Tommie i was thinking of putting the onion and shrooms on a steak. Thats a good idea for tonight. That coconut thing sounds good. Thats why i don't bake in my house. I eat it all. The other day me and DH went to wal-mart. They had the hostess ding dongs and twinkies on sale 2 for $5. Here he came caring two boxes of them. I wanted to kill him. He has strayed from his diet but he is in for a rude awakening he's going back on.

Shala come back!!!

Love that bacardi & diet cola with the lime - but out of lime. (you know what I do in the summer--buy a couple of lemons & a couple of limes, slice 'em thin, lay them out flat in freezer on a piece of wax paper for a couple of hours until they're frozen solid, then put in ziplock baggies & back in freezer. Then any time we want a twist in a drink or beer, just grab one from the freezer bag. They don't look as good as fresh sliced, but mighty convenient. Works for lemon slices in your iced tea, too.) Anyway, with no de caff cola, I just have to try the root beer/spiced rum and the root beer/cherry rum. I'm also thinking about maybe brewing some "taste of the topics" herbal tea and trying that with pineapple rum? I'll give you a report tomorrow, if I'm not totally hungover (just kidding--I mix very weak drinks.) But it is 'bout time to start experimenting with summer beverages, ya know...girl scout motto (or somebody's) BE PREPARED.

My house smells so yum right now...TOTALLY LEGALLY...I've got Heroin Wings baking and the smells are wunnerful! Lettuce is cleaned & draining ready for salad making. Whoops, there goes the timer...o.k. I'm back, they're done & sitting on the cupboard but hubby won't be home for at least a 1/2 hour! I may just have to sample some to make sure I didn't "ruin" the recipe

see ya later, ladies...although we have severe thunderstorms heading our way so don't know if I'll be on the puter later or not.

I did do a few things outside late this afternoon, but the bugs are eating me alive out there. Got a plant repotted now I gotta go pick up my mess lol...

Between Jen and Shala, I feel like I need a sunglass picture now! I saw the cutest ones in our Dillards ad yesterday. They're by Fossil, kinda big, but not too big, but they're like purple and hot pink and aqua and orange... too cool!

Yum... Tommie that recipe sounds killer but will have to go in the "file" for me too. I would not be able to stand it and I'd eat the whole thing!!

Jen, it's a chicken wing recipe from Dana Carpender's cookbook, but Linda Sue has it or a version of it on her website. ETA: Recipe and BTW... I added hot sauce to the butter when I made 'em.. YUM!!!

Heroin Wings

4 pounds chicken wings
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
2 tablespoons dried parsley
1 tablespoon dried oregano
2 teaspoons paprika
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon pepper
½ cup butter

Preheat oven to 350.
Cut the wings into drumsticks, tossing the pointy tips.
Combine the Parmesan cheese and the parsley, oregano, paprika, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
Line a shallow baking pan with foil (Do not omit this step, or you will still be scrubbing the pan a week later).
Melt the butter in a shallow bowl or pan.
Dip each drumstick in butter, roll in the cheese and seasoning mixture, and arrange in a foil-lined pan.
Bake for 1 hour.

Yield: About 50 pieces, each with only a trace of carbohydrates, a trace of fiber, and 4 grams of protein.
