blame you a bit for not getting on, and you'll know when the time is right.

LeAnne--how are things going with you. You've been kind of quiet--hopefully we aren't scaring you!

Lucy----yay!!!! on the scales going down! As far as the leg cramps go, I'm not sure.... Dehydration sounds like a good reason so maybe increase your water---low carb is very dehydrating. I *think* I have heard that leg cramps can be associated with not enough vitamin b, but you might want to google it. I know that if I eat really really low carb I sometimes get them, and if I eat really really high carb (while on this woe) I can get them--so I try to avoid those extremes! Sorry I'm not much help on that one!

Angie--are you back from your trip yet? Did you have fun?

Susan--so do you feel any different today eating more and healthier? Have you always been a runner or is this something you started while losing weight?

Lora--what is F.A.I.R.A.?

Going to check out the boards, bbl.

Well... I increased my cals and gained 4lbs over the weekend
I am hoping my metabolism will adjust, as I am used to having only around 500 cals a day.
I have always been a runner.

Uggg--I know the 4 lbs is frustrating, but it will come right back off, your body is just confused right now. I promise you though, in the long run you will be so happy that you took just a little time to get the metabolism up and running cause if you don't, you are going to run into a horrible stall (or possibly something worse). Hang in there and we'll all be here rooting you on!!

My Jokes contribution

Here are two husband bashing jokes for the day:

A man and his
wife were having some problems at home and were giving each
other the silent
treatment. Suddenly, the man realized that the next day,
he would need
his wife to wake him at 5:00 AM for an early morning business flight.

Not wanting to be
the first to break the silence (and LOSE), he wrote on a piece of paper,

'Please wake me at 5:00 AM .' He left it
where he knew she would find it.
The next morning, the man woke up, only to
discover it was 9:00 AM
and he had missed his flight. Furious, he was
about to go and
see why his wife hadn't wakened him, when he noticed a piece
of paper by
the bed. The paper said, 'It is 5:00 AM. Wake up.'
Men are
not equipped for these kinds of contests.

WIFE VS.
HUSBAND

A couple
drove down a country road for several miles, not saying a word.
An earlier discussion had led to an argument and
neither of them wanted to concede their position. As they passed
a barnyard of mules, goats, and pigs,
the husband asked sarcastically ,
'Relatives of yours?'
'Yep,' the
wife replied, 'in-laws'.

I know, I know!!! I did eat a zucchini omelet after I posted (made with one WHOLE zucchini!), so take THAT! J/K!! And....... CONGRATULATIONS on your acceptance!!!!!!!!!!!

P.S. That skinny celebrities thing was FREAKY! Oh my gosh! That is horrific! It is so sad that people actually do look like that when they suffer from eating disorders.

@ weighing naked... can you believe I've never actually done that?!!? I usually have sweat pants on when I weigh! Thanks for understanding though... I hadn't eaten anything before I went, but I did have 2 cups of coffee, and I had a full bladder before I was weighed too.

Even if it was accurate though, oh well. I'm not LCing to lose pounds; I'm LCing so that I can fit into me clothes and so that I am healthier.

Sorry to hear about the 4 pounds, but don't get discouraged! The 4 pounds IS NOT body fat. It is probably the weight of the food plus water retention. For it to be body fat, you actually would have had to eat 14,000 more calories than you burned over the weekend, which isn't even possible unless you ate like 30 sticks of butter. Me suggestion is to keep your carbs low, keep your calories up, and stay active. Things WILL even out and your body will thank you for all of the newly found nourishment!

I am going to do Long Home Term Care, with a twist so I can get into Hospice when finished.. A girl that came to the house (Hospice worker) for my daddy when he was sick, kind of got me thinking about it.. She was so great, and I'm honestly thinking that if it wasn't for her, I wouldn't have gotten through it... Say I guess you could say, I'm just "paying it forward"..

You are right...it's just that I'm still only in my first few weeks of LC and I am so far ahead of my "normal" high weight, I was expecting it to come off quicker. I've never weighed this much before and it's really bothering me. But I did manage to get my water in today. 4+ liters so far. So you know where I spent most of the day.

Lei: Congrats on getting into school! Your field sounds awesome.

Today's menu:
b. steak sammy made w/2 oopsie rolls. 1/2 cup coffee
l. cheeseburger patty, garden salad, ranch dressing, coffee
d. 2 pieces cola chicken, 1/4 avocado & mixed greens
s: slice of cheese, a handful of pork rinds
other s: matzo and grape juice.
Just joking...I actually had a teeny tiny bit b/c I took communion at church tonight. I wonder how it would go over if I asked the pastor for LC communion options???

I've just had a really tough few days, anniversarys that I don't usually deal with sober .
I did weigh myself yesterday and I've lost 7.5lbs apparently... but... I don't believe that scale so at weekend I'm going to go and weigh myself on the scale I used to begin with (getting rid of my scale seemed like a good idea at the time, to stop me weighing myself a million times a day, but it's just a pain in the ***).
I'm sorry I've not been saying much in posts, I withdraw from everything when I'm not feeling great, I'm surprised I even posted my menus .
Have a great day everyone, and I will catch up with all the posts later .

Susan--woohoo on the lb down! So I'm still being nosey about the running--how far/long do you run for? I started getting into jogging last year but I can't say that I have ever caught the endorphin high or the second wind that people talk about....maybe I just don't push it hard enough!

Lei--paying it forward---very admirable! It's amazing how sometimes an event that leaves us feeling so lost can often open our eyes to a new "purpose."

LeAnne (am I spelling your name right?)--I'm sorry you're going through a rough time. Know that we are here if you want to vent or share any of it. And, we're usually good for a laugh or two which can help when you're feeling down!

Alisa--Post induction stall maybe?? I didn't even notice your start date but you would definitely be in that time frame. My losses hugely slowed down from day 10 to day 30, but they picked right back up after that!

Shoot, I have to get to a meeting, BBL!

I get the endorphin rush between 2-4 miles. I grudgingly run along until it hits me, then I feel it and don't want to ever stop.
Not everyone gets the runners high, and I think some people just don't notice it because they are pushing themselves too hard and are in pain.
When I am thinner, I can go up to 10 miles a day (second endorphin rush is usually at 8 miles)!
It's alot of stress on my knees at this weight so I keep it at about 30 minutes a night.

Morning gals....

Well i had this tiny little piece of left over fish steak in the fridge and when I flaked it off the bone and removed the skin, if I got 2tlbs it was plenty...ANYWAYS in order to bulk it up, I sauteed 1/2 chopped onion, about 6 chopped pimento peppers , salt , pepper and a tiny bit of BBQ sauce and threw in the flaked fish.......I let it almost caramelise/burn......and ate it with nut crackers ..... OUTTA THIS WORLD I TELL YA and I got almost a 1/2 cup yield.......So how is that for adding in my veggies...AND stretching a meal

yesterday

B - nut crackers & shrimp
L - cheese paste * nut crackers
D - Steak & Cheese cubes
S - pork cracklings

2047 cals - 23 carbs

You know you are amazing because you are not only givign up the carbs but you are giving up the booze..........and you ARE doing it

In time just as each day gets easier without carbs ......each day will get easier without the drinks......actually do you plan on giving up drinking for good or is this just because you are dieting now
